  1. What part of the stivo exactly is it that you find noisy? I often end up turning the stereo off just to listen to the aural magic the engine screams when I'm ringing its neck. I swear it's yelling "Harder.... Harder... Faster... Faster"
  2. I think its a good idea, things slow down a little for most after xmas so hopefully a lot more of us can make a meet then!!! Hey Melbourne guys maybe we should each post our general working times and maybe which side of town you work (ie eastern suburbs). Might help us nail down some good times that all can attend :D Me my hours are generally approx 7.30am to approx 6.30pm monday to friday with the weekends off. South Eastern Suburbs.
  3. Hey guys for the Melbourne meet Wednesday night, just heard from Peekay who has had to fly to Sydney so won't be able to make it. Unsure as what time I can be there as I have a 6pm meeting at work and it is an hours drive for me to get there after that :( :(
  4. Hey xTiGeRx here is a link to some pictures of the TRD CAI in Peekay34's rolla. The pictures were taken when we last got together. http://members.optushome.com.au/icehockey_...eetup_23rd.html I am getting my TRD Intake installed tonight after work. It finally arrived this morning! Yeah!... Bring on the good times :D :D :D :D :D
  5. Your dreaming!!! It would double the cost of shipping if they gave him a paddle. The poor prick has to use his hands. That's how they have kept the cost of the stivo so low
  6. Yep I'm there. 6.30 is better as I work over in clayton and do not finish until at least 6pm. Even in hi cam I need at lest 30 minutes but probably more like 60. I will see if I can get away at 5.30!
  7. Yeah I know xTiGeRx. I made sure when I typed it that I would hopefully not offend you, after having seen your posts. Do not believe the weight quoted by toyota for the stivo, a new zealand mag actually weighed the car with 2 adult male passengers and a full tank of fuel & found it 40 kilo's lighter than manufacturers specs. But that's all to do with model politics!! But I guess you would really like to know how the run against the Levin went. We both launched pretty much together with my nose moving out to about half a bonnet in front at 6000rpm. Then it was over! In lift he looked like he was standing still. By the time I was maxxing out second the Levin was a long ways back and he was certainly still trying... I thought he had been spanked enough so that's where I backed off, but like most who can't believe they just got toasted he screamed past me and just kept going into the distance. I like the Levin, nearly brought one a few years back, but you've made the right choice trading for a stivo. When the engine free's up a bit it's quicker than most people think. Your going to love it!!! Cheers mate
  8. You speak the gospil stoopid head! Meguirs for everything.
  9. Not very much, and I drive approx 100km a day just to & from work. It would be a much more enjoyable drive though if it did. I might have to bring forward doing the suspension :D :D I find most people just think its a standard corolla, including a guy the other morning in his done up levin. His car looked pretty good, great wheels, lowering looked right and nice exhaust. He must have decided his modded Levin would show my standard looking corolla a thrashing. SURPRISE I think summed it up for him! Hey... I did not really want to do it as he looked like he luved his car, but I though he has to learn about the Stivo sometime. I will not forget his face as I hit lift. His eyes were 3 times as wide and his jaw in his lap. :o :o :o Life seems pretty good when you are looking at it in your mirrors... even though in the back of my mind I'm thinking "Probably gonna go to hell for doing that to a fellow corolla owner." Oh well... just hope I can take my stivo with me!
  10. Wednesday night is good with me too. Coburg sounds good as well. I do not know coburg well so if someone could make a suggestion there were there is ample parking!!!! Cheers
  11. I think Peekay's talking about the 18th. If he is you can count me in :D :D Cheers guys
  12. There's no shame to just being edged out by the old type-r. They are made for one purpose... GO FAST. They have no real comfort as most things are thrown out to save weight. And were much more expensive. My brother has the new Integra R and my stivo stays pretty close. He only really pulls away at launch. When I hit lift it is pretty even, neither has the advantage. He paid $45K for his, I only paid $30K. With the TRD CAI, muffler and then Unichip I am in the process of organising plus the whiteline suspension package he is toast and I still have $10K in change. :P :P And that's what I am talking about. VALUE FOR MONEY!!! Although in Aus it is not the real type R, the overseas model has 167kw :( :(
  13. The results were nice to look at :D :D Although I already new it was a great buy!
  14. Peekay, I have been checking out the insurance and the brokers are coming up with the same we are. It seems a lot of insurers will only allow 2 modifications before declining your policy. There are a some who insure you with more but these are coming back well over twice what we are paying... Its not worth it One of the guys said do your exhaust but keep your original tip on it as once the the pipe and muffler have some km on them (ie dirt/wear & tear) they wont tell as they don't really look at it that closely especially if the tip is stock. How is that for advice from a Broker! Cheers
  15. Peekay your right! This sounds like the best option. Count me in. Let me know and I will come along. I already have some cash put aside for the exhaust so it is no drama for me. Cheers Paul
  16. Hi guys, I still have been looking at exhaust options and still unsure as to do extractors. The problem is with extractors insurance companies do not want to touch you. I have found someone to do extractors for the car but they want my car for a couple of weeks so as the custom ones they make are tuned perfectly for it. I was told in this time my car would spend a bit of time on a dyno. They would create a full system in stainless steel for approx $1700.00. I just do not know if the performance increase will be worth my $1700 and a few weeks of having to rent a car, and the associated insurance headaches??? Maybe just do a remus or Supersprint muffler and be done with it! Save the problems!!!
