  1. hi all, will be fitting koni shocks on my 03 stivo shortly :P what setting should one adjust their front and rear shocks to? e.g. half turn? what are your feedback on soft vs hard setting? any recommendations? or are the factory koni settings ok? would like to get rear shockies set right first time round btw - car used for street driving only, no plans for track work. tia
  2. will clean the area, and observe. will also have the stivo checked out next week thank u all 4 your advice...
  3. it's a darkish colour like engine oil noticed it whilst i had the car hoisted up, before i drained the engine oil and oil filter
  4. hi all, just change the engine oil and oil filter last weekend and noticed a few drops of oil, near the rear main seal for the gear box should i be worried? will report this when i bring my car in for 20,000km service. PIC 1:

  6. a car with both supercharger & turbo charger :) http://www.popsci.com/popsci/automotivetec...ecbccdrcrd.html would be nice 2 see toyota releasing something innovative :D
  7. All oz car recalls are posted here ;) http://dynamic.dotars.gov.au/recalls/index.asp
  8. The recall is only for the toyota "prius" hybrid car http://finance.news.com.au/story/0,10166,1...667-462,00.html read below - October 14, 2005 "TOYOTA Motor issued a recall today for about 160,000 Prius cars sold mainly in the United States and Japan due to a potential software glitch that may cause the hot-selling gas-electronic hybrid to stall. A spokesman said there were no safety concerns but Toyota had decided to offer repairs free of charge. The problem may cause the gasoline engine to stall but the electrically-powered brake and steering operation would continue to function normally, he added. The voluntary recall follows an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the United States into complaints about problems with the Prius stalling. The administration said in June that it had received 33 reports of engine stalling in 2004 and 2005 model-year Prius vehicles. Over 85 percent of the incidents occurred when the car was being driven at speeds ranging from 35 to 65 miles per hour (56 to 104 kilometers per hour). Of the affected vehicles, about 75,000 were sold in the United States, 70,000 in Japan and 15,000 elsewhere. Advertisement: The Prius is the best-selling hybrid vehicle in the United States. 9. there is always the option of a rader detector ;) so u can spot them multi-nova's & lasers from 500meters away :P
  10. with factory clutch and flywheel, i find that if i miss shift or skip gears, gear change would not be as smooth e.g. more notchy. have only experienced crunching 1nce on reverse... is it possible that u could have burred / worned out your synchros? but that is if u used too much force.
  11. hi all, does anyone know if we can remap factory stivo the ecu with custom maps? where it can be done? what is the best solution? cheers! :P
  12. on my 03 stivo, with trd cai, and bp 98 octane i average about 620km with 10 litres to spare... without hooning 2 much will try caltex pulp 95octane next. apparently you get bit more mileage than bp 98 octane (gives more power)
  13. The TRD CAI will fit, but because the trd pod filter is long and wide, and it will be rubbing against the fog lights if you leave it as is. your solutions: # use k&n RX-3900-1 pod filter instead of the trd pod filter much better fitting; or # use custom elbow join, to move the pod away from the pod light; or # cut the TRD CAI pipe; see link below about trd cai http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=3414
  14. when i had the stivo hoisted for wheel rotation, i had a good look underneath, and saw that the pipes from the extractors to the cat, and from the cat-back is much larger diameter to the cat. i picture it like a straw that is sqeezed. was just thinking, factory cats are normally more restrictive (less flow). putting a higher flow cat would mean more exhaust flow, which means more power and marginally noiser. with higher flow cat, on the stivo would 1 experience reduced engine responsiveness at lower rpm? but gain more hp at higher rpm? does anyone what the stivo's factory cat flow numbers are? e.g. ? CFM tia :)
  15. Hey, with the stock stivo, the most restrictive bit appears to be the cat. has any one just changed the factory cat to something "less" restrictive? / bigger? :P
  16. and here too http://www.2003corolla.org/diy.php?diy=16 btw - does any one know the "inside diameter" of the coolant hose? so 1 could get the correct size "brass barb fitting" tia
  17. Hey Sunny_bill, "Low King Springs" Part No's: KTFL-105 (front) & KTRL-106 (rear) RRP is $ 155.00 + GST per pair (quoted by King Springs) they lower your vehicle (ZZE122) approximately 30-35mm from factory std height. *Note: (Eye brow height is measured, on flat ground, from centre of wheel up to guard.
  18. Skitzo, is Cypher = Cypher Industries? at 1/9 Blamey Place O'CONNOR WA 6163 B)
  19. Thanks all for the advice :D
  20. Hi all :P has anyone used non-TRD extractors on the ZZE123 sportivo? e.g. DC Sports? or others?? it seems there is more extractor choice for ZZE122 non-sportivo.
  21. Hi, they refer to different things. Model Code = ZZE123 Engine Code = 2ZZ-GE B)
  22. further info: The TRD supercharger is designed for 1ZZFE engine, not suitable for stivo's :( http://www.trdusa.com/installMan.asp?pdf=00602-17620-10x.PDF The Blitz supercharger is designed for celica application of 2ZZGE engine. space might be an issue, fitting the intercooler, and hosing :( see link below, for pics ~ USD$5K http://www.blitz-na.com/Blitz_Comp_Celica.htm http://www.fensport.co.uk/partsfiles/zzt230tuning.htm
  23. i believe the blitz kit is design for celica's, and their engine bay is different to ours. did explore supercharging option on stivo, but it's difficult due to 11.5 compression ratio. unless once changed stock pistons to high compression pistons and use avgas :P
