  1. It can be done and it's a manual as well! Welcome to the land of ideas!
  2. 30000km? Oh man, I'm jealous. I love the Gen5.5 interior. Want to trade interiors?
  3. Not my car but I took my mums Lexus GS460 up Mt Nebo tonight. To sum up my experience in one word: Gobsmacked. I can see where the extra money you pay comes into play. The entire car is so balanced; there has obviously been alot of thought put into each component of the vehicle. The 4.6L V8 is subtle but definitely has enough grunt to move the 1735kg car... swiftly, the sport setting on the suspension is firm and responsive without being harsh, the ECT mode (sports) is responsive to your foot on the throttle, steering is direct + responsive and accurate and body roll if present is unnoticeable, the massive brakes pull up the car very quickly even under repeated applications. I was blown away at just how effortless Nebo was in this car compared to my camry. It was like a leisurely Sunday afternoon drive. The car was just made for it. I can't stop shaking my head.
  4. ahhahahahahaahahahahahahaha, All you need is the T-shirt and mug combo. Maybe a dark-grey might suit it better, but I quite like the dark alloys if you ask me.
  5. I've never used Ryco filters on my car, but I've fitted them to a few other cars with no ill effect. My dad's Gen4 has been using Rycos for at least the last 3 changes. I personally have been using K&N oil filters for the last 22,000km and will do so for the next 35-45,000 (huzzah for US priced filters!)
  6. That is some serious work. Have a look at his How to Clay guide and the final pic in the article. Yowzers!
  7. I'm a meg's fan however I wonder what their equivalent of Mothers Step 2 sealant is. My primary wax is their Gold Class Wax however, I am getting some M26 shipped from the states soon (as I am also getting CHEAP K&N oil filters and some pulleys for my supercharger) and am looking forward to seeing how the M26 performs. I've never bothered with their NXT 2.0 wax for some reason.
  8. Welcome to the forums, if you have any specific Camry questions; you can also head over to Auscam.org which is a dedicated Camry forum. Alot of the Camry owners here also are members on there too :) Wodonga.. from memory trentmeyer lives down your way, he's got a Gen3 Camry :)
  9. Mine had teh same issue, the headlights in that photo are about 3 weeks old. I wax the headlights every time I wax the car to prevent exterior yellowing. I bought them from here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Toyota-Camry-Sportivo-02-04-Black-Headlights-Left-Right-/400129702288?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d2996b990 I was happy with their service and the DEPO non-oem lights do the job
  10. Mudman, you've gotta spot digging up old threads!
  11. Images of my high-rise spoiler. I was dubious at first as well (but I got it so cheap it didn't matter) but with my alloys and the colour it just fit in nicely. It looks at it's worst from the rear, but I think the Sportivo rear skirts + fresh paintjob would make it look better.
  12. So if your fuel light comes on when your cruising range says you have 50km remaining, you will have about 18-20 litres of fuel left or approximately another 120-150km of driving remaining. Last time I tested this out, I travelled another 80km on empty and still had a few litres left in the tank. I did this as well on the way down. Computer said I had 22km remaining and by the time it said 17km remaining I had done ~35km and arrived at Tamworth in the nick of time :)
  13. Megs Gold Class was smells divine as does Mothers California Gold Showtime. I'll be washing my car tomorrow and possibly a clay and sealant. I spotted a few streak/swirls in the bonnet the other day. If it's my imagination, another coat of Gold Class I think.
  14. Hrmmm... Going by the pictures in that link Daryl, looks like i am going to have to wash her no matter if it rains or not. Also looks like I am going to be out of place anyway.
  15. Just keep us updated in this post. It tells a good story.
  16. I've seen the 'location' that they hold it but where do you park exactly? Going to have to tag behind one of you guys I think.
  17. But that's not a short shifter man, that decreases your leverage with the same throw length which would actually make it harder to shift. TWM actually make a short shifter kit for the E153 here: http://www.twmperformance.com/shortshifters/toyotashortshifters/toyotacamryshortshifters.htm This bundled with the base bushings kit (which I'd strongly recommend) makes a big difference to your shifting needs :)
  18. Its the same High Mount Spoiler as yours. The one on the boot... :) I like the Red Calipers on your Camry, wouldnt mind getting them for mine :) hahaha, I only found the high mount/high-rise spoiler a month ago, it looks pretty good. Calipers are from the 40 series Camry/Aurion and simply painted red. Using the front rotors from the 40 series is a great, cost-effective brake upgrade for our 36 series.
  19. With regards to fuel consumption, you may not get better fuel consumption from premium but you may benefit from the additives they put in it. As we discussed in Sydney, the 2AZ-FE won't 'perform' better on running on Premium98 all the time; but it would be beneficial to run it once every 4th tank or something like that to help clean up/keep the engine clean. I'd personally run it 1 to 2 just to keep the engine clean, although WHEN you get boosted you will want to run 98 ALL the time :) If you wish to reset the ECU do the following: 1) Remove the negative battery terminal and leave it off for ~30mins 2) Put the battery terminal back on 3) Start the car and let it do the normal startup (Airbag lights etc), run the car @ idle for 10mins 4) Remove the negative terminal for a 1/2 a minute 5) Replace the negative terminal and off you go 6) Drive Go nuts, the car will learn your driving style!
  20. You're just a freak! Damn straight. The only time it was too cold was @ that pie shop. Up high, little shade and in full wind; that was cold.
  21. I'm not particularly interested in the group buy (for obvious reasons) but if HiLift is going to pickup the gear and ship them accordingly, you can save plenty of dosh in postage by using these guys: http://www.e-go.com.au/home.do They are cheaper than Auspost and are just as fast (usually faster). Their non-discounted postage option is cheaper than Auspost and they even offer cheaper options for Depot delivery + depot pickup. They do one offs as well and are cheaper than other one-off courier companies (e.g Smartsend etc). I've shipped (or had shipped): - Strut brace - Car audio gear (including 12" subwoofer + box) - brake rotors - mountain bike (boxed) with no hassles at all.
  22. That way is so good. As long as you've got power, you can push show hard because a lot of your speed can be dissipated in the steepness of it all. Yeah, stayed in 2nd gear for most of the Samford valley ascent. Will have to do normal Nebo to see just how much the brakes have. OEM ones were hot well before the Samford turnoff and were spongy on the approach of the first big switchback/hairpin.
