  1. Sucessfully installed the Strut Brace. Had to undo all of the upper strut bolts and jacked up the car so I could push down the tire to get the bolt to drop so the brace could be installed.
  2. The ones for the Gen 6 Camry/Aurion were a little like that at first. The guys that noticed it the most were the Gen 6 owners in the States on Toyota Nation. They used a rubber mallet to solve the problem. Yours looks a little more off than most of the usual cases. Let us know what Luis suggests. You know, if you can't come up with some solution, you could try lifting the front of the car so the two front wheels are off the ground. That may help give that little more clearance you'd be surprised. That's what I'll probably do. I wasn't too keen on forcing the bar down in case setting up the brace under pressure was a bad idea. I'll probably replace my front struts, get a 20mm Rear Sway, replace my worn Rear Control Arm bushes + get those poly steering bushes from Supatouring and take it somewhere to get it setup all in 1 hit.
  3. tried to install a UR Strut Brace for my car. Doesn't quite fit <_< . Going to have a chat to Luis tomorrow...!
  4. Yeah, that's what I need to work on. My main problem was that if I eased on the throttle too much, the gearbox got nice and laggy and would like to kick down another gear when I tried to get that power back. I thought it would have helped, but in all the laps where I slid my rear around intentionally, I couldn't get below 1:10. Don't be too disappointed. Manual gearbox conversion = DJKOR's next project!
  5. Good to hear you guys had fun. I don't have the stones to take my car onto a track, even just for fun. I = Gutless!

no pics? You tease. Far out, can't wait to see it
  7. very nice. She looks really good. edit: Paint looks in really good condition, is it? or is that just some PP?
  8. Won't be attending this week. Waaaaay too much crap on my plate (for the last 3 weeks!). Will have to hit up SupaTouring for that bootliner + bushes next week
  9. one reason why I still have crappy 6x9's in the back and the seat cover package in my boot complete with untouched rear seatcovers. <_<
  10. Apparently with the new AAMI policy (as of march or so) you get 3 mods before they bump up your premium. I had extractors, catback + induction declared on my policy with no price change. I had her lowered and I got a premium increase (it was about 11%). Getting a UR strut brace + rear sway bar soon so we'll see what happens when I change the policy again.
  11. looks good man. Hit the redline so many times, even jesus himself wasn't able to keep up with me. I hate driving when I'm angry. <_<
  12. Bah, pulled it out again and I can't get the needles out. If I use any more force I am worried that I might snap the fitting the needle is attached to.
  13. Doh. Pulled out the cluster today only to realise the needles can come off (should have read this thread before starting). Back to the cluster for me...!
  14. Wash it every time I fill up. There's a Shell/Coles/Self Serve washing place that's down the road that's good enough for me. But I use the term wash loosely, CT18 car wash spray, dry then high pressure rinse + high pressure 'clearcoat' + low density water to finish. Costs me about $4-$5.
  15. Oh that would have been me getting stuff at woolies after lunch. Spotted - nice blue gen 5 camry with black rims on Beaudesert Rd this afternoon at about 1pm going past where I work ! I think it's andrew357's. yeah that would have been me. Should have seen me 100000 times though, I did so many runs I was considering crawling into a ball and crying.
  16. Have had my car serviced @ Southside Toyota in Wolloongabba and they are alright, but with all dealerships; expensive. I just use ultra tune.
  17. Better a squashed mouse than a girly horn. My horn is so girly, even my brother's Focus horn is more manly than mine.
  18. ty, thanks man. UR Strut brace coming shortly as is a Selby 20mm rear sway.
  19. Removed the intake resonator today New plates put on the day before
  20. Replace the resonator with the steel tube... Done. I couldn't source the Donaldson elbows so I just used the original rubber thingy's that came with it. I'll head out to autobarn and pick up some 1/2" ID tubing; I forgot to take into account the barb size OD so it's stretched over the barbs too much (no need for clamps though). The engine doesn't exactly roar, but you can hear the whoosh at higher RPM's/acceleration.
  21. I paid $200 for my springs to get installed at a local suspension joint here in brisbane.
  22. CES to the rescue: Going to find some rubber hump hose connectors (not going to use silicon hose) + some silicon hose tubing to connect the barbs and off we go!
  23. might be there tonight with the new plates on. Around 9.20pm or so if things work out.
