  1. to my knowledge there is no just plug in and away u go add on alarm. i have a viper 700vr in our sportivo which i installed myself (coz its my job). go to your local car udio visual security shop and ask them for a price on a 700vr, shouldnt pay anymore the about 700 fitted. well worth it, battery back-up siren, shock sensor, 3 point immobilization, intrusion alert, use factory keys, can get add-on's like digital tilt sensors incase someone tries to steal ur wheels etc, glass break sensors, voice module ec etc.
  2. you'd be pretty safe as long as ur box size is ok and ur amps tuned well. i havent burnt a coil yet and iv given my setups a hell of a hard time :D the main thing u have to think about is try making sure u driver doesnt lose control, the easiest way to secure that is by havin a good designed and built box and LOTS OF POWER.
  3. check up higher like where ur boot hinges are. maybe thay havent sealed up properly, has it got an aftermarket wind attached??? that might not be sealed properly.
  4. it doesnt matter how many subs you have, your subs will always receive the same amount of power that the amp puts out. for example... if you have one sub with a 1000wrms amp on it it will receive 1000wrms, if you have 4 subs with 1000wrms amp on them they will all receive 1000wrms. it all depends on ur loading. an alpine amp will run at its peak in 2 ohm loading, 3 x dual 4 ohm subs will load down to 2.6 ohm so off a 1000wrms amp they will all receive 1000wrms or there abouts, if you end up with 4 ohm at the amp then you will lose power. you should pick up what im puttin down, if you dont then im not sure if i can explain it much clearer lol. to mu knowledge the m2000 will be priced at $999 at a specialist store but dont quote me. plus they are doing packs like m200 with 4 r 12's for around $2000, m2000 with 2 r 15's and stuff.
  5. just for ur information the m2000 should arrive later on this month!!!!! cant wait to use one
  6. its an ultra ultra shallow sub so i can fit the spare wheel under it doot doot dooo
  7. lets try these links, let me know if they dont work.... the material in the boot and doors is a blue/black woven material, unsure of what its name is i jus picked it from a selection swab at my motortrimmers. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/photo.p...mp;id=683528494 these are fotos of the car show in rocky http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/album.p...mp;id=683528494 dyno run link cheers
  8. ok well the car show is finally over.. the build got completed the day of set-up. will post a link to heaps of build foto's but for now ill post a foto of the boot only. also won the 4cyl naturally aspirated category on the dyno comp, got 159.4 BHP on 19" borrowed rims. Also have a video clip of dyno run on youtube tomorrow, will post link of that too.
  9. if ur still having the problem check ur battery voltage when someone cranks the motor, ur battery may be droppin below 10v on start up which can cause ur problem.
  10. yeah i sort of figured thta, i was jus more worried about it being a safety issue, maybe a fault in the casting in a batch of shafts or something.
  11. well i got a replacement, through my local repco store for $220, toyota wanted 800 trade price. there are 4 or 5 different shafts available. i took the broken shaft into toyota and they said they'v never had any problems with these shafts, they said mine blew out because of dumping the clutch. if this is the case then i take it a cant race the car on the 1/4 without runnin the risk of snapping a shaft. considering these shafts are like an inch in diameter i would have thought they would be nearly unbreakable. i had a wrx and snapped a shaft in that but i gave it the hardest time all the time and their shafts are only 3/4 inch diameter with allot more power and tourque runnin through them. p.s. im so not happy with toyota
  12. the mechanic said it looks to hav screw sheard off. i havent seen it yet but ill get it off him once its done and take some foto's, the car has 30000 k's on it. we'v sourced a shaft through our repco in town, it turned up but on full decompression it is 6 mm mlonger then the oem one. not real sure if its gonna work or not yet. there are 5 different shafts u can get for the one car. it depends on... japanese or south african built, man or auto, motor size, 5 or 6 speed. soo many shafts for one car :( we were meant to be going to brissy wednesday night. so angry at the moment and toyota want $800 for a genuine replacement and i said **** NO lol
  13. i was thinking defectiv product too but good luck fightin toyota about it, yeah its outta warranty :( i might ring toyota tomoz and see if there was one or not but from what iv read on this forum there hasnt really been any recalls for them. cheers anyways
  14. had a bloke come into work sayin he jus got a quote from toyota for the same thing but in a comry, got quoted 2000 without the harness, the harness is even dearer cause it has the nav antenna in it etc. he was much happier when we said we can do nav, bluetooth, dvd, ipod, usb for about 2k fitted.
  15. Hi all, as the title states, i need a passenger side drive shaft to suit my 2005 facelift zze123r stivo. the missus sheard it in half taking off from lights on way to work yesterday mornin, the thing is... we are going to brissy tomorrow afternoon. well.. we were meant to. anyone who has one or knows of a place to get one this info will be muchly greatly appreciated.
  16. excuse me lopez but i havent promoted any company, not once have i mentioned where i work, and i never will. o and ur work is soo good, i been talkin to a bloke on the goldy that tuned ur system, good to hear u had blown one of ur voice coils by the time u got down there, and running a 4 channel amp at full gain always does ur speakers good, o and runnin 1mm speaker wire does the speakers a world of wonders too. runnin 2 amps to one sub doesnt work well wen u use two different length sub wires either. do u want me to keep going??? i hope u enjoy ur 147ish db.
  17. type x pro's arent designed for what i am doin with it and at this stage im pretty sure 4 r splits per door is gonna do the job :D definately will be keeping posted cos there are soo many ppl eager to see this one finshed up... bad thing is we r gettin glass work done down on the goldy but i got to install it all back home so i can do a spit trip to show anyone... you's will jus hav to wait til we ome down again...
  18. OK IT'S UNDERWAY!!!!!!!!!! i know it has been a while since i first posted this but with rocky's biggest car show comin up in 5 weeks we'v had to pull our finger out and get started on the stivo, iv attached a few foto's of the collection of gear we have, the rest is still on order hopefully it should turn up monday, then wednesday we are off the goldy to get the fibreglass work/lessons done. once that is done then we r gonna start doin all nighters on it til its done and ready. not all of the gear is going in at this point but the aim is to get the boot and doors done by the show then add a few more things later on.
  19. problem solvered, got dobonsons to reset the laod bearing leafs and lift the top set too....

  22. Hi all, Recently in a moment of weakness i swapped my 98 wrx (in pieces) for a dual cab 2.8Ltr Diesel Hilux, now my problem is that it has to my best knowledge 2 inch lift, it is leaf sprung front and rear, they have used greasable shackles and tjm gas shocks, unfortunately I HAVE NO FLEX, o and not to mention the rear lsd is screwed so i need to replace that too. this weekend we have spent doing a full swivel hub kit cos the old seals were screwed and leaking. now to the point of this long story, how can i get the lux to flex more? i can post pics of suspension setup if that helps, basically if i get one wheel on high ground the car sits levelish with the oposing wheel off the ground, it has a steel tray with hardwood timber floor in the rear, i hav also tried adding approx 200kg of weight to the rear to get the shackles on more of an angle to allow the leafs to flatten out for flex but that didnt work..... didnt mean to make this so long but im trying to giv you's as much info as possible cheers all stacey. p.s does anyone hav a rear lsd for sale???
  23. open up ur steering colum and there is usually a white plug with either one or two wires to it, hav the beeper goin off an unplug things til it stops. thats the easiest way, we did it to mine when i put the alarm in it.
  24. ROFLMAO, clearly u hav not pulled one apart before or seen one apart, but.... they are stronger then a prado (which isnt hard...).
  25. its easy, go to ur local DECENT car audio shop and ask them for a toyota wiring harness, it will plug straight into ur original harness and giv u bare wire to color match to ur after market player.
