  1. Yes used to it now and love it
  2. Thanks McGee for that info
  3. I like a dark tint but seems like it is not worth the risk if you risk getting a defect, glad I have a legal one.
  4. What happens if you have an illegal tint ? How do they test--do they test if you get pulled over--or is it when you get the car passed for rego ?
  5. I had mine done by Toyota, they said it was the darkest legal tint but I have seen many that are darker, it cost a bomb but said it is guaranteed
  6. I've had both--Black and white and other colours too--Black is far hotter--and does show the dust far more too--also not as easy to see as white. I now always buy White.
  7. Yes I agree with the cup holder placement--also the fact that it doesn't have rear wipers and washers--and the silly placement of the Cig' lighter--right under the hand brake--a darn pest when you have a lead for the Navman, the odometer is rather hard to read if you have the parkers on in the day time too
  8. Yes nice to have a nice looking car also--but I guess what one finds attractive another might not, ie I don't like fast back cars and never have--others love them. I guess as long as a car is reliable --comfortable--and economical and doesn't look too darn ugly it will sell.
  9. but not everyone is after a sporty car. ++ Exactly, some of us are after a good practical--reliable car and Toyota have proved to be this.
  10. ++ Maybe they will as Japan might have been set back a heap with the melt down over there, I suspect that they will glow in the dark now, as do all things from there now
  11. I don't like all those sharp angles and inny and outy bits
  12. One of the reasons why I got a Toyota was because it had a FULL size spare wheel and many didn't including the Mazda and a few others
  13. I just saw new Hyundai cars like the Veloster, 2012 model i30 and even the new Accent, and they look good. +++ Well I am not impressed with that-- and the there was the 2010 supra, dunno what happened to that, That is very UGLY
  14. You can get it off with Kero or Eucalyptus oil
  15. Thanks for your replies-- I am pleased I never waited till the new model came out not at all keen on the shape
  16. I am not keen on the new shape either--it also worries me that because of the melt down--if they will be safe--re Radiation
  17. Toyota's next-generation Yaris is set to arrive in Australia during the final quarter of 2011. But Australian motorists will not have to wait that long for their first official glimpse. A pre-production version of new Yaris will be a highlight of the Toyota stand at the Australian International Motor Show in early July. The new hatch features a completely redesigned exterior and a substantial increase in cabin space. As the image shows, designers sought a more expressive, Euro-inspired attitude for Yaris – also known in Japan as ‘Vitz’. The resulting dynamic shape delivers greater on-road presence and suggests more responsive handling. An agile and sophisticated silhouette was achieved by shaving the roofline by 15mm while lengthening the body by 100mm and the wheelbase by 50mm. The pay-off is a much roomier cabin, especially for rear-seat occupants. Clever features include UV-reducing glass in the front-door windows and a single windscreen wiper with an integrated washer nozzle for better cleaning. Yaris has been a sales success in Australia since its launch in October 2005 when it replaced the Echo (which was known as the first-generation Yaris outside Australia). Combined Echo and Yaris sales in this country led the light-car segment for six years from 2003 to 2008 and have contributed more than 200,000 of the global total, which now exceeds 3.5 million. Last year, Yaris sales grew 10.3 per cent to 21,452 units http://news.toyota.com.au/new-yaris-arrives-in-fourth-quarter
  18. Yes did look at a few of them but they had none--will enquire further thanks
  19. Does anyone have a reversing camera? Friend needs one for his van and was wondering which are good ones? Price etc and where to see them in person other than on line. Thanks
  20. I would invest in seat covers, it is amazing how well these protect the upholstery, also window socks for all windows, --don't forget to take the socks off the 2 front windows b4 driving off---even if you have tint it will still be a great help--and also a screen for the front window. As suggested b4 also keep the car washed and well polished
  21. ___ Thanks Rolla, Yes I have got one of them, will have to use that for the GPS and the Phone charger, however the Cig lighter does not work in it--because it doesn't have any tabs and so won't stay in,if I ever have to use the lighter will have to use it in the original out put.
  22. I have a Yaris --late 2010--YRS--Manual --from day one the Cig lighter has not worked right, it won't stay in and so would not heat. The GPS works fine in the outlet, on taking the lighter back to the dealer they said that the GPS was bending the points and that I would have to get an adapter, I have tried and the adapters are NO different to the plug on the GPS. It is not that I use the Cig lighter but do like to have it able to work, has anyone else had this problem ?
  23. G'day again Newbie, The engine will not labor if you are in the right gear, get used to changing down a gear for corners etc -- or when you slow down, always be in the right gear for the speed of the car and try and get used to the sound of the engine, also always go down a hill in the same gear as you would use to go up the hill, ie some steep hills you may have to use 3rd or even 2nd gear, this way you are not using your brakes you are using your motor to slow you down and this is much safer. If I can help you more please let me know.
  24. Thanks --what model and year is yours? Mine is a Yaris YRS Manual 2010 and I don't have any Fog lights
