Hey Guys

New to the forums and was wondering if anyone has got any recommendations as to whether or not extractors are worth the "ouch" to my wallet. Recently got an ST185 and the restriction from the exhaust is annoying me (also has NO vocals, hahaha) Gotta go through the entire exhaust system, whack in 3" piping throughout and find out if I actually need some extractors or not...and if anyone has a price approximation for the extractors :-P

Thanks in advance, Dave.

Extractors, as in exhaust manifold?

You can always go for the eBay SSAutoChrome (and XSPower/other copies/etc) ones for bang-for-buck, don't know if they really help but they look the part :D

If you want something decently made, you can always get an Aussie Exhausts manifold, downpipe, midpipe and catback exhaust (they do the full lot for the 185 from memory). Russell @ Aussie Exhausts is a great guy, you won't have any dramas with dealing with him :)

Hope that helps.

P.S. Be glad you got it easy! There are a great variety of ST185 exhaust manifolds out there. I have a 205; it's near-on impossible to find a decent priced one!!

^^^i was thinking the same thing....

avoid SSAC if you love your car.

so is it a 184 or 185??

i wouldn't worry about it (unless the std manifold has cracked or warped)

won't do much to improve spool of the CT26, as it already spools awesomely!

MIGHT give some hp increase, but no-one has really proved that yet, the std one flows rather well!

better to spend your money on either

1. full service if it hasn't been done for a while

or

2. put it towards a 3" exhaust from the turbo back

or

3. suspension mods!

Cheers

Agree with 3) Nathan. Suspension mods make the car so much more fun to drive - oh yeah Nate, you might be interested in a group buy I'll have happening soon on ozcelica, for a set of adjustable swaybar endlinks which allow you to pre-load your swaybar for oversteer ;) :D
