I've taken the plunge and bought a Viofo A129 Duo dashcam with the hard wiring kit.

The problem is finding a safe, constant, 12 volt power source for hardwiring.  All the YouTube 'how to' vids talk of finding the 'hot' side of the fuse position - only one end will light up your simple bulb circuit tester.

I'm finding that both ends of the fuse light up on every fuse located inside the car, close to the steering wheel.  There's one fuse holder that's marked open and has a 20 amp fuse in it.  Would that be suitable?  and would it be safe to piggyback the connection, replacing the fuse in the same direction along with the dashcam's 5 amp fuse?  I've tried, without success to find out what 'Open' means.

Does anyone know for sure whether the Mk 2 came with diodes fitted into the circuitry and which fuse locations are safe to use??
