  1. wtf? Called up AAMI today to see if they'd insure me if I'd lower my vehicle, they said there wouldn't be an issue but my premium would go up by $158p.a!?! When I got the extractors, catback and CAI put in my policy didn't change Confusing to say the least.
  2. hrmm... just got a quote from Southside Suspension - $1295 installed for: 4x Kings Low Springs, 2x Rear KYB Struts, Rear Sway Bar (20mm, can't remember the brandname) + Alignment Cheapest of the lot so far.
  3. Looking to do abit of work on the suspension on my Camry (MCV36R) + get my rear struts replaced and I am wondering... Do I go Kings or Pedders? I went to Pedders today and I was quoted @ $1,545 including installation and alignment: 2x Struts (for rear), 4x Sports Ryder Coil Springs + Rear sway bar Quote from Fulcrum was $1,600 including installation and alignment: 2x Struts (for rear), 4x Kings Low Springs + Rear sway bar I'll be heading to Southside suspension + the other one @ Slacks creek for more quotes however: The guy @ Pedders said he felt the King springs does it's job (lowering the car) but found the springs were too soft, can anyone confirm this? Or are both springs as good as each other?
  4. Vaccumed the passenger area + took out the centre thingy (cupholder + gearshifter cover thing) and gave it a good clean. Clean car = win.
  5. What were they going to do with regards to the extractors themselves? Making a set or installing a pre-made? I went to a couple of places and was quoted a few prices. East Coast Customs were quoting me at around $1200 for extractors including installation but they couldn't source anyone who had extractors pre-made. Ben offered to get back to me on a price for custom extractors but he never contacted me back. CES Racing right from the word go said they would make a custom one from scratch. Trevor said he'd make the pipes equal in length to ensure it sounds good which meant he was going to need to put in 2/3 mandrel bends in order to do so (it ended up being 2). Here's a pic of the extractors, prior to installation: My guess is the pre-made extractors are relatively cheap and more of the cost is the labour to install them, as opposed to the labour/machine cost to make them + install them.
  6. Another question... Would an aftermarket super from say... Eaton/Powerdyne/Vortech be worth looking at or are they simply not compatible? Some of the models say "suited for 2-4L passenger cars" or "4 + 6 Cylinder or small displacement V8 engines" but I have NFI of what else would be involved with installing one.
  7. Yeah man, probably; but I wasn't too confident in getting a part shipped in + finding a place to get it fitted. Besides, supported a local business who was more than happy to help me.
  8. I had custom extractors made for my 1MZ-FE 02 Camry and they cost me $2200. That was for mild steel, Stainless would have been ~$3000 so i didn't bother asking for the price of ceramic. Either way it's going to be expensive. In retrospect I wish I paid for stainless as I didn't realise that you could see so much, but they work well enough so there aren't any complaints.
  9. thanks for the comments (probably wouldn't lower it though)! I'd probably upgrade the headunit soon + possibly add a TRD supercharger to it later on. Paint detailing/possible repaint isn't out of the question either.
  10. This is my 2002 Camry Sportivo V6 (MCV36R). Given to me by my brother unmodded besides the roof/bike racks, sunroof and the reverse sensors. I got my first mod late March 2009/Early April 2009 which was the headers and catback. Have had a few mods since then, with plenty more round the corner. 11. Thanks for the replies. Good to hear that it is doable. One question though, which TRD supercharger? I've done an ebay search and a few have popped up: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksi...-All-Categories Which one of those (if any) are suitable for my vehicle?
  12. As the title states, how much effort would be involved in getting a supercharger or turbocharger put into a 2002 Camry Sportivo V6. I've already put in extractors/catback + rerouted air intake with good effect (see dyno chart). I've been reading around and apparently it may damage the engine, which means I'd need to replace things within the engine which could get expensive. I've done a google on it, but alot of the work has been done on older camry's
