Fuel leaking when filled

Hi All,

have a 2012 ZRE152R hatch. Had it for about 6 months now but when I fill it right up, it leaks a small amount of petrol on the garage floor, and when I fill it only to 3/4, there is a strong smell of petrol in the garage until the tank get to about 1/2. The car had the fuel suction plate assy on a recall in 2018, long before I got it, but there now seems to be another leak again. I have had a look under the car but cannot find any obvious leak signs. The leak is located on the drivers side in line with, or just ahead of the rear tyre and about 8-12 inches in. What would I be looking for in that area that could be leaking?

I'd be removing the back seats and seeing if the leak is coming from the fuel pump (without knowing the details of the recall I'd say this is what the "fuel suction plate" is).  It is located on the centreline of the car through an inspection hatch underneath the rear seat but depending on how it gets parked I could see any small leaks (either from the pump flange or from a pressure line fitting) tricking their way down to in front of the right rear tyre.

thanks, will check this out, sounds like it could be the cause.
