  3. Looks like you guys got things well under way.. im cool with that. Meeting spot sounds good. Cruise there, meet.. drive up. Drive to skyhigh sounds like a good idea pete. If anything.. we can eat there or go eat somewhere else.. BYO sounds like a bad idea driving around up there though. And 5bux fee is small price to pay for photos and great views. If you could pete.. scope things out.. since ur that way.. would be greatly appreciated.. or if im free one day.. we just spend a day scoping things out more and deciding then too! I'll let you know ok
  4. Spotted another fellow grey zre today at vic roads sunshine plaza. I think it was an ascent, he had 15" or 16" rims with red lip, some badges and some stickers. Good for you buddy!
  5. Lol at tomee. Been the most problematic of us all. On sunday night, me and tomee both check our piping, checked our maf sensors, sprayed it, put hydroshield on, reset ecu. Went for recon cruise around mountains the next day. All day i pushed my zre. No light (knock on wood), but tomee's came on. Maybe the models ecu's are different? Ascent to Levin ZR? But i doubt it. But before we all go rushing forward.. lets see wat toyota says with their diagnostic hoo haa.
  6. RECON RUN GOING AHEAD TODAY GUYS! (Despite some of us worrying about engine check lights coming on) Keep you guys updated! All 5 zres are out today too! Miracle. Me, shinobi, Dwee, Jskill, Le.vinh.zr
  7. it wont come on.. it wont come on.. it wont come on... please.. it wont come on
  8. Was it worth it ?? Did you beat the type R ? Or were there 2 sighs .. 2 sighs.. if i bet the type r.. than i'd be running sportivos Anyways.. this engine light is still proving to be quite a problem. Now dwee's just came on too. Theres a few things me, shinobi and dwee are deciding on. 1. Shinobi took his to toyota, they said they'll change the O2 sensor and maf sensor and that should fix it. 2. Theres oil residue on our pod and it may be setting the engine light on from the maf sensor. Thinking of getting a cheap non-oiled one and installing it to see how that goes. 3. Its running a bit lean and needs to be tuned at a workshop. Can anyone help on this? I know its probli nothing major.. but its a worrying thing seeing check engine light come on They should of had something on the installation manual about this. That would at least help put our minds at ease.
  9. Raced an integra type r last nite. Came home.. parked.. engine light came on! :( Resetting ecu now. Sigh...
  10. Yeah left lee a note on his page too! Didnt want him to miss out. le.vinh.zr and jskillz are a probable yes too! Yes vinh.. mr white trd zre. Havnt seen him around forums in agess! Looks like a good turnout indeed! Hope to see everyone there!
  11. I seriously didnt think twice that the carwash brush was damaging my car and putting scratches in it. Until several months ago.. wen the zre boys told me get a mit and stop using the brush. If i knew that.. i would of never used the damn brush! stupid stupid stupid!
  12. I think its just for assurance guys. Maybe we're being a little over the top. Melbourne does get quite wet. And i rather have something than nothing
  13. Sorry guys!! I didnt know how to change the title! LOL! But yeah i thought everyone was following the latest posts.. dont know why the 2nd of may came up. But it is locked in for the 16TH OF MAY SUNDAY 2010 As the next few weeks progress.. we'll organise meet spots, pre car washes or wateva. And yes, i still gota go for a test run and recon. I'll keep you guys updated too! Sorry for any hassle on the date dilemma. But yeah.. we did decide that it was moved to the 16th!
  14. Poor tomee.. as for 1/4 mile time, are you serious? its not even worth it. maybe for a laugh. 18seconds? who knows.. and for my cars' pride and sake.. i dont want to know. :P
  15. Installs went well. Mine went first and the others were pretty straight forward. We didnt do anything about the lower bracket, you could if you wanted to.. find some way of mounting it. We all left the silicone hose as it was. If you got foglights which you do being a zr, once you put ur bumper back in place it will sit nice and firm. We used tape as a temporary way of stopping water coming in. We think that mite be an issue so we're gonna spend another day and try to waterproof it a bit more if we can. We'll definitely get the hydroshield for it though. Took about 2.5-3hrs on each. We werent rushing or anything. Big thanks to tomee and pete today. And charlie for the emergency help wen we needed it!
  16. Yeah we'll lock it in Tash. May 16th! Sunday. I'll try find some time to head down there first and check things out
  17. Just installed Injen cold air intake today with shinobi and dwee. All the installs went great. A bit tricky with the silicone piping but fitting was pretty straight forward. Improvement at mid range with torque from about 3.5/4k all the way to 6k rpm redline. Sounds great. Dresses engine bay nicely. Take some photos wen i can. (Poor tomees zre engine light just came on, hope it turns out okay and mine doesnt come on.. :(
  18. Hey guys, Me, shinobi and Dwee installed our Injen cold air intakes today. Everything went fine. Suction starts about 3.5/4 all the way to 6 redline. Slight improvement in torque at mid range. Anyways.. I just got a phone call from shinobi saying his engine light just came on while driving. Any ideas of why this is happening? Im pretty sure we installed it all correctly. I drove my car home, trip was about 20mins and my engine light didnt come on. HELP??
  19. Congrats on the stivo mate. Yeah a few of us zre boys normally meet up on most friday nites. We're from the west side. On ideas; depends what your after. A nice street cruiser daily, a quick point to point, track car. There are many options to choose. If your staying with stock rims, then definitely new tyres. Bridgestone/Toyo/Yokohama. For improve handling and control. Lowering for better looks and improved handling and centre of gravity. Lowering springs (king springs/pedders/eibach) or if you got the money coilovers (buddy clubs/trd). Or go more suspension stuff like swaybars and strut braces to stiffen chassis Exhaust system and cold air intake (CAI). Helps engine breathe better. A lot of stivos i see around normally are lowered, exhaust, CAI and HID's lights. Its up to you. Johnnie
  20. Of course you can come charlie! Anytime mate!! Depends on how long you stay. If its just a short time. Any motel could do? Or hotel if you want to spend more. Look online. If i had my house i'd invite you to stay. lol. Even if you come down on another date, buzz one of us boys and we'll meet up, take you out. I thought we're installing CAI's this Sunday? :P I'm good for the 16th! Charlie, you're more than welcome to tag along! :D Oh yeah woops. Better scrap that then. Maybe install cai's then cruise around eh. at 5-6krpm like you pete. :P
  21. Hrmmm. I think we'll have to push this months meet to next month. This month seems a busy one for most. How about i throw a date out there. MAY 16th Sunday? I mite do a lil cruise up there first to scope things out. Anyone free this sunday to check things out? If not, i'll still go myself.
  22. I got king springs.. 500 from The Tyre Factory installed. Sits much better than stock, handles much better and less bodyroll. But im gonna reset my rears too, after a few months of it being lowered the rear gap just looks so BIG!
  23. if you have foggies the pod sits right on top on the foggie and gives it a firm fit...if you dont have foggies it will most definately move around, as the bracket on the elbow dosent fit our cars Thanks charlie. So wat do you say tom? Lets just install it!
