  1. hmm righto, fair enough. If i were to take the car into a dyno tuning center, do you reckon they could tune the ecu? But i think this will be over my kinda budget.

I would say there is no need.

Even with the boost from the electric supercharger shouldn't need a tune as when I had my car supercharged (the oldschool expensive way) I didn't need any change to my ECU and it's on a 10 year old car.

From the product description, the OBD will intercept the override the factory ignition, fuel and trans shift readings and adjust it more aggressively than the factory ECU would usually do.

Edit: Look what I did. I paid $230 twice for a Ultra Racing strut brace on two different occasions to test a theory.

  2. Heck you could discover something that would change the entire modding scene here, simply because you decided to give something a go. That's how it normally works.

This man knows. Aurion brake Pioneer talking right here. To discover Shiite, you need to spend the money but that doesn't mean the big $$$ either.

I'd say the biggest reason why Evo7 isn't keen on this is because he's so hung up on it being called a 'supercharger' which defies what he knows (and lives) a supercharger to be. The world used to be flat, Cholera was spread by airborne miasmas and blood letting was a procedure used by a medical doctor.

  3. Hi Jacob12,

Could you please advise if you have been able to fix this issue and where have to taken it to do so. I also have road noise from the factory fitted tyres - Michelin MXV8, have you come accross the same issue with yourself or anyone else?

    Thanks,

    Gazza

Most people (if not all who have tried) have been able to correct the pulling left issue with a set of the SuperPro Offset (or Double Offset) bush kits.

If you don't want SuperPro, Whiteline and Nolathane also make the bush kits as well.

  4. At a mechanic.

    ^This

It's a V6 Camry. It's not a Ferrari. Any mechanic will be able to change the water pump and timing belt. Go out and get some quotes.

Given the age of the vehicle and the work being done I would also recommend:

    - Replace upper and lower radiator hoses

    - replace heaterhoses (the one under the inlet manifold would be optional)

    - replace TB coolant hoses

    - replace thermostat and gasket

    - replace idler pulleys in timing belt configuration

  5. Went shopping at the wreckers on the weekend and picked up a set of front Power Windows for $70. Includes motors, switches and looms.

Also, I see no one realised I have new wheels, they are Rota D2 in 16". Got sick of paying heaps for 17s.

And its truely amazing how far I have come from the original charger to today... From 78kw atw to a massive 115atw! ;)

    Evo

I didn't say anything cause i preferred your old wheels.

  6. This is the problem though. What ever mod you do the aurion it tunes the car down back to its factory settings, therefore no improvement on power. I already have the K&N and no difference in power. Is there any other solution to tuning up the ecu? I know that Haltech does fords and holdens. Nothing with toyotas though..

You could always piggyback an ECU and see if you can squeeze more power out of it.

  7. Claim from who?

Hey all cheers for the replies, went to a couple of paint shops and they reckon that it has been resprayed and its just the paint under the gloss bubbling????? ****** me! how **** is that, ill try and ask the previous owner on where it got sprayed or try a claim and blame it on road works haha, cheers for the hints

    claim from who?

  8. Oh man, I need to get one of these for the 4runner!

They are listed as a universal fit. Shows that there must have been some planning put into these before sale.

Hrmmm... Should I scrap my Adaptronic plans?

I have the ECU wiring sheets but if this will save me cutting into the ECU harness it will save me a craplod of time and save me some $$$ on the ECU itself.

  9. When I last checked a new OEM replacement clutch from Exedy was around the $250 mark. Installation + labour was around the $600 area.

The job is a ***** to do and labour is a pain. I had mine changed at a Brake/Clutch mob but was letdown by some poor workmanship.
