Hi Rex,

I have an 08 Hiace KDH221R, 3L, 1KD engine. As Toyota don't tend to change anything unless they need too I assume your oil filter like mine is behind the exhaust manifold, I find it easiest to locate and change from under the left side of the van, behind the wheel. The filter is angled vertically and horizontally towards the front of the engine.

Hi Rex303

I have a 2013 Toyota Hiace had the same problem trying to locate the oil filter. Open the engine bay under the passenger seat. On the passengers side of the motor (RH drive) at the very top back corner of the engine, if you put your hand down the back corner you will see and feel the small round filter. It's a bit tricky to see but it is there.
