Are TISM finally f**ked?

Melbourne band 'TISM' (This Is Serious Mum) could have finally carked it after 20+ years of terrorising the music industry. I for one hope they come back. We need more sh!t musicians, as they embody the true spirit of the music industry. I remember a quote from them going along the lines of, "If you're a successful then you're a bottom dwelling, over opinionated, ignoramus. If you're sh!t, you're an alright person.".

I myself am going to try out of the lead guitarist position as I believe I'm much much sh!tter than Tokin Blackman.

Its a tragedy that such an icon of the Australian Music scene is nearing it's end.

Yes! TISM were known for their rather exclusive taste in musical content.

Yes! TISM did write songs that may have not been the most politcally, ethically, morally, psychologically or socially correct.

Yes! TISM did take any opportunity to take the p!ss out of the establishment.

HOWEVER! TISM NEVER BACKED DOWN FROM WRITING A TUNE/SONG/SPOKEN PROSE ABOUT WHAT THEY BELIEVED IN....

We need the minimalism back azza lol.

We need the 'lets play at a venue that has 2 stages, switch in between the two, then have a sound war at the end of the gig with tism playing on one stage and another band playing on the other.'

I want to see Ron jump into the crowd just to have his clothes, mask and underpants ripped off him and tossed back up on the stage naked again lol.

I prefer when they were a slightly lesser known band during the earlier 90's and we went to see them at the Roxy here in Brisbane when they supported people like Ben Lee & Custard (to name a few) and they would come on after the main act had played around 3 or 4 songs, telling the main act to "F**k off! You're crap"

These sorts of stunts were what made TISM who they are. Anybody that was the subject of them, knew this and were never offended or bothered by it, just bemused....

TISM's distain for homeboys is what I use to like, especially after it was made brutally open in their track "All Homeboy's Are D**kheads"

I know he's Dad's abusive, and his Mum prefers the daughter

I know that he has, and attention deficiency disorder

He's culturally excluded, and genetically inbred

But the reason he's a homeboy, is beacuse he's a d**khead

The bands that performed in the 'Thunderbirds Are COming Out' clip were actually all real bands that responded to a newspaper ad.

I understand there to actually be a few well known bands in there... :P

A TISM moment that had to happen...but didn't.

Tism 'somehow' getting the chance to play at the Oscars or MTV awards etc, using 'Five Yards' as the song and pointing at everyone in the audience, all while tarring everyone and throwing pieces of cardboard with 'you're a puscule' written on them.
