Fuel consumption for 2023 Fortuner GXL
I would be interested to know what members are getting. I get 11.5 K per litre to 9.5 K per litre(8.69 L per 100 K - 10.52L per 100K), which is way short of the claimed figures. -

St185 gt4 intercooler
Hi guys i am currently in the process of upgrading the manifold, turbo and intercooler on my gt4. I am considering selling the factory top mount W2A setup but have no idea what it’s worth as i can’t find any for sale anywhere. Anyone have any ideas what it might be worth if i do decide to sell? -

Clunking noise from right front of car
My car has developed a clunking noise from the right front area. Seems to happen when shifting from reverse to drive, and also when going over some bumps. Seems to be intermittent, and the only started after having the car at the mechanic having water pump and brakes replaced. I’m guessing it’s either driveshaft of suspension? Do you guys have any ideas? -

hilux 2009 3.0 engine issues
Hi All, Where do i start i guess at the beginning, I bought a 2009 hilux 3.0l last year with a new MOT on it ran it all year without issue. Went in for its mot and failed badly on emissions. My mechanic ran tests and found all number of issues. Basically i have bought and put in a 2014 engine thats suppose to have done 72000 miles. I have had to refit the original fuel pump injectors, air intake etc to get the wiring loom to work as the new engine had a completely different loom and plugs on all the ancillaries. Got it in fired it up and it smoked the place out at first then cleared out but it had a injector knock and will smoke if you hold it at 3000rpm anything below that it run perfect. We thought it was the injector as the ones from the original engine had done 200000miles. I had them tested and two injectors out the four were bad. so i got a service exchange set of new injectors and put them in, got them coded so all the lights on the dash went out. Started it and it filled the place with smoke again which after letting it run slowly cleared abit so i took it out for a thrash to try and clear it abit which it did but it is still showing the same traits as it did before i got new injectors you rev and hold it at 3000rmp and it smokes like its over fueling and when you rev it the diesel knock is still there. My and my mechanic are loosing the will with it but ive invested so much in it now that it needs to work for me. Can anyone help? -

2017 Corolla ZRE182R - Body Parts
Hi, I'm new to the modding scene and I'm looking for some help. I have a 2017 Corolla Hatch (base model) ZRE182R and I would like to install the 2017 ZR model body kit (front end, side skirts and rear bumper) I'm struggling to even find these parts or any info. Should I call Toyota dealership or body repair shop. Is there a site I can just buy from. I'm from Aus, Melb if anyone can point me in the right direction. Thank you- body kit

Hard to shift
I believe that your diagnosis is correct. If I double clutch while shifting down it goes in easily, so Double clutching while downshifting is what I will be doing. Thanks Tony -

2001 Hilux diesel Overheating issues
Recently acquired 2001 Hilux diesel is having issues with overheating when pushed hard on hot days. Air conditioner seems to make it more likely to happen i suspect that the radiator is partially blocked and/or The viscous fan is not working correctly and/or The thermostat is stuffed and/or the engine has head / head gasket issues. Any advice on what to check first and what to look for in testing each item listed. Are there any other causes that you can imagine would cause these symptoms? Tony in WA -

White smoke 💨 on every start
Posted 22nd June 2022 pictures of the oil sludge in the valve train and the cleaned front valve cover of my 2GR-FE engine. Thinking of removing the valve cover after Boxing Day to check to see whether the valve train and valve cover are now a lot cleaner after 18 months.- 1

White smoke 💨 on every start
I think you will find that the PCV valve needs to be cleaned or replaced, at the very least. I am also expecting that the engine has lots of oil sludge due to inadequate oil changes etc. Quick test is to temporarily remove the PCV valve from the valve cover. Leave the PCV valve still connected to the vacuum hose but block it by wrapping some tape around the end. Expect white smoke on this initial start up due to oil vapour having been previously sucked into the intake. There should be no white smoke after this 1st start up. Strongly recommend removing the valve cover and giving it a thorough clean especially the channel drain area around the PCV opening. I would not be surprised if you also find plenty of oil sludge accumulated in the camshafts and valves. Remove/scrape off as much of this oil sludge as possible. Assuming that the engine oil is well used, drain and replace with approx. 5-6 litres of diesel fuel to help flush any loose oil sludge. Idle engine for approx. 10 minutes. Drain and repeat the flushing with another lot of new diesel. Advantage of this approach instead of a commercial flush product is that it reduces the risk of the oil pick up getting clogged. Finally time for a new oil filter cartridge and new engine oil. Plan upon doing another oil and filter change in say 1000 kms. Then next one at say 2000 kms or when the oil colour becomes darker before becoming black. Eventually work towards an oil change interval of 6 months/5000 kms whichever comes 1st. Using the above approach, I did not remove the engine oil pan.- 1

Hiace Van Mod Project
Anything 5x114.3 Aurion, Kluger, Ford Falcon. Im running 16x6.5" on my little workmate. Got them off a Falcon ute, just had to get a set of hub rings to take up the difference between Hub and wheel centre, cheap as on ebay and they are a perfect offset so they remain tucked in under the guard
