  1. I'm sure you all are aware these coporate bodies will do nothing if there isnt a lawsuit at bay.. Simple.. Why spend money rectifying a problem when you can just keep holding out as long as you can? Obviously thats not the right thing to do.. but I'm very skeptical they'll really do anything about it in the next 6 months.
  2. Yup, sorry.. I didnt mean to go off topic.. Just had to rant Sorry..
  3. I swear for as long as I drive this stivo, I'm never going back to the service centre.. It cost me $99 for a friggin oil change and $70 off that $99 was for labour.. Screw that, I'm not paying some dude $70 to change my friggin oil! And driving into that place is bad luck.. Whats worse is when the guy handed me back my car keys he said they changed the oil AND air filter.. YEAH RITE! I knew they wouldnt change the filter since I had my apexi intake there. What BS.. Oh, $70 included labour and to check the car was working properly. I'd know damn well myself if my stivo is working alright or not.. pfft
  4. Gosh.. you got your service yesterday and the prang happened today.. I got my 5000km service and my prang happened on the very same day! Services are bad luck I tell you.. baddd luck
  5. Yeah its probably because we have sh!tty dealers They should have sent the car to the workshop prior to delivery to remove the brake squeel..
  6. Yeah, I had that at first when I got the car.. But after complaining to the toyota guys.. They took it into the workshop and said the tightened the handbrake and deglazed the brakedisks or something.. But it actually did stop squeeling for a good 2 months and the handbrake was stiff as.. When I was about to drive the car out of the workshop that day I looked into the car and wondered howcome they didnt put the park brake on and realised it was tightened soooo much that you just needed to lift it like 3-4 clicks and it was full lock already. Took a while of getting used to but now its a gone back to its original height.. As for the loud engine revs.. Well, I dont think thats a problem. A 1.8L 4 banger is sure to scream when pushed hard. The only thing I get worried is when I'm doing 180-190km on the freeway and the engine fully sounds like all hell is breaking lose in there and its about to fall off its mountings inside.
  7. When you said pffff... did you mean it doesnt reach the 215 top speed or did you manage to do more? I reckon you've gotta max out all gears well at least starting from 3rd gear onwards to get a high top speed.. cuz if you dont, 6th gear will do bugger all in terms of pulling it faster.. So you've definately gotta take it up to the redline in 5th, 4th and maybe 3rd.. apart from acceleration and distance covered on the road, what difference would it make to the top speed if u maxed out 3, didn't max out 4 but max out 5 b4 shifting into 6? see.. if you maxed out say 4 you'd have already pulled faster in terms of your current speed than if you maxed out 5th and not 4th first.. the higher you go in gears the less pull they have.. Well, simply put.. it'd pull faster to a higher speed in a lower gear when you're maxing out that gear as compared to it pulling very very slowly if you tried doing it just in 5th.. Correct me if I'm wrong please..

  9. Shizaa.. i just cant seem to get it in my head.. I guess you just have to go out and try it for yourself huh ;)
  10. But ours seems to be more widespread compared to those other cars.. I mean I'm sure everyone here has experience 1-2 shift grinding.. on a constant basis as well.
  11. I believe you mate.. Cuz I've done it once myself. Only once! Man.. the feeling of getting it correct is sooo rewarding :D Just makes you wanna give yourself a pat on the back!
  12. But you gotta remember something.. those cars dont go to 8.2k as like the stivo does..
  13. The cops might have you pulled over for that :D They could probably consider that a distraction..
  14. Such practice comes at a price I must say.. :P
  15. Dont even talk about the power windows hey.. My lights flicker when I engange reverse!
  16. The only way I can imagine keeping the car in lift and not taking it to the red line is to keep your foot on the throttle thru the gear change from 1st to 2nd.. That way the revs are still kept up but in neutral.. But I dont suppose that would be too good for the car either.. Lets just face it, we have a crap tranny :( High revving sports cars like the rx8 and s2k dont have this problem of shifting in high gear, mind you, those redline/cutout above 9k revs.. There really is no comparison there since ours is 29k and those are like 60-70k.. Just stating a matter of fact
  17. Why dont you share with us no0bs how to do it? I'm being serious.. How do you shift then?
  18. Thats the exact same thing I get! And I only find it so when you try shift above 8k! But when I shift around high 7k it shifts fine but you just dont land in lift in 2nd.. I think if this is the problem, its not worth taking it up to the redline or fuelcut cuz when the gearstick gets stuck, you have to yank it out firstly and secondly, it doesnt go in smoothly into 2nd gear.. the revs you lose doing that will bring you straight back down to 5k+ and the whole shifting sequence is stuffed up... Just shift before hitting 8k and you'll save yourself some revs and your engine a longer lifespan as well
  19. I've still got the stock airbox sitting around in the garage.. And if they want to see the stock airbox in the car, ill show them the stock air box.. But do you really think a simple toyota part like an induction kit is gonna raise our kW figures to the rated 141kW as compared to high performance aftermarket products, imho, I dont think so... <_<
  20. Induction kit? doesnt that mean an intake of some sort? What about those of us who already have modded intakes? :o
  21. I've got the photoblocker sprayed onto my plates.. havent exactly tested its effectiveness yet.. So its more like a possible preventive measure to hopefully save my **** if I get flashed.. The once I got pulled over, the copper noticed it when he stood beside my car.. Especially on the back plate, its not so obvious on the front one cuz its pretty low and you'd have to crouch beside it to actually notice a layer of something on there.. I managed to get away with it by telling the cop this car was a demo and that its not my car.. Parents got it 2nd hand.. Which obviously was bull Anyway, he bought it and just wrote me my ticket for the illegal u turn <_<
  22. Does anyone know for sure what band of radar the stationary speed cameras and hand helds run on?
  23. Cheers mate.. that help a lot :D Addressed every point that I was thinkin about.. So the panel beaters I go to are of my choice? What about the damaged mags? OEM stivo ones are like 1.1k with turanza rubber.. Both front and back mags are damaged :( How do I get the mags replaced?
  24. Far out.. Those slight dents and paint chips cost $900.. I think the cost of repairs for mine arent gonna be any cheaper than 3 grand for the panel beating alone and probably another 1k for the respray and 1k for the rims.. :o
