  1. Guys... i went to jax tyre today to do some alignment and balancing on the Yaris, while here they quote me $159 bucks for Pirelli P7 215/60/R16 or $700s including fittings and alignments... (promotions running till end of Sept)

i was thinking of changing the tyres coz i reckon i overinflated the dunny sp sports 300e tyres to about 38-39 psi (r16s) so now the side has more trend than the centre... (the centre groove running across the tyre almost visible where as there seems to have abit more tread on the side...)

just wondering if i should get it done coz i read nothing but good things about the P7s and dont know if they gonna do a promotion on the P7 again next year, rotating the tyre would probably get me another 10k -15k km as the rear wasnt new when i got the Aurion via auction last year... (only the front 2 was new...), just wondering if i should bite the bullet now or hope they have a good deal going on next year? the lazy me didnt do any rotation for the last 30k km :P

ofcoz the Aurion will never be use as a track weapon or even for Nebo run (the Yaris will gleefully take her place... :P), but i will using it mainly for short day trips in and around GC/SC areas...

  2. price wise from memory i was told imports would have about 10k - 20k over the locally made Klugers, cars such as the Landcruisers are actually more expensive than ours in Australia but didnt found out wat sort of trim levels was available...

they only need to pay annual comprehensive insurance but they are not required to pay 'regos' and they need to scrape their vehicles every 8 years...

Wish Toyota would import the Crowns into Australia as I would take one over the Aurions :P

  3. there is no major differences apart that is made in China's factories so its cheaper/affordable than imported Kluger/Highlander...

the only distinctive sign you know thats Chinese made is on the left side of the boot would have the region of where the car was made...

  4. sound deadening does make alot of different especially for a cheap and cheerful car like the Yaris where the metal skin etc are thinner and has little OEM sound deadening materials in and around the car...

ofocz taking the seats, carpets and panels are PITA especially if you intend to do it in one day like me :P

  5. great stuff!!!

glad you made the trip and the demonstrated the Kluger is a tough as nails AWD something even the 4WD will need to respect for, i think the only thing holding it back is the lack of range (fuel tank)...

  6. well i normally do the engine oil and filter change myself, air filter is ***** easy...

only PITA change would be spark plugs, brake fluids & fuel and in tank filter which most probably need the car to be jack up and my home does not have level ground so makes it just that much more dangerous...

anyway when do you change the alternator/ engine belt? its not specified in the service manual...?!
