With many Camry's of the current shape coming up to the end of their warranty, I just wanted to check with everyone about the top things to make certain are checked before this happens.

An example of what I mean is with my own car:

I have taken my 2003 Ateva in for service and asked them about a slight ticking sound that is in sync with the revs so clearly the engine. Toyota said they needed to check the tappets whilst cold, whcih they have now done. They have found the lift valves need to be replaced. These components are apparently worth around $26 each (cost to Toyota not retail) and there are four of them. But the labour charge must be massive, they got the car on Monday night and are working on it off and on and will have it back Friday afternoon (remembering Thursday is a public holiday). They believe it is a failed component and nothing to do with driving style or the way the car was treated prior to me buying it.

They are also doing the rubber around the drivers door/window which apparently is a common flaw with the current shap Camry.

So what I would like to know from the guys on this forum is, in addition to these items is there anything else that really ought to be checked in the final weeks of my warranty?

Hope this also helps others who might be in a similar position.
