I'm afraid they may not. There is only a good 30-35mm from where the stock wheels sit to the very edge of the outer guard. The 8 inch wheels with a +30 offset will extend 28mm more than stock and the 9 inch wheels with +30 offset will extend 40mm more than stock. They will either be in line with the guards, or just past it. Can't really tell till it's fitted though. But that is just asking for scrubbing. there Front 235/45/17 offset +30 Rear 255/40/17 offset +30 i was working off previous quote that a Wheelworx gave me a while back. They should sit flush with the guards. what you think?

Yea it was something that occured to me, they SHOULD sit just behind the guards... I hope :P

Just bought a pair of second hand rims from a Jap import shop in Qld that i though would look decent on my Camry o4 sportivo going to clean them up and then spray the inner 5 star patter MATT black or Glossy Black. tell me what you think will post pics up once ive completed the paint and install (since i have the orig wheels off i may aswell do the Calipers Red to and make them stand out) :D Any opinnion will be appreciated

First off sorry if this has allready been covered. However, does any one know what the deal is with backpreasure on VVT-i engines? I.e 2az-fe. Standared Camry's ive been told are tuned to the current backpreasure of the stock exuast, Where installing a 2.5" exuast catback will cause VVT-i to kick in later (i didnt think the back preasure regulated when the ECU changes cam timing? i thought this was more on the Vtech problems where its the phisical cam that changes?) So lets say that i go full catback exuast 2.5" with dual outlets "like Aurions have" no hot dog but just a Lukey Mufler (hot dog looks like **** on most cars and there annoyingly loud all the time) will this cause any issues with the VVT-i? Im heading towards the "it whont as long as you get it tuned after" answer but would love some advice. Thanks

is it a spray? or like a film like window tint..... and if u stuff it up, wots tha best thing to use to get it off? its a spray (you can get tint and then cut to size... but its allot more work involved) if you screw up when you tint just use a rag and terp... then dry it off. the procedure is really easy Steps 1: remove lights 2: wash the lights with sponge,hot soapy water 3: dry off (either let it dry or use a blow dryer ;) ) 4: spray a layer of tint and let it dry 5: if you want to go darker re spray 6: let it dry and then put them back on > you can use a blow drying ON LOW ( it can cause it to run) to help it dry faster.

another mention is this, make sure you have some turps laying around... first time i did mine the tint started to run and it made it look messy... cleaning dried/wet spray tint off plastic IS NOT cool... takes ages.

Ok thanks for the heads up > might see if i can do it with the calipers still on... I did my mates 200sx with POWER BLUE with them still on... didnt have too much trouble, just allot of newspaper and tape

I rang up MORPOWA here in SA had a nice chat to one of the tuners in there and figured out what im going to be doing with the camry, Putting funds together for F.I job > going to be ussing a TC turbo kit from the States Im going to have to move the engine bay around a bit / move the battery to the boot / move the water res / a few other mods. Theres allot more that i have to plan for but should be interesting project. for the moment just going to do a Cat back exuast > make a custom CAI and a dyno tune. Will post up progress as i go allong. thanks guys :)

hey mate Any front or rear light tint is illegal and if the pollice feel picky they will do you for it. However this sayd ive tinted the rear lights on my car and the black on white tone looks good. I havent been pulled over regarding it yet, and at the random defect station they just look at it and dont bother. You can buy Light Tint at either SUPERCHEAP AUTO / AUTO BARN / SPRINT AUTO and there around$15 to $20 if you get it any where else other then SuperCheap Auto.

Quick noobish questions (and there will be plenty of these to come now that ive started working on the camry) Custom Larger Intake Manifolds, will they only benefit F,I cars? or can you gain ponnies on a NA car? Obv CAI will be connected to it. Reason Im asking is that ive purchased a Weapon R Intake Manifold for a Scion TC and going to fit it into the 2AZ camry. Weapon R have told me there is a large HP gain with them > and reading of the Scion Life forums ive read that a few blokes have run them on NA and gained a fair bit of HP and more responce. But ide rather here if any one has any pros and cons of this mod. Cheers

Oh unless i go and put bigger cams / or FI the 2AZ most of the performance will all be psichological > but there will be noticable gains. So far ive got it all planned out right :) So once its done ill post it up with what whent in and what i got out from what i put in:)

you would hope so with the weight differences being Crank Pulley OEM 59oz NST 14oz -Alternator Pulley OEM 10oz NST 03oz -Water Pump Pulley OEM 14oz NST 06oz its not really the ponnies im after > its the Responce. having sayd that as it is i have noticed the revs are very lazy and not as responcive as they could be.

Ive been speaking to a few of the guys in NST in the states regarding a light weight pulley kit for the Scion TC or 2AZ-FE engine. Seeying as not much changes in the way for performance parts with the TC or Camry (as long as its a 2AZ-FE) most of the parts from the states are actually compatible. (im pretty sure ive read some where thought that the TC run a diff ECU? not 100% sure though on that one) There website is http://www.nonstoptuning.com/pKitToySciTC.htm the pulleys are NST02020 @$141 aust and NST02025K @$205. aust all in all around tottal of $350 (not inc postige, wich i gather that since its not that heavy shouldnt be more then $50 -60) Question i have though is this is there a place in Australia that actually make something simmilar for the 2AZ? Since its not really a poppular engine platform i wouldnt think so a 20% Underdrive Crank Pulley i can understand will cause a rise in performance + Acc responce but will a 20% Alternator & WP-Lite Water Pump KIT actually benifit performance at all? I wouldnt think so > rather it will help out Elec Components I.E Amps/CD Player etc etc Any one worked on something simmilar?
