  1. i just got my squeaky pedal fixed yesterday when it went in for a service. Just i note- Im still trying to get them to do a clutch adjustment. Finally though they agree with me that its difficult to engage 2nd gear at high revs. Although i hope the sticky pressure plate doesnt distract them away from the real issue. Yeah the pressure plate, so im told, is sticking an thats why sometimes the clutch pedal is left suspended in the air. 2 different problems hopefully fixed in 8000 ks. Trav
  2. Hey just an update. Took it to get serviced and explained how the clutch pedal was getting stuck on its way back to resting position. i mentioned this site and the fact that this(our) car(sportivo) and its owners has had alot of different and technical problems. i myself was thinking it needed a clutch adjustment as it hasnt been in for that. Got it back yesterday and was told that they bled the clutch's hydrolics. Anyway it is still happening. :-( . Im goin to call them for the adjustment soon. the problem doesnt seem to be inhibiting any other driving components. So that didnt work, ill update this when i have the adjustment done, in the future. Vino
  3. Yeah ok ill get it checked out, although it went for a service not too long ago. HD clutch hey... more exspensive than lubricant for sure.... damnit. damnit damnit damnit. Just lost my phone too... vent vent damnit
  4. Hey I have never worn out a clutch completely. I am sure that it isnt a worn clutch. What happens is when changing gear sometimes(prolly the aggressive times), from 1st - 2nd i find the clutch getting stuck up in the air(as if the crunch wasnt bad enough). i know it cant be good for it and i continue with the 2nd to 3rd gear change with it still stuck. clutch engagement acts normally an all. i either give it a sharp tap and it swings back down, lately i just drag it back down with my foot. anyway, this is just a warning that this odd thing can occur, an suprise u like it did me. any way some experience or info would be good. what you all think? need some oil? little lubrication? Cheers Trav
  5. since it was brought up. lol anyone notice the floor mat makes a huge difference if its behind the clutch. im always shifting that ***** back so far that the base of the mat touches my seat. still manages to creep back under the clutch at the worst times. ive found if your aware of pushing the clutch against the wall, then it doesnt happen 9 times out of 10. damn i hate that noice. an with the music up u cant hear it but u can feel it. ooh just as bad. Vino
  6. spotted black stivo sitting on chrome 20". i didnt think it could be done sitting at goldcoast car sound. I was stunned for a moment, if i wasnt putting a type R in my boot i would of had a closer look. had a long oval pipe out the back, like this> (----) if ya get what i mean. it was smoking though B) Trav

  8. ok now the rear looks sweet, thought i would stuff up the front a bit :( parked a Q store at the back an boom, didnt realise the cement was that high. damnit first scratch too. bout 20 cm worth. its on the part u can see on my display picture. went to auto bahn and *** some wet an dry an glacier white spray paint. its Holts Dupli-color auto spray, the dude matched it an all. i havent had any experience with doin this. would have just gone an done it but coz its raining now, i thought i would come on an get some advice. would really hate to fcku it up. with the sand paper do i do horizontal motion or virticle or circular. you dont actually sand paper the paint do ya? as u can see some tips would appreciated. probably just worried more than anything.

  11. mate i hope this one does, goin to try on saturday.
  12. that is awsome thanks northy. very impressive the part that goes • INCREASED PERFORMANCE OVER TRD BRAND. bit dissapointing that the search engine didnt pick that up considering the amount ive searched. anyone care to answer my other question? cai haha cant wait, will make the call after the apointment on saturday. 1 done 1 to go. :)
  13. cool. thnx ide deffinately be interested, what place could i get that done and is that installed? is that price including the pod filter also? i was also searching an says some states its illegal whats QLD like with this mod?
  14. hey all. couple of questions that need your attention from your experience an expertese. i took a bit of a hiatus from this site for a while as a guard rail jumped out of me. really i felt bad driving it banged up. all good tho, thankgod for insurance. i really get my moneys worth from aami. the smash repairer even cut the semi circle where the rear lip was melting. as we all know here how the toyota service department is... i made a move, my 2003 sportivo is goin into southport lexus tomorrow for its 100k service. i told them how unhappy i was with my toyota serviceing and they have offerd me a free car to drive around in while its getting done, which i happily accepted. i reckon these guys are legends already!! on saturday its booked in at midas to get an extention of the exsaust and a muffler tip so its not spraying and melting the plastic. is there any way to effect the audible volume of the system on the cheap? i know the tip isnt going to effect anthing regarding volume. its got the standard 2.25 system how can i make that hum or roar? was goin to do a sway bar but have opted for the CAI. what is the quickest and most value for money place i can get one then get it installed. i want one bad and have the money. i realise the trd 1 is $500. i really want 1 that i can have and installed for bout $400. any information that can help with my situation and my couple of questions with be greatly appreciated. im interested in calling into 1 of the future meets around the goldcoast also. cheers TRAV
  15. a guard rail jumped out at me in the wet an pranged the front right quarter pannel. big hole in the front bumper + the right headlight is smashed. putting it into aami to get since i got it quoted for over 3 grand to get fixed... 1100 excess sounds better. anyway thought i would treat myself to a rear sway bar when i get it back. my cover only allows one preformance mod. im guessing a rear sway bar falls under that category. it wouldnt be possible to trick them into thinking that rear sway an front strut is one mod, would it??? damn some better handling would be great especialy for the wet an my poor tyres. anyone else useing the xr6 tires? really grippy, little too much i think as the compound wears down with my style of driving. ;) any thoughts cheers Trav
  16. thankyou all for your words of sincerety.haha. no one likes to crash. does anyone one else find that our tivo struggles a bit with a full car load of blokes?
  17. was driving back from a hangout place up at springbrook rd. if anyone knows it, they would no its a windy mountain road. one of the corners came up too fast in the rain and heavy fog, since the brakes were being used wuite a bit in the time i needed to stop the abs ruined it an i ended up goin into a guard rail. if i didnt have a full car i think it would have been different. if there was no guard rail i and 4 mates would have been over the edge. i count myself lucky. a bolt in the guard rail, ripped a huge hole in the front bumper. major dent etc in quarter panel which pushes it up to the door which inturn, restricts the door from opening. damn it im devastated. still goto tell the olds. damn the rain lucky for insurance
  18. i had a squeeking noise comming from the passengers wheel. squeeked when goin over bumps and stuff, very noticable with music off. took it in for a service today and it was the transmission mounts needed tightening. if anyone is interested.
  19. cheers, apreciation for that last post. all sorted then. looks like im talking to toyota tomorrow then. (ah dam).
  20. thankyou for that info. it says that there r 2 things that r out of regulation; the ecu and the external noise factor. i have been driving the car and nothing really seems to be wrong with the ecu. is it that it is not getting the correct kw and its too loud? feels very fast to me. and the tone is great. i kind of need a good reason to change this. will it be more powerful with the recall? will something get damaged if it isnt done? it has taken alot to get to this point, including the factor of a toyota service rep telling me it is fine. obviously as we all know, them dudes dont know the whole deal. has anyone known anybody that has done a dyno test before and after the recall. it just feels stupid that the owner before me did not take it for the recall. i mean why wouldnt he.
  21. thanks seems a little little far to cruise there. :) ......just a bit. if you dont mind sending it im happy to pay for all costs. if not dont worry. and rollamods since i have never heard of it i guess it isnt 'common' knowledge. but now its seems it should have been averted with a little common sense lol.
  22. yeah cant imagine what the other drivers are thinking when u go past them on the highway in 'lift'. i past a mate on the way to work without knowing, must have been goin in lift too coz he said it sounded really racey. :)
