  1. Well, there isn't much difference. Genuine parts and Aftermarket parts are always similar anyway. The only thing is if you have genuine parts, you can have them installed by Toyota Dealer during a service or something. And you can get Toyota's warranty regarding installation. If you DIY it, the price to get the genuine fog lights+surrounds is $230 (the cost of the wiring, relay wouldn't exceed $50, so total will be around $280); the price to get the aftermarket fog lights+genuine surrounds+accessories is $240, only 40 bucks difference, really not significant.

Anyway, nothing's wrong with any helpful posts and information sharing here in this forum.

hmmm sorry for ignorance but what about toyota's harness for the fog lights and relay there is no price there? question does the ATX models have the wiring harness sitting behind the suround bezels? and for the relay? or will toyota charge you extra for a harness kit?

  2. Hi guys, just got the fog lights installed with Melbourne City Toyota.

    Price List:

$220 Fog lights + surrounds (genuine Toyota Parts made in China, got them from a friend)

$370 Toyota genuine stalk (bought it from Toyota genuine parts)

$100 Toyota genuine relay (bought it from Toyota genuine parts)

    $100 Labour cost

    Total: $790

I got the fog lights+surrounds cheap, but they are genuine parts, although they are made in China.

As I've been told by the guy in Toyota, if I buy them in the dealer, it'll cost me around $800.

I can't help myself to buy a genuine stalk, it has factory warranty. If you want a cheap way to do this, get a switch intalled, which could cost you very little.

I think you can also get the relay somewhere else. The only reason I didn't do that is because Toyota can only install its own genuine parts.

    The labour cost is fine.

I think on eof the reason why the genuine parts here in OZ are expensive is because they are all made in Japan. Don't why they can't be made locally.

The parts I bought from my friend are made in China and I guess he got them in China, that's why they are a lot cheaper. The good thing about genuine parts is they perfectly fit and you may ask Toyota dealer to install them for you.

A cheap way I can suggest:

$220 fog lights + surrounds (If my friend can get some more in stock, I'll let you know.)

$150 switch + wiring accessories + relay (Jaycar is a promising place to find everything you want.)

$100 Labour (In this case, Toyota dealer won't be able to help you to do the job. You may either find a auto sparky or even just DIY it if you are a handy man.)

    Total: $500 ($400 DIY)

    CHEERS

This price is certainly attractive and reasonable, do let me know if your friend managed to source it from China. Cheers mate.

I know this going to sound silly but whats wrong with grand styles fog lights you get

    1. pair of fog lights + wiring + relay + switch for $170.00 shipment $10 Austalia wide.

    2. Pair of surrounds geniune from toyota $70.00 a pair

    3. Labour for grand style to fit them 2 to 3 hrs job $130.00

    Total $470 fitted with warranty.

And I have seen them they look same as the OEM I have ordered a set. Iam mean even Jason(Bondie had after market et which he was happy with)

  4. Kings have actually made the car ride smoother took it for good drive today.

bloody rain cannot take good picture of the car washed up and lowered so i can update my signature

if it rains 2morrow then i will have to wait till next weekend bummer car sitting nicely now and getting even more heads turning.

I feel happier now too cause people are also liking the gold wheels. on the white.

getting my Club 20 logo made up to stick on fron windscreen too tommrow.

    AUR30N

  5. I thought i may add the colour i was thinking off white so it suits the body of the car and get noticed throught the goldie rims.

If you do paint them white, you do realise they will get dirty easily right.

DJ I knowut what other colour would you paint it? it would look pretty silly i can paint then gold but then it would be hard to see the the gold rims.

I will paint them if i find that seeing them dirty looks wrong then i will hit them with black coat.

    trial and error i suppose.

  6. but the truth comes out if an exhust place can gurantee me in dyno figures of kw boost then I might be intrested.

With that fuel economy talk aside as that is something different, CES does have an in-house dyno and they will be able to show gains should they make something.

If they have inhouse dyno and can prove a decent boots on KW then they have winning product and will get lotsa recomendations.

then all you have to do is way the amount of kw this exhuast has given you extra over whats it has costed you for the custom job and see if it value for money. for custom job mandrel bent etc your looking at least $2000 +

it costed me for pair of haeders for my windors v8 in the cortina 4 into 1 $1800

  7. for me there is no real way to test fuel economy drop cause everyone had diffrent driving methods and traffic conditions

so i don't care what anyone promise me....... full stop

a diffrent tone to ur normal exhuast tone might sound like it faster and quicker.

but the truth comes out if an exhust place can gurantee me in dyno figures of kw boost then I might be intrested.

  8. Yeah painted calapers all ways look cool with the right rims might do mine this weekend. :D

I thought i may add the colour i was thinking off white so it suits the body of the car and get noticed throught the goldie rims.

  9. i guess i need to trade in the Prodigy for the ZR6 to make it into the group... <_<

sorry i missed u mate add speedz to my list as well as bri90 were a growning bunch up here

and cranky....y are so many sydney ppl coming to live in qld then?

cheaper living costs than sydney - I know about 8 families that thought queenslands was the dream state and sold up and moved up there 6 months to 1 year there back in sydney.

    1. any location when your on holidays and don't have to work and get on the pis* is a dream place.

    2. QLD maybe more laxed in pace and cheaper but what good is it if you can't get steady job.

    3. Once sold up in NSW and you have used most your money in QLD surviving its impossible to buy back into sydney real estate investments and now these families are renting cause of there stupidy.

no offence qld great holiday place or unless u been born up there and have the contacts.

anyway getting back on topic - the poll still tells the story NSW is leader and thank god for no cheating on double voting :D hahahaha

P.S. Hey ELEGNT - your white walls suit the colour of your car " apart from white , Blue second best" :P :P :P :P

  10. May I also mention

I have found about 10 suppliers thai & malaysia/singapour and china that do kits

they may have similar kits not all the same either some PU other fiber glass or abs.

also wald kits 4 diffrent variantions look very similar but have closer look and all is revealed.

kits begin from AUD$200 to AUD$700 then + postage extra which is the killer part

  11. I don't think you will see the Aurion logo and there all camrys in asia or ZR6

but might have ones that say toyota or plain no logo.

    AUR30N

As I said, may be interested if I can see picks of non-TRD ones (frankly, my car is not a TRD, don't want to pretend it is) Do they have Sportivo? If not, can you possibly wrangle pics of the toyota ones if they have those?

Wulfkind - just buy the OEM ones goto toyota website and see accessories for toyota aurion there 50 bux pair so 100 bux for a set and there not all metal.

    AUR30N

  12. hmm yeah looks likle allot of silent nsw members lol

VF-X I agree sydney flooded with aurions specially with atx and presares

thats what happens when car is a fleet car the market get flooded with them just like the fords and holdens did when they were fleet cars.

    AUR30N

  13. I know they are ceasing production...

Apparently TRD Aurion conversions have ceased as of March 31st this year.

... so I wanted to know how limited my aurion is.

Unfortunately not 'limited' enough to help it gain value.

once a few get wrapped around a pole then they may get there value increase.

  14. hey man chuck some pics up would love to see it

cant understand whu yours is scraping I have had 5 adults in mine with no scrape and the same wheels ? strange mind you Im on peddeers not kings

Yeah guys I will do on the weekend like i replied to rowan i wake up dawn and come home in dusk so it will have to be saturday or even sunday when i give the girl a good wash.

atm rears sitting almost flush and the front has 2 fingers 3cm and they haven't settled yet.

with peddar i think the way it sit front lower then back stops it from scrubing.

but I spoke to the mrs who drive the beast  and she reckon very light and minimal scrubing if any at all mostly in my estate that i live in full of cicanes and windy bendy roads.only rear and like i said in previous post i think 1 of the fiber inner guards is sitting lower then usual towards the outer panel.

I have also knowticed only brief drive that i don't feel the bumps as much on the road anymore.

You know what this means i have to take another good photo to replace my old signature lol look at the gap there you can stick your whole head in there hehehehe
