  1. Hey jeffy, it is the same exact sub as before, just made a new box for it! I kept the original box for a couple years after I sold the corolla, but realized I can't even sell it- there's no other 8" kickers on sale in Australia to begin with. I got mine through my cousin in the US.
  2. Forgot I bought a grill for the Kicker.. cant find pics of it just yet!?! Long story short.. everything I could have transplanted from my Corolla.. is now in the Cube3 :) Kids keep entertained with the DVDs.. I get my doof doof back and there are still a few missing peices here and there that I need to buy before the Cube3 is complete again. For some reason the 3rd row headrests are missing (Expensive). Also need to order one or 2 bits of the roof racks (Cheap and local).. Budget is tight so slow and steady she goes. Thats pretty much all for now guys... happy modding!
  3. I should put a PC fan in there but not bothered atm. Thicker than OEM but whos going to notice? BECAUSE.. FILIPINO :P That is as far as its gone so far.. but I am expecting a few more things in the mail.. The cluster is VERY basic in the Cube.. need more info! The sub wasnt functioning as well as expected, but I improved the situation by adding more resin behind the front panel.. sounds better. I have my inlaws living with us for the next few months so we need to keep this car and all 3 rows of seats on the road every day which means no time for modding the cover for the sub box.. Point is it works.. no real rush to make it look pretty at this point. Just hit 90k on the Cube.. has been fun and functional thus far :) $35-$40 / tank... its a whole lot of fun.. not fast but the point is getting to where we need to go and enjoying the ride :)
  4. Vented floor panel for the sub Delcate 3 layer process before carpetting.. all made from leftover MDF and black material is leftovers from my original sub box from my Corolla sub box! $0!! New vs old
  5. Sub stored in floor behind drivers seat. Cut the foam box inside the floor to make room for the amp plus it wont move anyore. Wiring threaded through the floors and speaker wire to the sub through the door gasket..
  6. Screwed to the sides, added more and more layers inside the box. Scariest moment I had with the Cube thus far.. Box mounted and panel fitted..
  7. Actually that pic above was a "frame" which the actual front panel will lay on top of. Initially, not happy with the angle against the 3rd row seats. More parallel!
  8. Permenantly fixed to the door.. The theory is more curves, the stronger the fiberglass gets. The flat areas of fiberglass are generally the weakest.. So to remedy that.. add curves! Part of the front panel..
  9. Fiberglass layer 1 cast. Needed cutting in 2 to remove it safely from the mold. Wasnt worried since there were plenty more layers to go inside. Trial fit Minimal gap in in the back of the cavity
  10. Negative mold of the door cavity
  11. Woops.. been a while since I updated this build! Heres some pics.. not exactly in the mood to go into full written detail atm.
  12. iLoad? How much family do you need to cart around? Have you not been able to see the similarities between the Cube and the Rukus? wtf dude
  13. wow! If the Rukus had 7 seats I might not have bought my Cube! Looks awesome!
  14. 6" Stock speakers OUT. 6.5" Rockford Fosgate PUNCH split speakers IN! After carefully positioning the drivers side tweeters, I lined up the two panels together and poked a protractor through the holes to make sure that the tweeters are symmetrial.
  15. The expanding foam in the cardboard box will be a mold for the fiberglass box I need to build for the subwoofer. Doing this means I can fiberglass without having to stink up the car with fumes!
  16. Changed plans for the subwoofer. It will go in the rear door!
  17. We backed into a tree.. tail light broke into 2 pieces! DIY FIX = $0. All you need to repair are these.. + extra plastic thats exactly the same type as the original tail light. Melt mesh into plastic with flattened soldering iron.
  18. Can I still come with my Nissan Cube? I still have my '96 rav4 although I'd rather drive the Cube to a meet!
  19. 2 compressors and the tank is shaped like the spare tire? Would you be able to let us know the brand?? I've read up a bit about air suspension for my Nissan cube.. apparently it is possible to have a single compressor only.. Obviously it would take longer to inflate and no bouncing/dancing.. and one ride height setting for all 4 corners. Although you have two (that I can see), are they terribly noisy when they are compressing?
  20. Nice rukus! Do you have pics of the air suspension install? How much space did the tank etc take up and where is that all stored?
  21. http://youtu.be/reWe9X8mW68 My son makes an appearance in this.. Although I didn't plan it that way!
  22. It's awesome how no two cubes are ever really exactly the same.. Seems there's so many different options that they all have individual differences in fabric, windows, heaps of factory options- that's before the aftermarket parts like the rims really make each cube stand out. My cube was pretty plain compared to the autech rider models however mine was the only cube with nissan roofracks.
