Ive got a 2003 Landcruiser Sahara with sat nav, bought the car new and now i think its time to do a some little mods.

I know this has been discussed before, but i would like to know how to get the sat nav system to play dvd videos, i understand the dvd rom player cant. But by using corrosponding inputs (if it has any) am i able to connect a car dvd video changer to it?

I would also like to add a reverse camera using the sat nav screen

how do i go about doing this? please someone help as i cant find the right info on the net or on conversations in forums as they are incomplete or of overseas models.

to add a reverse camera, it is quite simple.

all you need to do is buy the "Eclipse" (brand) 104 camera (from memory) and plug it into the back of the unit. it is a straight plug and play.

it retailed for about $350 a few years back so it might be a little cheaper now.

as for the playing DVDs, havent played around with it so cant help you there.

I think in order to play DVD movies (it is possible), you need to modify the DVD-unit itself (headunit). I think it needs to be chipped. I remember a guy in my neighborhood doing it on his Rav4. I can't remember how much it cost or who did it for him though. I can't ask him either as he lives somewhere else now :(

Im going to pull mine apart this weekend to see what the resistor value needs to be to activate the video input
