Power increase and LPG system; the Steinmetz Astra P.GASUS has uncompromising power right to the limit and is fitted with a fully sequential LPG system. Everything the heart desires and without a guilty conscience about the wallet or the environment, as one of the fastest Steinmetz Opels can be run on either LPG or petrol. For Steinmetz now the term: "Gas up" can be used in the truest sense of the words, on a GTC on which almost everything has been changed.
Engine/silencer: The standard power levels - already impressive - of 176 kW/240 HP have been raised by a further 20 HP by the Steinmetz engineers with optimised mapping. These extra 20 HP are available to the driver running on both LPG and Super Plus. For better transfer of the additional power, a Sachs sports clutch has been fitted.
For the rear, a new twin tailpipe silencer has been designed. The only point left unchanged under the rear section is the central position of the silencer. The rear skirt and new twin tailpipe will shortly also be available for all Astra OPC.
Suspension: To improve traction and handling, working in collaboration with Drexler Motorsport a limited slip differential has been developed which exceeds all expectations. With settings from 0 – 75 %, driving in cities and on the track becomes a real pleasure. Complete with racing suspension, the Steinmetz Astra P.GASUS offers pure driving dynamics!
Aerodynamics: The front part of the Steinmetz Astra P.GASUS has been totally overhauled. The front skirt has been styled in an exciting design with air inlets for the brake cooling. The front skirt and upper grille insert present the new Steinmetz front grille Type II. This front grille Type II differs from the previous design by the vertical double spokes and larger honeycomb form. As a result, the entire front looks more purposeful.
The Steinmetz sports mirrors fit harmoniously into the flowing lines towards the rear, and over the tailgate is fitted the characteristic Steinmetz 2-piece roof spoiler. The body is completed by the rear skirt and new twin tailpipe silencer.
Interior: The Recaro bucket seats give the driving feel of a real racing car. The new, lower seating position for the driver also has a positive effect on the overall weight distribution of the vehicle. Further modifications include the aluminium handbrake handle, the 3-piece aluminium pedal set and the sill plates.
Wheel/tyre combination: As a world first, the new Steinmetz ST4 Bi-Color alloy is presented in size 8Jx18 ET 38. The aim was to develop a weight-optimised 18" rim in a unique 5-spoke Steinmetz design. The name Bi-Color comes from the black/silver appearance. The brilliant appearance is achieved by the finished surface. The resulting light reflections have the desired effect of making the ST4 rim into a true eyecatcher. For further distinction, a hub cap has been designed in ST4 Look. The Astra GTC is fitted with Cup tyres which provide the finishing touch. The combination of all components leads to a "race car" for everyday use in which every kilometre driven is fun.
