i did it that way cause i like the intake sound, if my car was manual then i would've considered doing a full exhaust system aswell but it doesn't sound as nice auto if u get wot i mean

not really, if u remove the one in the front fender then dont block that up, it lets more air in, but as for the other one, maybe pvc or sumthing along the lines of that. mine was a bit easier to remove, although i did have to re-locate the crank breather

i'll do my best to point u in the right direction, however i must point out that i have a different engine to you, so i am not 100% certain about urs. If there are any other readers who can correct me in anyway please do so. oh and i dont accept responsibility for any damages.

Basically, if u follow ur intake piping and you looking for the resonator, it will just be a black box that is connected for no apparent reason.

Here is my enging Bay. Circled in red is where my resonator is located, most engines will have 2 my other one is where the pod filter is. a way to locate if your engine has a second one is to look at the filter box (yellow) and follow the piping AWAY from the enging...you may need to pull the front bumper off if u want to remove this one.

I did my best to try find a 2az-fe engine that had a clear image of the resonator. Here is wot i found. Because i havn't actually seen it in real life, i can't tell u exactly how to remove it, so thats up for u to decide. I'm just locating it for u. circled in red (btw car is a 2005 TOYOTA CAMRY ACV36R MY06 SPORTIVO)

if u can haggle the price down a bit at the store, i would buy it from them.....for the sake of $50 or however much cheaper it is on ebay (including postage?)

and if u buy it at the store, u have a warenty, u get it then and there, its brand new etc

I've already removed the TWO resonators from the intake, sounds SWEET.

only thing is there is a little huming sound from the intake at idle, but it goes away when driving. i quite like it though, people think i've done some major work to the engine

btw if pimp-tivo wants a some pictures i can take them.

i drove with the windows down and aircon on for a while and the smell went......

For me the smell comes everytime I turn the a/c back on. It lingers around for a minute and then goes away. But the very next time I turn on the air ... it happens again.

can't help u there, maybe u need to consider buying the filter that the others were talking about previously....goodluck

I've also got a problem with my 98 v6....

when u initially start it, it will go to about 12-1300rpm, then down to about 700 then straight back to about 12-1300....

is this a problem? or am i just being paranoid? :(

is this all in the space of a second or two, or over the course of a few minutes? if it's happens in one or two seconds, you'll probably have to clean the MAF sensor, or replace it. if it's over the course of a few minutes, then i have NFI.

happens instantly.....how do i clean the sensor?

undo the 2 screws on the MAF sensor mount and remove the sensor. get a cotton bud and some electrical component cleaner and VERY lightly wipe the tip of the MAF sensor. if it doesnt look dirty at all, it could well be the IAC (idle air control) valve. you could try spraying some throttle body cleaner in the iac valve ports in front of and behand the butterfly. throttle position sensor possibly?

just try to eliminate the easy things by doing some cleaning and see how it runs. if your not confident in cleaning electrical sensors or taking apart the intake to clean it, get an efi tuning place to take a look and see if they can locate a fault. or you can do this yourself by putting a jumper wire (or paper clip) between the TC and E1 terminals in your diagnostics connector to see what error codes flash up on the dash.
