  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rs2jklMOOs Just a short clip of some supercharger whine. I was bored.
  2. Cheapest way to make it sound better would be the catback and suitable muffler. Definitely avoid the cannon and you don't need to replace your cat. It should only cost you at absolute most $250. How much would a full exhaust set up cost roughly? Depends where you go. Most places I went to to get headers done just said no; too difficult. You can buy from the US headers for the 1mz-fe but by the time they are shipped and customs is paid; you are better off buying local. For reference my setup is (with their approximate cost): - Equal length, mandrel bent headers, Mild Steel - $2200 ($2600 for ceramic, $3200 for stainless) - 2.25" Catback (reusing the cat) with Lukey Turbo Muffler + stainless tip - $400 I was incredibly impressed with the exhaust note, power output and increase in fuel economy. I gained ~9-10kW at the wheels and my fuel consumption dropped from 14.5-15.0L/100km to 12.7-13.5L/100km. Catback price was expensive but it was easier to get it done at the one place. CES did my headers, I don't know if they still have the template for the headers but if they do the cost will probably be much cheaper. If you do get them done, pay the extra for the ceramic coat. I wish I did.
  3. As with any airbag disconnection, make sure you have disconnected the battery for at least 90 seconds before performing any work. Also, with these dry winter days, make sure you statically discharge yourself (by touching the frame of the car firstly) before handing the airbag connector. It may seem a little over the top to do things like this, but the last thing you want is a slight mishap setting your airbag off. Thanks for your help as always Daryl. I need to see how badly hurt my 4ch amp is.
  4. When removing seats that hve airbagags; is there anything i should look out for?
  5. A good quality semi-synthetic blend will be sufficient with the 1mz-fe, something like the Penrite HPR series works pretty good (I use it on my Dads 1mz-fe which has done ~155000km). I however use Mobil 1 5-50w full synthetic in my 1mz. Spark plugs should have been changed @ the 90000km mark so if that car has been serviced at the right intervals you should not need to change the plugs. If you do, you will need to remove the inlet manifold in order to do so (probably best to buy a manifold gasket and replace it while you do the change). Things to note: - Word is the alternator on the 36 series have a habit of dying young, my one died @ 93000km and cost ~$550 to replace as apparently a non-oem one won't fit. - Don't push the brakes too hard, I warped mine on my first Mt Nebo run - Rear left shock leaked around the 93000km mark and had to be replaced
  6. Hahahah. Money out of my bum? I think not. If so, I'd be @ 5.5-6.0psi already! I forgot about the intake resonator. Go to Autobarn and buy a 2.75" aluminium pipe and get them to thread a barb on, size isn't important as it is just a breather hose. That will also increase the engine roar. LOL. I'm on 5.5-6psi and I don't have a money tree either! If you buy things in little bits and pieces, you forget how much you spend. :P I'm so annoyed your fuel setup is so much easier to modify than mine. /unhappy (that means I am not happy, not end unhappiness)

  8. yeah, i like you guys :D why would you? I hate them all... bastards. I know the feeling. I just hate them so much!!!!

    Long live the tax return!
  11. I have a full exhaust, however my catback is 2.25" and I'm using a Lukey Turbo muffler. The equal length extractors would make a difference to the sound, but I'm happy with how my exhaust sounds.
  12. Thanks for your input , now you can carry on with your life ... Can you over $10? Or should I speak to your folks and ask them to give your pocket money a hard earned raise?
  13. A couple of things spring to mind: 1) You guys are already getting a good deal on a great product, so paying the $10 isn't going to make the Group Buy not worthwhile 2) In the event that CES didn't charge $10 for packing and it does get damaged; the first thing we are going to hear is "WTF? CES didn't even pack the goods properly" 3) While the father-in-law is close by, it is the fact that you are asking him to do you a favour because you don't want to spend $10 on packing. Remember, he still has to pull into CES and get the CAI and look after your package and wait for the courier to come pick it up from him. You've switched responsibility from CES to your father-in-law.
  14. So you'd rather bother your father-in-law over $10?
  15. Hey Dylan , this is the email CES sent me "We have already finalised production and expect the new ceramic coated stock to be ready for dispatch by Friday 23rd July (next week)." and on another subject this is what p1ssed me off "If you are arranging transport please add $10 packaging item fee onto your order -With packaging the items all wrapped together securely for transport - come in just under 5 kgs... approx 4.500kg." $10 for packaging?? + Shipping cost on top ... sounds like those shonky Ebay items , $0.99 for the item $20 for postage. So my courier will be $15 plus the packaging $10 =$25 which is the same they will charge using Aust Post. I'm going to get my father in-law to pick the damm thing and ship it to me .. Packing materials aren't free you know. In addition to the time required to properly secure + pack the items. Besides you are getting some quality **** anyway so I'd rather pay abit extra to ensure it's sent properly. Would you prefer them to just wrap it it some butchers paper and hand it over to your courier company?
  16. You can't compare a Camry to a Corolla. Two completely different vehicles. Almost like asking if... Manual is better than Auto.
  17. Hrmm... that looks really good Steve. I wonder what my Gen5 will look like with darkened rears...
  18. Same. It's no sundae but a bowl of this Connoisseur Choc Honey Nougat will do instead.
  19. Nothing spectacular, but to put someone who clearly doesn't know what they are doing in the lead position was a seriously dumb idea. To do it continually is just ridiculous. It was nice to have a drive around but to not even reach our planned destination sucked. I mean, we were farked from the start! We were supposed to meet @ 8.30am!
  20. Fail cruise is fail. Fail chick leading who mislead us 3 times is fail. Locked park and BBQ on the far side of the world is fail. Pulling into a park crossing heavy traffic for no reason is fail. Not turning up the road to Mount Tamborine even when it's clearly signed is fail. Everything was fail until we were TOCAU separated. hahah she lead last time in her wrx was fine but yeah its been a while... LOL man she **** fast but insanely quick on mountain :) I'm not saying she was slow... I was saying she was hopeless!
