  2. Why do you have a bad feeling? Is the auto dimmer on the rear view mirror and auto sensor not connected properly or has your windscreen been replaced in the past? I've uploaded a couple of pics of my car, one from outside and one from inside. The outside pic - On a geniune Presara windscreen, the rain sensor area is completely clear i.e. no black dots you can see surrounding it. The inside pic - The rain sensor is on the left which can easily be unclipped from the bottom. The windscreen on my car must have been replaced in the past but they forgot to transfer that rubber piece which was why it didn't work initially.
  3. By chance, does it have anything to do with magnifying tape? I also had a problem with the auto wiper some time back but it was the opposite, the thing whould not turn on at all. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27441&st=0&p=391012entry391012 Also is the windscreen a geniune Toyota windscreen with that top area cleared for an auto sensor? Hope this helps.
  4. Here is the bittorrent link if you would like to 'testdrive' the software first. http://btjunkie.org/torrent/Whereis-V16-Sat-Nav-Lexus-Toyota-Ford/43586349cb618fe413cf1a17f5a4df965fbe9baf44de $285 for an update seems slightly excessive....
  5. Hi everyone, by chance does anyone know how to deactivate the Toyota Link without taking it to Toyota? I spoke to the Toyota Link advisor from within the car and she stated although I was no longer subscribed, the beeping would continue til I took it to Toyota to fully deactivate the service or until 'the sim expired'.... Toyota said they would charge $60 - $120, for such service I'm pretty sure wouldn't take much time and I can't justify being charged so much for something that doesn't take much time. Please see my previous post regarding changing the auto rain sensor pad. Sim card? Does anyone know where it is? Maybe I can remove it and stop the beeping myself. What's the worst that could happen, I can't use my Aurion as a phone....Lucky I have a actual mobile phone as a back up. Regards.
  6. Hi everyone, as u54mot said, it was the Toyota Link after all. When I purchased it 2 months ago, the Toyota Link functions was already switched off and deactiviated. Pressing the Toyota Link buttons back then did nothing. For no apparent reason, the beeping started 2 days ago and when I pressed the Link button this morning out of curiosity, a Toyota rep. was on the line! She stated even though I was no longer subscribed, she had no idea why it was working. So now I guess I have to take it to Toyota to fully switch it off. Thanks again to u45mot for identifying the original problem.
  7. ---------------------------------------- Thanks u54mot for your reply. Yeah, I purchased it used a few months ago and didn't bother to renew the Toyota Link service. It was already deactivated by the time I bought it so it's a bit strange that the beeping only started a couple of days ago. I might give Toyota a call and see if they can switch it off.
  8. Hi everyone, I have a 2007 Aurion Presara and in the last couple of days I started to notice an unknown beeping noise. It beeps 5 times whenever I start the car and after I turn off the engine, the beeping seems to come from the rear area. It's not connected to any warning lights or messages on the dashboard and does not affect overall performance. I just have no idea what it means and it's only started in the last couple of days. I'm pretty certain it's not related to open doors, parking sensors, seat beats and engine issues (due to no dashboard messages). Does anyone have any ideas? It's starting to drive me a bit nuts...
  9. Hi everyone, great forum and this is my first post. I recently purchased a used Aurion with auto rain sensor which wasn't working. The reason was the windscreen was replaced in the past and the piece of clear rubber that sat between the rain sensor and windscreen was missing. Toyota called this part magnifying tape, it was essentially 1mm clear rubber, the size of a postage stamp. Anyway, Toyota charged 30.00 for this tape and another 70.00 to install it. Fortunately for me, they weren't able to install it on the spot and stated it would take an hour. They did mention any windscreen shop could do it. Although it was a straight forward install, I wasn't willing to attempt ungluing the rain sensor and gluing it back on with the tape on incase I seriously messed things up. As it turned out, the rain sensor was not glued onto the windscreen! It was clipped onto a bracket that was glued to the windscreen. It was just a case of unclipping the sensor, whacking on the tape and clipping it back onto the bracket. Total time - 5 minutes (including careful cleaning of sensor and windscreen and being careful not to leave finger prints on tape). Total savings - $70. Hope this helps you. Have a great day.
