Help!

Has anybody else had this problem??????????????????????????????

I've got a 1999 Corolla AE102R Auto 1.8i

It was great till nine months ago when it developed an intermittant fault.

The engine would just stop when slowing down for traffic lights or going into a roundabout. On pulling away from rest it would sometimes hesitate badly or even stall. It was and still is an intermittant fault. Great most of the time but a pain occasionally.

The local Toyota dealer couldnot find anything wrong, and he had four goes at it. The best fuel injection/auto electrician I could find in Sydney couldnot find the problem.

I really love my Corolla, but if it keeps on misbehaving on me I'm going to have to let it go.

So, please, if anybody has had this happen to them and found out what to do Plwase save my Corolla.

have you checked for vacuum leaks and also check the length of your intake runners and intake piping for cracks and leaks. I believe your engine has the airflow meter. there could be in metered air entering the engine.

keep us posted.

Thanks, but wouldn't that only be true if it played up when the fuel was low?

It happened when the tank was full as well as low. I have made a point of not letting the fuel level get too low in case there is some goo in the bottom of the tank.

I have recently had the fuel filter changed, not an easy task, and Vexhi appears to be in remission. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the suggestion
