  1. hmm. the automobile clubs are generally good. i'm with rac, in w.a., paid ~ $700/year. unfortunately they have a $750 allowance which does NOT cover performance mods. e.g. covers things like sterio system upgrades, etc. best to check around for insurers that cover mods ;)
  2. the most plausible explanation could be the use or non-use or air conditioning.
  3. did u alter your seating position as well ← nope! seating position stayed the same. i noticed mileage has improved ~ 360km, with fuel gauge at half way mark.
  4. hey all, I noticed after i had reset my ecu, my car now runs lower rpms (with and without a/c on). e.g. idling: b4 = 1000rpm; after = 800rpm 100km/h: b4 = 3400-3500rpm; after = 3200-3300rpm any thoughts???
  5. there are different consensuses about this. some say, take it easy for 1st 10,000km then fang it; whilst other's say fang it from day-0. it all depends on how long you intend to keep the car...
  6. The sportivo 2003-2004 windows are all "power-windows". Note: only the driver side is fully automatic e.g. single-press to wind the window down/up. The rest requires that you hold down wind down/up button.
  7. yoh! sogoe! welcome aboard... i'm perth based 2
  8. Well on the European websites it states that the t-sport gets a 20mm lower ride height due to a different spring set up. Quiet interesting that AUS hasnt done the same :( :( :( ← from Toyota DE site, if indicative of oz/sa specs looks as though the new t-sport/sportivo is heavier!!, longer!, wider!, and lower :) Kerb Weight = 1325-1325Kg (sportivo's 1185-1200kg) Gross Weight = 1655kg (sportivo's 1630kg) Lenght = 4200mm (sportivo's 4175mm) Width = 1710mm (sportivo's 1695mm) Height = 1440mm (sportivo's 1470mm
  9. Jabz, is that new town toyota, in welshpool, w.a.???
  10. shaohaok, nice wheels slotted rotors too :P how much did it set you back? how light are enkei's compared to the stock stivo ones?
  11. Hey BlackRolla, best to check with the insurers. RAC, in W.A. for instance, will insure up to $750 in mods (e.g. speaker system) :( the catch is, it cannot be performance enhancing.
  12. Hey TRD, i'd use Penrite HPR 5 - Semi-synthetic SAE 5W-40, on my 10K oil change.. The guy's are spot on "SAE 5W/10W-30", designed for low load applications or for winter use in extreme cold (it's an all purpose fuel recommended by toyota) just my 5cents worth
  13. Hey BlackRolla, was the simota cai kit, this part number: SIM-CA53? any ideas what the kit comes with? was qoted $199 + delivery.
  14. Hey hicam, this extended warranty, is that the 5yr / 100,000km? btw - wat's up with the ITG filter? :D
  15. Hey dale2176, visit TRD CAI - Install tips http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...p?showtopic=711 Installed CAI pics (Danthuyer) http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...ype=post&id=103 Installed CAI pics (Screaminrolla) http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...arage_mod&id=26
  16. Hey Screaminrolla, i have not embarked on the suspension mod yet, is the whiteline front swaybar thicker than the rear swaybar? cause front swaybar increases understeer and a rear swaybar increases oversteer. how do you find the car's handling? e.g. more oversteer or understeer? tia :P
  17. afyfe, you done your 5K service yet? fyi - 15K service is optional according to the toyota service techs. btw - has anyone used penrite 10w40? thinking of using that on my 10K oil change
  18. Just my 20c ← thanks 4 the advice IZZ-FE :D
  19. memebr # 1oo????? you havetn posted in a while !!!! welcome back anyway ;) i got quoted totally different number to you...i will post when i get back to work tomorrow morn ;( ← kewl.. waiting 4 the post
  20. Hi all, i've have a 2004 corolla sportivo. i am thinking of getting suspension mods done in stages. stage1 - swaybars stage2 - strut tower brace stage3 - coil springs/shocks Whilteline recommended the following: Qty. Code Description 1 BTR77 Heavy duty swaybar-rr 1 BTF72 Heavy duty swaybar-rr 2 K862589SPORT Koni Shock Absorber 2 K86101365SPORT Koni Shock Absorber 1 KSB603 Strut tower brace 1 KCA415 Camber adj bolt kit-15mm 1 73206 WL h/duty coil spring - pair 1 73205 WL h/duty coil spring - pair my sportivo is 100% street driven, no track work intended. i just want to lower the car and reduce the body roll. need your opinions: + does the strut tower brace do much for the sportivo? + i intend to use the existing stock 16" rims and wheels 195/55R16 87V, so are the koni shocks adequate? + can i run 205/50R16 87V on the stock RIMS? + for those who have kept stock rims, and lowered their suspension, what is the driver's view like? e.g. sportivo's odd seating position. thanks in advance
  21. Hi all, my car just had 5000KM service done. The oil used by my toyota dealership was MOBIL SUPER XHP 20W-50
  22. Got my recall letter today! 25/080/04 anyone else from W.A. with the recall letter?
  23. peekay34, how much difference is your t-sport with the unichip? in terms of engine responsiveness from low rpm to high rpm. which unichip did you use? how much did that set you back? did you install that yourself?
  24. Thats the exact same as I have and exact same as I paid... I bought mine from one of the best suspension places in Perth... not the best but certainly a reliable place that really made the handeling improve unbelievably (I have an ascent... not sportivo) Skitzo, what is the name of the suspension place you used in perth? do they do eibach suspension kit too? :D
  25. 03MikeSportivo, Was the Trd cold air intake installation a perfect fit or did u need to do some mod to the kit? How about the cold air intake sensor? Where abouts is the air filter now? Any pics? thanks :D
