  1. Funny you should mention it, with some direction from SupaTouring I gave Harrop Engineering a call. If what I've been told is correct, the 1mz-fe supercharger is based on the Eaton M62. They were very helpful and gave me 2 part numbers that would likely to be used (one of them having a 98% probability). The guy on the phone said unless they've done some serious work to the charger, the seal should be the correct one. I should have them up here by Friday, they were only ~$20 each. Biggest cost will be fixing up the seal, in both time and money.
  2. Gah, what crappy timing. Encountering issues of the forced induced nature and I'm scrambling to get things fixed up by the annual.
  3. If I can get her fixed up in time. Scrambling to my battle stations at the moment. Crossing my fingers.
  4. Just top it up, it'll be right. ahhaha, the fill point is mounted horizontally so I still have to remove the damn thing anyway! edit: @ $41.5 for 120ml of oil, even if it were vertically mounted I probably couldn't afford to buy the oil all the time!
  5. Confirmed today that the supercharger is indeed leaking. What a setback with the upcoming annual meet.
  6. ^^^ This. Look at SupaTouring. Less than 300 posts but 95% of them are quality, useful posts. The other 5% goes to ragging Evo7.
  7. $5? Oh man. That's... somewhat cheaper than my $470 job. hahaha, probably does a better job as well. It looks smart as well.
  8. You mean: I'll keep CarsRUs in mind Andrew cos there are some angel eye headlights for the Gen 6 that I am going to buy as soon as possible right? :)
  9. Funny you should mention that, at the Thursday Brisbane meets one of the boys mentioned a bad transaction with this seller. 4 months to get a replacement foglight. If CarsRUs have them, I'd recommend them. Ordered and paid on Thursday, arrived Friday.
  10. 2 things that bother me the most: 1) My brother didn't care if I took the garage for the rest of the afternoon, I didn't even have to move her 2) I am usually very careful down there anyway but I was so happy with the new lights I wasn't paying attention. When she's on superlows it'll be very similar to my brothers VE senator in height.
  11. Happy with how they look AND the extra light I am getting from them. I can actually see the light dispersal. On that note, very likely to get superlows and even before I get them I manage to scrape the front spoiler today (when moving the car after Mick did the install. Should have left the damn thing in the garage). Not bloody impressed. 'Luckily' the scrape is only on the bottom but it's there now and if I am not careful will have a few more friends.
  12. They have been waxed 3 times since I bought them and I'll continue to take care of them. Big thanks to our local bush mechanic who put them in for a slab of redbull.
  13. :) Just getting off my bum and doing stuff that should have been done a long time ago. - Bumper + bonnet issue (although not the lip! ) was bothering me for a long time - Headlights were collecting water during rain for as long as I can remember - High-rise spoiler? When Dave says yes, you know it's a good thing.
  14. Headlights have arrived. They will be eyelid-less for now as the finish of the lids are terrible. The paint shop tried to paint them but the bottom of them just don't work. Serious prepwork on them needs to be done in order for the eyelids to be useable, not worth the labour. edit: Brisbane's resident bush-mechanic will be doing the install later :)
  15. Hrmmm... Sounds like a problem only Brenndan can solve!
  16. I just got a new set of headlights and I want to avoid them from getting yellow as long as possible. I am aware there is no issue with waxing your headlights, but given the differences between a polymer and carnauba wax; would it be safe to say the polymer based wax would be better at protecting the headlight lens? From reading around, the polymer based ones are supposed to 'last' longer than the carnauba ones. Would using a wax such as: http://www.turtlewax.com.au/classic.htm - Turtle wax Super Hard Shell (claims 12months protection) be safe to use on them without affecting the clarity of the lens?
  17. General chit chat is that if you aren't tracking your car regularly you are best off with a decent set of shocks and lowered/superlow springs. Your camry looks pretty low already (looks to be the same height as mine but I'm on Low springs), so it'd look pretty good hot on some low springs. You'll probably encounter enough scraping issues with lows, let alone superlows.
  18. Yes and no. Now it's: Headlights AND rear spoiler before the national meet. hahahaahaha at least its not motor.... haha The spoiler will look good imo Man Mick, if I were you I would be ******. Fingers crossed the spoiler gets here in time. Would love it to be ready for the meet. My fault though, I should have bought the damn thing when I saw it about 2 days into the auction.
  19. For starters, I'll be removing the RS style grille and putting on the old one. Saves any bird/insect issues to be dealt with by the old grille Ebay US had this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAGNETIC-CAR-BRA-2002-2003-2004-TOYOTA-CAMRY-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem45f27500b9QQitemZ300420497593QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_1078wt_977 which is interesting because I found this quite cheap, you just have to do abit more work though I can't comment on the magnetic strength: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/20-x-A4-Adhesive-Magnet-Sheets-SPECIAL-/110534830340?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item19bc63a904#ht_757wt_977 I'll have the car waxed at least 2 more times before I go down, and then another one on the Friday when I arrive so I don't think my wax coverage will suffer if I lose some due to some aggressive adhesive.
  20. Going to be driving my Camry down to Sydney for the Annual meet and I'm not particularly keen on paying for a car bra. I was wondering, would using something like a couple of layers of contact be good enough to protect the car on the way down?
  21. I've had this happen about 5 times before over the lifetime of me owning the car. Most recently I had this happen just last week. I wonder what causes it?
