  1. Hey Blue_Stivo, With your rear skirt did you just trim it back and fit a 'down pipe tip' to keep it from melting? Coz my dealer is trying to say it wont fit at all Which iknow is wrong, as heaps of you guys have it on your stivo's So is it just a case of cutting around the exhaust tip? Cheers Also Waiwong... How much did your C-One rear skirt cost you? and was there any cutting to make it fit? Thanx
  2. Hey Bangn Personally I would leave off your CAI and exaust until after your service. As we all know car dealers are a dodgy mob, and I wouldnt put it past them that they would make a list of what you have done to the car, to kick your **** later. take it easy
  3. Cool, im getting some. Straight away after the price drops!!!!! <_<
  4. Hey Azz Yeah that insurance is pretty good, if mine had been that low I may of got it (mine was $1800 for the turbo), coz my history aint that good (diu, accident, speeding). But it doesnt matter coz I still have my old ED falcon that I am planning on dropping the running gear from a wrecked XR6T into, strip out the interior and ditch all things i dont need. imagine a 1400kg falcon with 300rwkw . and im going to do it as a sleeper, its got hail damage, ten thousand stone chips, minor panel damage. cant wait to kill some HSV's/Skylines/WRX's/Spra/porche??. I figure im going to need 10-12k and a ****load of weekends to do it. Gunna be fun. B) Take it easy
  5. Hey All I just spoke to my Toyota dealer about the cease in production of the sportivo, and he made it very clear that they are only stopping production in South Africa (because of cost issues with freight). They are going to run out the remaining face lifted models and begin production of the new '06 sportivo in Japan. expect it to land here Mid-late next year. :D As if they were going to drop such an affordable popular car. Slurdog B)
  6. Hey Azza, Love the car!!, I got pre-approved finance for a XR6T ute just prior to getting the Stivo, But I dropped it coz of insurance (Im 23). It was an absolute rocket to drive. I have to wait a few years then i'll get a used one. In regards to the auto versus manual in the utes, in stock form the manual is about .5 secs quicker over the quarter consistantly. BUT the manual is on the limit in terms of torque capabilites, so as soon as you start to get more power the auto becomes the faster car. I am pretty sure that ute you talked about (400atw)is an auto. XR6T with Ford edit is a mean bit of kit. Very Jealous Enjoy man :D
  7. Hey Mintos, I completely agree with ya on that. The engine makes basically the same power per litre as an M3 (from motor mag) and there are not many engines out there that can rev like ours, bar the exotics. Its a sweet package. I used to be a ford man, owning 3 diff models. but then I dragged off a mates XR6 (non torbo) and I bet that i would beat him around a track too. Are XR6's enough of a sports car for you guys? :P
  8. How about the most sportivo's used by the same company.-4- Silver (mine, sales rep) White (sales rep) Black (sales rep) Blue (accounts) p.s the racing to the pub after work on fridays is always fun!!!. :D :D
  9. Yeah I know the power fc does engine management, But what does the RSM do?? ;)
  10. Hey guys, What is a APEXI RSM? and what does it do? is it like the power FC or like those G-Tech gizmos that monitore your power/accel/Gforces? Cheers Slurdog
  11. hi orbit love the two door!! Are you guys over there right hand drive or left?, i ask coz i want to look into doing a personal import. Cheers
  12. I have read that if the lift kicked in @ 5500rpm the it would be a much better car. Do you think not? ← y stop at 5500rpm? i'd like lift to start at 2200rpm, with the same kick it has at 6000rpm, and pull the same way all the way to 8200rpm. hrm, then why would i need the L in the vvtL-i? there is a reason y it starts at 6000rpm. making lift kick in before 6000rpm would create another torque hole, coz it's not within the optimum range of the second cam profile. although 5500rpm is not very unreasonable, the only reason i have known ppl to have adjusted the lift point to 5500rpm is coz the track they were RACING on, 6000rpm made them sit between gears and trading a bit of power for smoothness and saving time for shifts made it beneficial. but it's only at some tracks. if u want to stay in the powerband between shifts for drag racing, set a higher redline, or use some new ratios. hope that helps B) ← That does help heaps, Thanks. Setting a higher redline, I guess i would be able to do that with the uni-chip, yeah? ;)
  13. Cheers Z Very helpful info and the power figures (125-130atw) sound bloody good!!! but, how many k's should I run it in for? 1000-2000km? I dont want to stuff a fridgid engine early in the game!! Slurdog
  14. ~Is there any known way of lowering the lift kick in from 6000rpm to something like 5500rpm? wat for? ← I have read that if the lift kicked in @ 5500rpm the it would be a much better car. Do you think not?
  15. Thanks. :D Do you know anyone who has done such work? What should I expect if I use CAI, CES and uni-chip, then Dyno it. Is the tuning process complicated or can it be done easily at the dyno?
  16. Hi people's I have just bought an '05 sportivo (love it)and am planning my upgrade process. this forum has been very helpful with CAI's, but I need some help with a few things. ~who makes a decent 2.5'-3' full exhaust system? and how much should I expect to pay? ~I have seen dyno sheets for a standard Stivo and there is a massive torque hole in the mid range, are there computer mods to fix this? I would love to get torque up to around 250nm (if thats possible without a blower) <_< ~Is there any known way of lowering the lift kick in from 6000rpm to something like 5500rpm? Cheers for the help.
