I have a P00012 code (Cam timing Retarded A bank) CEL and AWD light illuminate around 2 minutes after the engine is at operating temperature. If the code is cleared and engine not turned off, no further code however if turned off (and at operating temperature), code re-appears after 2 minutes.

I have tested and replaced the oil soleniod controlling the VVTI system, Replaced the timing chain and the VVTI gear (with new genuine Toyota parts) as well as the sensor on the crankshaft and on the camshaft. I have removed and checked the VVTI oil control screen / filter also.  I have had Toyota check and confirm all is correct including the timing. I have flushed the engine oil twice, replaced the engine oil and filter using 5W30.

Their advice is that there must be a blocked oil gallery somewhere but would need to take engine out and dismantle to identify. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could have missed?
