G'day mate, I don't know what you've checked or even if you've sorted it out yet, but first thing I would probably check are the front control arm bushes. Jack the vehicle up and check them, the rear ones on mine are quite bad atm. There is plenty of videos on Youtube, some are quite good, others show you what not to do, so I guess they're all useful. I currently have an 07 Grande (first of the 2nd gens), and it needs these bushes. The funny thing is, I was more concerned with other symptoms, which turns out, they are causing - the brakes seem a bit ordinary, and unusual little wobbles on the rubbish roads around home here, plus the noises you speak of. Of course it is entirely possible that is not your problem, but it won't hurt to check. Thanks Darryl -

LC200 windscreen washer nozzle removal
Solved! The trick is to remove the whole plastic shroud under the windscreen and unclip the nozzle from underneath. Remove the wiper arms, remove a plastic clip on each side near the bonnet struts & pull the shroud outwards. But replacing the nozzle ($42 from Toyota) didn’t solve the low pressure. The problem was the “valve” that joins the two nozzles - something blocking the LH outlet. Rather than another trip to Toyota, I bought a Y-piece from Repco & all now good. Out of curiosity I cut the “valve” open and it does indeed have some sort of pressure regulator mechanism inside. -

Fault codes
I Have a 11/2000 100 series landcrusier HDJ100R with the 1HDFTE turbo diesel I have the engine check light comming on sometimes when I start I have used the diagnostic port under the bonnet and connected TC & E1 terminals and the fault codes that I am getting are 3-3 and 3-5 can anyone tell me where I should be looking please I can reset the check light by disconnecting both battery negative leads for a few minutes -

Throwing a P0047 OBD Code
Tonight, I popped the circlip off the armature to free it from the stepper and confirmed the vane adjustment to be free and easy so thankfully, the turbo is mechanically sound as far as I can tell with no restrictions in its movement of the armature, I now feel confident the fault is 99.9% the stepper motor only so I'm ordering this tomorrow. Shop around, these are ridiculous prices in some places and something you can swallow in others. Found an aftermarket replacement with 3 year warranty roughly 3 days away from delivery from me for AUD $389.00 delivered... It could be worse. I'll post up how changing that over goes when it happens and hopefully with some good news that I'm out of limp mode with the problem, and fault code gone. This change over can apparently be done in place without removing the whole turbo so with any luck it may only take an hour or two to replace. If anyone knows a good write up for this or a YouTube link of someone doing one, that could be helpful. Watch this space I guess. -

Throwing a P0047 OBD Code
I'll keep a record here at least, maybe it can help someone by the time I'm done. Tonight, I measured the 2-wire voltage with the engine running, 0.4v on the Green wire, 0.54v on the White wire, not much, bearing in mind the vehicle is running in limp mode so this may only be the default stepper drive voltage from the ECU in limp, unsure, but thinking it having voltage at minimum is a good thing as it proves connectivity at the least... and hopefully that the drivers in the Boost ECU are OK. So really, it's just seeing if the variable nozzle is mechanically free and easy to prove the stepper is at fault now. I think? I'm assuming when the stepper motor or mechanical side at least gets tuff to move and causes burn outs on the drivers in the Boost ECU working too hard (some have reported), I can only imagine it drives the stepper with 12v and not a 5v signal over the 2-wire like most motors of this type in a vehicle, and that polarity is switched for direction in the Boost ECU over these too (total assumptions at this point but have no other bearing so far). I may have a spare stepper coming my way to plug the existing wiring into to see if the P0047 disappears so that should be a good test to prove it if I can get my hands on one, I think that would make sense, but that's not to say at that point it could still be mechanically ceased and will have to check this too. Any input from anyone would be appreciated, bit out on my own here which is why I joined the forum - So if you know anything, please feel free to chime in. -

2013 VDJ200 Post-engine swap trans solenoid error code p2716
Hi all, My mechanic has just completed an engine swap in my 2013 Sahara with a new crate engine, new rad, starter motor etc. All seemed to go well with the engine and the car fired right up but had some dash warning lights an upon running the scan tool error p2716 came up which is related to the transmission pressure solenoid. Tried to clear the error to no avail and it’s producing thrashy gear changes and sub par performance. So far they’ve checked the trans fluid which was all good. Checked the solenoid and it’s functioning normally. They’ve done a pin out test on the engine loom and everything looks good there with continuity through every pin. Pulled the ECM and opened it up to check for corrosion etc. but all looks normal (plus there was no issue like this prior to the swap so the ECM as the culprit seems pretty unlikely.) Have checked the orientation of the trans speed sensor plugs (swapped them back and forth) To no avail. Next step is to take my ECM and test it in a donor vehicle after pairing the immobiliser to try and eliminate it as the source of the problem completely. Wondered if anyone has experienced anything similar or has any suggestions for things we haven’t tried yet? Appreciate it!
