Hi everyone, eerie timing, but I was lucky this time.

Waaay back in 2019, my car (Corolla wagon) was caught in a localised flood up to the bottom of the door sills. It was rain water only - no rivers or creeks etc, just the way the apartment complex was shaped on the ground floor, with inadequate drainage and three days of heavy rain. I was away at the time :o(

The electrics etc. were fine, but while there was no pooled water in the interior, there was a smell afterwards.  I got the interior steam cleaned which helped, but whenever it gets very wet outside, the smell returns.

1. I imagine the carpet may have to come out. Anyone done this, with any hints or tips? Any guides or processes anyone knows of?

2. Is there anywhere else in the exterior that may trap water that should be water blasted, flushed or steamed?

Thank you everyone for your reading and assistance!
