  1. Over here in WA not much is illegal compard to the east.... but that my friend is illegal....

Any Blue/Red flashing or neon light is classed as emergency lights. Exspect a yellow sticker and a warning from it.

That personaly i woudln't bother with - 1 reason why, where are the wires going to connect, as i wouldn't want to drill through the roof :\

  2. Funny you mention this. I too have the Autome unit and just yesterday afternoon, it started playing up. Not quite like yours, but playing up nevertheless. My sub keeps cutting out randomly. I have my sub plugged into the stereo out and not the dedicated subwoofer output because I prefer it that way. Basically it comes and goes and sometimes a solid bump in the road or a sharp turn will cause it to come back on when it disappears. The same doesn't really apply for when it cuts out though. I could just be sitting at the lights and it would disappear. It seems to also be affected by temperature (more evidence towards dry joints).

I'm suspecting that over time after heating and cooling inside the car all the time, it has developed some dry joints inside on the amplifier components or something. I won't really know until I take it out tomorrow and make a quick inspection. I don't expect to be able to fix it, but I'll do what I can.

In other words, I can't really help you out. Sh*t happens... More so with Cheap Chinese Sh*t.

Update: Seems like my problem just got worse. Not only is my sub cutting in and out, but the entire low frequency range is cutting in and out on all speakers (which are powered by the head unit). At times it sounds like the sound is only coming from the tweeters. I think this unit is going to be destined to the bin.

    ohh... not good.

I'm planning to get the Easydeals version, but they don't have any stock till late feb/early march - hope this issue dosen't exist in their models >_<

  3. I think the stock ATX one would look good painted black all over. not willing to give it a try tho hahaha

You got me thinking, if you can get the paint to stick, some interesting options.....

    Looks like a good idea....

i'll consult with my dad on options to paint it black... let you all know what i decide :)

  4. fair enough, it will be the last time i deal with them tho.

Only one positive they had was their packaging techniques O_o

Item + Buuble Wrap 1 length goes around item three times X 2 layers + Heavy duty cardboard box + Thick brown wrapping paper + thick string hahahaha

  5. A bit yeah lol The guy in spare parts seams like a real narcissist! And this is twice he cant find the invoice, my rego, and it all sounds like an effort to help! huffing and puffing on the phone, Since I ordered in Dec 11 and I can hear knocking coming from it I would of expected high priority

My fault I shouldn't of ordered from Australian Toyota I should of gone direct to USA or Japan.

take it up with the manager, if not state manager ? - Letters go a long way.

Example - Sidchrome tool chest i got for my 21st last year came damaged/disfunctional 3 times from Repco. Wrote a letter to Repco Aust, 3 weeks later i had a tool chest (next model up) and few extra tools on the house, also dropped their price by $200, all for the f |_| ck around they caused.

So intern write a letter, see what ya get out of it :)

  6. Nice.

I used self adhesive LED strip lights for mine.

Sticky backed, so they can be mounted on the side of the map pocket to clear any "things" that people put in there.

Low power consumption, like that's an issue.

I have blue in the footwells, door pockets and boot.

With the LED stips, which side of the door pocket did you mount them on, the side closest to the seat or on the door side?

I would mount closest to the seat facing the light into the door, so as to reflect on the "backing" to shine back into the car... bit like a mirror :)

Chicken: the lights would be dimmable if I added and inline adjustable dimmer but each door would have be done seperately as they piggy back off the puddle lamps, alternatively as a permanent solution I could extend the wire from the transformer to the cathode, but I like them bright as they aren't on when i drive.

Nothing really protects them as I don't put anything inside the pockets, but they will be replaced by surface mounted LEDs when they turn up which will also be located in the knee high pockets too biggrin.gif

Yeah the colour isn't my favourite either, I'm going for blue and then I'm getting UV down lights for under my bonnet and then I'm going to put green uv cable sleeving on all the hoses and wires in my engine bay

How did the cathodes perform as footwell lights particularly when they fade in or out with the interior light or did they just go out or come on immediately?

Ive seen cathode footwell lights, looks good but the LED Strips are awesome as they stick to nearly any surface and the aurion has a flat spot under the dash that is just perfect, unlike the cathodes that are bulky and just hang there.

Examples of LED Strip in my car.

  7. Not very happy with the quality of the Front grill from RStyle....

Very flimsy and mesh is only cable tied to the plastic surround.

Nor does it mesh up properly with the bumper, bonnet or screw holes.

Looks nice but realllllllly wasn't worth wasting the time nor money on it.

Anyone else have a opinion on the quality or the look ?

    Photo's below :\
