I just learnt from my dad that I'm not insured under the policy.. I'm just a nominated driver (i'm not exactly clear about this, but I just saw my dad and mum's name in the policy). But anyway, my dad told me it won't be wise to call up my insurance company and tell them about it.. I'm at a loss here... I'm getting lectured for a friggin accident I didnt cause and my dad is telling me I can't go and call up my insurance company. So wtf did he get insurance in the first place when I'm the only one driving the car!

Shiza.. three times! I got done once ever for accidentally running a redlight WHILE doing an 'illegal u-turn' (the lights were wierdly positioned and I wasn't paying particular attention, I swear I thought it was green) then all of a sudden i see blue and red flashing behind me.. thats the only encounter i had being pulled over.

Ok.. Here it goes. Going to work this arvo.. I got onto the hwy (leach hwy for perthians) and was driving alongside this 4 tonne delivery truck, just driving normally.. Futher down the road I see this moron in a trailer backing out on the hwy.. YES, BACKING OUT.. I was like wtf is this idiot doing!? Backing out onto a hwy where cars are going at 80km/h! So I slow down ahead making sure I can stop in time if I happen to get there and he's still trying to straighten up. Some how he managed to get onto the left lane while I was on the right (truck is next to me on the left) So by the time I got closer, the trailer was just accelerating away.. Then the truck next to me decides that he doesnt want to slow down and cuts into my lane (no signals whatsoever, just turns) At that point before he turns I was just around the mid section of his truck.. Obviously after he trys to turn, he began squeezing me into my own lane! Where the hell else can I go since I'm in the right lane.. So I tried to brake as hard as I can while trying to inch as much as I can away from him and towards the curb while horning at him in hopes he'll turn back into his own lane.. I started feeling the scraping and I guess that was as far as I could go without goin up the curb. Just before he clears me, I hear a BANG, and off comes my left mirror. At that point I was just hoping it was the mirror and a tad bit of scrap off the rims. At least he had the decency of signaling to get on the road shoulder to sort things out after the prang.. Exchanged details and headed off.. What ****** me off was that my work place was only a couple of turnings away! Okay.. So now it comes to insurance claims. After I explained exactly what happened. It most likely is the truckers fault am I correct? He did admit it was his fault at that point. I've never had to go to insurance companies for stuff like that so I dont know the exact proceedures so could you guys help me out? Would my premiums and excess be raised due to this? I'm still on P's so my excess is already pretty damn high as it is..

Yup, mines a stivo.. Pfft, 215 aint that much to pay for a reputable intake.. Just go straight for it rather than get cheaper ones I reckon..

Yeah, the pod ITSELF isnt $215.. It comes with a mounting that fits our sitvo maf sensor.. I ordered the intake thru a mate.. PM msg me if you want his msn contact and he'll hook you up.. The noise from it unfortunately isnt anything impressive I must say.. On cold start ups you DO hear the sucking sound but it seems to go away after 5 mins of driving when the engine warms up.. When you plant your foot down on the throttle, you hear this noise that can only be discribed as errr... a low gurgle.. Not much improvement when it hits lift.. Actually it takes away the stock scream (which sounds like a ferrari F355) and makes it sound grunty-ier. However, there is an improvement in throttle response from the 4-6k region in 1st and 2nd.. It just races up to 6k from 4k like when you hit lift in 6k to 8k.. plant your foot down in 3rd or 4th and you'll start hearing that gurgle. Thats about as much as I discovered since getting it.. :P

How often do cops pull you over if you arent breaking the law and much less ask to pop the hood? I choose apexi also because like what influx said.. they have the best filters on the market and tests have proven it :P

I only asked cuz I was thinking of what tires to change to next after the stock turanzas go.. I would like to keep the stock rims so I have to stick to 16s or is it also possible to use 17s? A pretty stupid question but I would like to clarify <_<

What are our stock ones rated at? [start of rant] I dont mean to be the idiot of the group but I reckon HID lamps distract and blind oncoming traffic.. Personally I get really annoyed with cars on the opposite side with HID lamps esp those high end mercs and bmws.. [End of rant]

Whats the maximum width of tires that would fit on our stock stivo rims? Can you squeeze 215s onto ours? I'm wondering if they made Goodyear Eagle F1s in the thread width of our stock rims..

Most importantly you werent hurt.. badly at least.. And its a good thing the engine is still intact and its drivable.. 12k of repairs, yikes, the girl must be feeling as bad as you are I guess :(

Yeah, i was thinking of boxing the pod and venting a hose into the box and have the other end face next to the front grill so it'd suck in cooler air when the car is moving.. I'm just wondering what sorta materials to use for the box.. aluminium conducts heat well so if i used aluminium for the box, i'm still back to square one..

I reckon you need at least a few thousand horses to spin those turbines hey.. LOL.. :D No turbine spin = no boost = lots and lots of turbo lag..

I just noticed that after installing my apexi intake, the engine idles at just above 1k even when its cold.. whereas it'd usual do about 2k on a cold start.. and it dropped to bout 8-900 when warmed up.. wierd

Tell me more bout this aircon ducting that you speak of... i've heard my mate talking about putting his pod into a box and directing some aircon ducting into it to make it suck cold air.. but dont you have to turn on the aircon for the pod to be sucking cold air?
