  3. Music - Download & buy, usually download when an album comes out a week or two before the CD is released which saves me the trouble of ripping it to my MP3 player.

Movies - Rent since I prefer to watch movies on my widescreen TV with Dolby 5.1 surround.

TV Shows - Download if I miss an episode but I don't collect full series.

Software - 100% bought apart from freeware...

  4. The Corolla is also going to get a newly developed range of direct-injection petrol engines ranging from 1.4 litre 97 HP over an all new 1.6 litre 120 HP to the top of the line model with 1.8 litre 150 HP...

Personally i'd like to see the next Corolla with a 2.4L VVTi

    2AZ-FE

    125Kw/6000rpm

    224Nm/4000rpm

  5. Used to be a member of the old forums but they rejected my membership application for the new forum for some unknown reason so I didn't bother trying again.

There were/are a few decent members but there are still alot of dickheads on the forum aswell...

  6. Reminds me of Australia Day.

Driving up to Sydney there was pretty heavy traffic through Engadine including a P-plater in a riced up Lancer weaving through the traffic. Where the road goes from 70 to 90 I thought i'd keep in the left lane since I figured there would be traffic turning into the national park and further up the road to Cronulla.

So what happens ahead of me? There was a lockup and the Lancer in the right lane had managed to rear-end a Corolla waiting to turn before almost taking out another car in the left lane. I think he may have tried to drive off but his car was too badly damaged.

  7. Anyway I had a fun drive back up to the city tonight, most of my gripes have already been covered

-Idiots who have forgotten how to use indicators

    So true, especially at roundabouts.

** People that brake when they see someone up a side road hit their brakes

Yeah this annoys me, people who brake HARD when there is nothing in front of them, or people who constantly ride the brakes. Flash, flash, flash, dammit can't you maintain a steady speed?

    - People who consitantly ignore the speed limit......BY DOING LESS THAN IT!!!

Yeah mate, it might be raining but that's no excuse to do 40 in a 90 zone.

Drivers who can't stay in there lane!

It's not very hard, what really pisses me off is the people who weave in a straight line.

...when there is a big line of traffic at some lights, which dont last long, and one loser just doesnt react to the lights changing somewhere along the line, so you lose 3 or 4 seconds at the lights

Hmm i'm looking at you Mr/Mrs Astina driver

Just to add another one, people who don't use their headlights in twilight or during bad weather conditions. Sure you can see the other traffic but they can't see you!

Ahh that feels better ;) Anyway just to reply re. cyclists.

But I am also one of those cyclists that move across a couple of lanes to turn right, but I would not do it in heavy traffic, that's just suicide.

Just to put it into context, this was going south on the Princes Highway at Engadine/Heathcote just past BP. The cyclist was in the left lane & I was in the centre so he cut in front of me to go down Heathcote Rd. Since I had a pretty good view I anticipated his action but the bloke in the right lane had to brake pretty hard to avoid hitting him.

  8. Cyclists are just another road user and should be treated just like it's another car on the road, ie they have the same right of way in intersections, round-a-bouts, driveways etc too.

Alright as a fellow cyclist I understand your frustration but as a driver i'll tell you what annoys me...

Cyclists expect to be treated as a fellow road user except they don't follow the rules, all too often I see cyclists blatantly ignoring red signals and riding through intersections so the same cyclist that caused problems 200m back causes the same problem again 200m further down the road. Want another one? How about crossing two lanes of heavy traffic in order to make a right turn, happened in front of me the other day when there was a perfectly good set of traffic lights just up the road.

Sometimes it works both ways <_<

  9. I think that wouldve been me on the Princes Highway, I wasnt giving it too much, well i wasnt in lift anyway.... :)

Hmm I dunno about that <_<

I was travelling @ 60-80 & you still passed me from a standing start before turning off at Kanahooka Road ;)

I go to UOW once or twice a week usually in the arvo

    Silver stock tivo

Yeah i'm usually there Wednesday & Thursday afternoons, are those your plates? Looks familiar...

  10. EXCEED SPEED LIMIT BY NOT MORE THAN 15KM/H WHILST DRIVING A MOTOR VEHICLE. 6POINTS.

6 points must've been double demerits, ouch :o

Personally I think that rule is stupid, you get 3 (6) points regardless of whether you're exceeding the limit by a couple of k's or if you're 30k's over the limit. So if you're doing 61kph or 89kph in a 60 zone you still get the same penalty.

Hmm, I wonder which is worse?

PS: Sorry this isn't helpful to the topic but I just hate the inconsistency re. points

  11. After a bit of digging around here's some more information. The trojan is actually known as Spy Sheriff or SpywareNo! & it appears to install from the Google ad menu.

The use of an advertising dropper causes the software to be installed on the user's system without notice and/or consent by the user. Also a severe issue is in how the advertising dropper is installed that distributes both applications. Installation of the dropper occurs by simply visiting the websites it is served from.

Once infected, it creates an icon on the desktop and creates bogus warnings saying the system is infected by spywares.

It is believed to be very difficult to remove due to its ability to reinstall itself after the system is rebooted. However, some anti-spyware tools like Ad-Aware and Webroot are starting to include it into their to-be-removed list.

Here are some more sites with further information.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spysheriff

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpywareNo

    http://www.lavasoftresearch.com/spywareno1.shtml

And this site has advanced removal instructions if Ad-Aware can't fix the problem but I haven't tried it yet.

  12. Yeah I got the same thing last night, Norton picked it up & I fixed it by restoring an earlier save point.

Apparently it might have something to do with the Google ads at the top of the page...

EDIT: As I posted this the same trojan tried again, lucky I caught it this time
