I bought these to replace my factory ones that yellowed up. Be careful buying ones from the US as they won't be legal on your car due to the light spread.
The DIY mod is to open up the headlights and spray the surrounds black. There is a headlight guide in the Workshop Submissions area.

haha ! ingenious !
A plastic rubbish bin is a rubbish enclosure. It's not even close to being as rigid as a speaker box (especially one containing subwoofers) should be.

I consider myself to drive like a granny but that's not the point. Fuel cost at the pump is what it is regardless of E10 or PULP. If over a fortnight a car consumes 30 bucks of fuel and another 100 bucks why would you think the first car isn't a better car (fuel economy wise) than the second?.
'better' is a very subjective term. Lower fuel.consumption doesn't make it a better car. Nor does power output.
If someone buys a car purely based on fuel consumption, he/she has rocks for brains

Me so excited to see if you get installed.
still will need a tune but given it was purchased January 2011, long awaited! Huzzah for Anthony!
G5CFH suggests no gain however.

May or May not be there with the ecu finalay installed.

I put BP ultimate for the first time ever in the silly car the other day as BP is a no show in my area..
I usually use Caltex Vortex 98.. I find the opposite is true in my case. I get better acceleration with the Vortex.. I wont be buying Ultimate again. I have used V power but its been a while and cant compare.
Whats to stop unscrupulous vendors selling 91 or 95 as 98 in a bowser labelled 98? I bet it happens. My car certainly feels likes it's running on 91 with this BP ultimate I have in it at the moment.
That would be the Fuel Quality Standards act. http://www.environment.gov.au/atmosphere/fuelquality/standards/enforcement/index.html
I know that my car doesn't run well on Vortex98 (neither does STYLSH's, same engine, both supercharged) but I'm not going to blaming an individual fuel vendor of illegal practices.

He is your bro?

Not worth the extra dollars. You obviously need a higher octane fuel for the XR6T so that's different story.
As for ethanol blended fuels? I have used try United 100 octane which is ethanol blended but i got economy similar to Ultimate/VPower/Vortex98 but the best engine response of the lot.
The only reason i don't fill with it all the time is that they are a fair distance away. Need more United Fuel stations.

Maybe beacause in tasmania there arent many being wrecked and parts here arent easy to find. and not everyone has a lot of money they can just spend on a whim. no need to be so blunt. thanks for the post.
Better blunt than being rude.
You know, most mainland dealers will do shipping of parts they have. I am sure they won't mind doing international shipping to Tasmania. So you don't have to look local.

I love the new GS range and the F-Sport looks great. Biggest surprise is how the V6 is as competitive as the previous generation V8 (mmmm... 1UR-FSE)

Why don't you call your insurer and find out?
There aren't any other options you haven't listed besides not doing anything about it.

yes very true, the longest i have ever had wax made my car bead before was like 2 weeks.... and that was with meguiars (the best stuff out) but permanon is perfect for long lasting paint protection.
No it's not. Not by a country mile.
No wonder why you think this permanon is the Holy Trinity.

1000 apoligizes......................................................
It's not your fault that they were so hard to deal with.

Yes both worthy of a look, Daryl did mention early he wasn't 100% if he could make it but I thought Andrew was still coming? There goes two cars i wanted to see. Daryls Aurion and Andrews Blue Camry
No one else pulling out are they? :(
Because the dealerships were so hard to arrange, I held of booking accommodation to minimise transit and I was beaten to the holiday post.
I'll be in my 4th straight week of 16 hour work days instead of being at the Annual Meet.

but believe it or not ..i have raced so many cars ..roll-start and at the lights. audi tt, mazda mps ..golf gti..and always win though..
Then you wake up, right?
Your Aurion is definitely on the lower side on the power spectrum compared to other ones.

Wow.
That's alot of money for a SRI.

Yes. The supercharger does love it
This mornings drive to work was AWESOME.

Ahh ok. i think you must have DJKOR on your ignore list then.

Interesting what everyone had to say. I feel more inclined to buy it now. However, what scares me a bit is if this system fails and leaves the throttle open..then.........boom.
What i like about the Weapon R is that you can change modes and settings more than the one you linked van.
The replies in the thread would suggest the opposite.

Holy buggery, forgot it's Thursday already.
Yes.

we could easily just shorten up the cable on your TB andrew... ;)
Sounds good to me! I'll provide the cable cutters.

Not sold on this. Seems like a gimmick to me. Especially at $85 including Postage.
If I have learnt anything from all this Andrew... it's that it is not a gimmick. It does exactly what it is meant to do.... which is to make the car feel more responsive to the driver. At the end of the day, all it is doing is applying the throttle at a rate that is different to what you have been used to with your car. The result of this is that you in turn think it is more responsive. Imagine it's like changing the scale that your TV volume goes up in so that the numbers are then halved. Your TV gets louder at a lower number... but at the end of the day, it just maxes out sooner. The capability of the speakers don't actually increase.
Ultimately it does nothing for actual performance. But for some people, feeling that their car is quicker because it takes less physical throttle to do something is more than enough for them.
I remember we discussed this product (or similar) at one of the Thursday night meets. Can't I do the same thing by changing a few bits on my cable throttle body?
I would love to have more for less, for less than $85 if we can source the bits!

I remember reading something about K&N, so don't quote me on it buy it was something like K&N not having the greatest filtration of filters out there. Something along the lines that do let through certain microns of particles.... however, these are not going to destroy engine and will most likely just pass through like it wast there.
Shiza!
If that is the case, what is my CCS SAAS branded one going to be like! :/
-
K&N have a recharge kit which is essentially a cleaning agent and filter oil. I clean mine every 10000km as i have a spare filter and alternate them so there is no downtime.
Best bit of tech for the Aurion hoon!
