  1. Update... Charged the battery last night. Left the ground cable in place. No issues and was driving the car today. Thanks Croco for your input
  2. Thanks Croco looks like I have 6 venting caps on the top. I will completely remove them and leave the ground cable on. Less hassle that way. I was told that the charger I bought was a automatic one and just plug it in and leave it. http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Calibre-Battery-Charger-12V-8-Amp-3-Stage-Intelligent-Pulse.aspx?pid=276836&menuFrom=70603#Cross Were you able to see my photo of my battery. I am not sure if I loaded it properly.
  3. Hello all Hoping to get some advice. I have never charged a car battery before. My 2009 aurion won't start after sitting in the garage for a month. I bought a battery charger (Calibre Battery Charger - 12V, 8 Amp, 3 Stage Intelligent Pulse) from supercheap auto. I plan to charge the battery in the car. The manual stated that I will need to disconnect the ground cable and remove the vent plugs I was wondering if disconnection of the ground cable necessary? I checked a few on-line videos and others have not done this. Furthermore, I do not know where the vent plugs are. I have attached a photo of the battery. There is nothing on the sides of the battery Thanks in advance
  4. I have been meaning to post on this thread for a while... Great information on this thread about how to remove the grill. Even a novice like me did it. Got the grill from Thailand as recommended. Thanks for the correspondence from Bondie! Thought I would post some pics of the chrome grill on a black Aurion. See what you think? Cheers
  5. Hi Guys This is from the build it yourself section on the toyota website (they have since removed the link). It is based on an AT-X with additional accessories I did it on the website less than a month ago. It is a good tool to use as a guide for toyota products. Even the toyota website is quoting a lot less than those dealerships...
  6. Great thread!!!! I have now joined the ranks of Auspack owners. Very happy with the head unit. Looks like it is a factory unit! Highly recommended. However, had the reverse camera installed (came with the Auspack unit. Not the angle version but the bullet one that is supposed to be drilled into the bumper). The camera works well but there is a scale "digitally" imprinted into the screen. Since it is not calibrated the scale is useless. I have seen the rear camera displays on the forum that do not have this scale. Does anyone know who to get rib of it? Does your camera supplied from Rob have this as well? Cheers
  7. Congrats Trunk!! That is a great price!! DJC, My touring was also listed as an AT-X SE
  8. Hey Trunks I went with the car broker and total price was $33,300 drive-away with metallic paint and floor mats. I think I could have gotten a better deal but did not have the time to go to the dealership. There were a lot of holidays (or so it seemed) on the Saturday and I couldn’t go in on the weekday due to work. I went with the broker simply for ease. I gave a few dealerships a call but none would touch that price. I am sure if I was there in person it would have been a different story. However, I have read on the forum recently (but can’t seem to find the thread at the moment) that some of the members have gotten better deals. I think someone got a 2009 touring below $33,000 with extras. So that is definitely the bench mark. I am going to get tint at the local shop (Much cheaper). I turned down paint protection since I think it is simply a coat of wax that I am happy to do myself. Thanks to the forum I am going to add the auspack GPS headunit and a custom grille. As Boxerboy stated there may be a better deal for stocktake… Hope that helps
  9. Jorgeo hope that the install was a success!! I have contacted Auspack and they offer a two possible cameras. One that can be mounted into the bumber (need to saw a hole) or a mounted one (I guess on the plate). Just wondering if you can tell me which ones you used (pros & cons), maybe a pic or two of the finished mounted camera? The head unit install seems straight forward (I think) but I am a bit hesitant with hooking up the rear camera. Cheers
  10. Wondering if this problem has been rectified in the 2009 line up. Any one driving a 2009 with this transmission problem or with the dash rattle?
  11. Got a quote from the local car broker for $33200 drive-away for 2009 black touring. What do you think of that? I thought they were suppose to get you the best deal so unless there is not much room to move, I think this offer is too high. Needless to say I have turned it down. I guess I will try the old fashioned way. Cheers
  12. toyogun May I ask where you bought your Aurion touring from? Cheers
  13. Hi all Thanks for the advice. Another question, anyone try a car broker? It was recommended to me from a co-worker as he said they can normally get a better deal for you. I think the aurion looks really good in black but not experienced with the swirls… They still offer the maintenance cap but it is $130 for the first 4 services for 2009 models which would take you to 60000km. Cheers
  14. Hello all I am a soon to be Aurion owner. The wife really likes the drive and we feel that we are ready to buy very soon. We have just seen the new sale on the toyota website. $33,990 Driveaway plus metallic paint $400 extra Just wanted to know if that is a fair price? What do you think the dealers will sell for? I just want to make sure that I don't get ripped off. The forum has been a wealth of information Looking forward to joining the ranks soon! Cheers
