  1. Talking about Launching hard. When I launch hard (5000 - 6000) the car tends to refuse to go into 2nd (No - I do not wanna discuss my Gearbox woes ) Well OK ... sometimes it does go in ... and when it does ... B) I was just wondering at what rev you were launching at ?? ← cool, nice time mate, judging by ur 60ft time and mph, 14 second pass should be easy!!! i ran at WSID last nite in my civic vtir, first run ran a 15.49 with a 2.43 60ft, then my third run i got a 15.137 with a 2.21 60ft time!!
  2. imo, just buy what is recommended for your car, ie 10w-30 and change it every 5000kms. I drive a car similar to your stivo's - a honda civic vtir, and i've tried numerous brands of oil, but to be honest, the difference in performance isnt not worth the difference in $. i just use honda FEO, at $27/5litres, and change it regularly! hope that helps. I've had mobil 1 synth s 10w40 etc before but there wasnt that much difference tbh. :)
  3. those times are abit slow i think its coz it only includes the first session where people still warming up and getting used to the track. for the entire listing of times, go here http://www.racetime.com.au/?event=i0411&e=g01&view=fastest might give better indication! nice times nonetheless, for comparison's sake, my friend angelo in his stockasarock EK4/civic hatch vtir also did 1:21 on yoko a539's!
  4. phillips diamond vision and crystal vision, although they are more expensive than the blue vision range, actually result in decreased visibility compared to stock bulbs. so, when upgrading lights, are you doing it for the look? or do you want better visibility?
  5. nice dude, the face lifted model looks much better imo :) really gets rid of the 4x4 stance that corollas have, just need some bigger rims now ! ur car looks like mine now, slammed on stock rims, making the stock rims look puny!
  6. good times guys, both the levin n sportivo :) what did the silver EK4/civic vtir run? might be good to compare, im guessing hi 15's if it was stock??
  7. if ur in sydney, i know a guy that does a fantastic job, less than 200 tints all round, one piece rear window. he can tint any 5 10 15 20 35 % , whatever u like, PM me if you want his contact ! maybe u sportivo owners should organise some form of a tint day.. get about 6-7 cars done all in one day.. PM me if u want his contact !
  8. love that white sportivo with dirty bronze rims!!
  9. ahhhhh! u guys went to OP???? i would of came along with a few hondas if we had known earlier haha.. oh wells! 8pm i was still in process of taking apart my suspension so couldnt head down to the meet spot to have a lil chat with u boys :( glad u guys had fun, OP is much much better than RNP!
  10. heh... well i invited some civic coupe vtirs and dc5r and integra vtirs.. but none of them are keen on going south through RNP! :( we went a fortnight ago and its too bumpy and rough, compared to the smooth surfaces of OP! but if you're going for a fun cruise, its not too bad, just be careful, theres a corner known as Bob's bend. its right after a straight and if you're not paying attention, it is easy to go straight into the ditch hehehe.. unfortunately, it claimed one of our civics last time we went, so be careful!!! i might come out to the meeting point and check out some corollas hehehe, otherwise I'm out for this one dudes, the OH boys have organised a lil leisurely cruise to the city, meeting up at 10pm.. :/
  11. hondas.. not many atm im afraid.. my usual honda crew got all sorts of excuses heh.. if i can drag one or two out, ill come out ! dont wanna be nigel n bullied by toyota boys. :D
  12. well it is not really adjustable so to speak, as it is more of a set the height of the perch then never touch it again, unless u want to dismantle the entire suspension each time imagine this on the shock body, there are grooves for the perches.. with a c-clip to hold the perches in place. to adjust the perch, u have to undo the suspension and remove the c clip and mount the perch on a different level (|//////|}=== ^ perch heheheh now after adjusting it (|//////|}== something like that !
  13. koni yellow adjustable shocks have adjustable perches.. so infact u can adjust height! :) the front has 2 perches, a) stock height B) 1" lower than stock the back has 3 perches a) approx 1" higher than stock B) stock c) approx 1" lower than stock so effectively, if u have a 1" drop from your springs, you could get a 2" drop simply by lowering the perches! HTH
  14. heh, i've had enuff with public meets for a while. organised a meet for civic owners, ended up having 30 cars. altho it was great to meet everyone etc, its way too many ppl to coordinate a leisurely drive without losing people at sets of lights, or blocking up the general traffic. so yeh, i think it'd be best if we limit it to a dozen-ish cars. otherwise we should separate into smaller groups :) up to u corolla boys!
  15. from my experience owning a Civic VTI-R, which i guess can be compared to ur high revvin sportivos. when getting an aftermarket exhaust for the car, alot of research should be done. most local exhaust shops dont know much about our high revving, small displacement machines. as far as i know, changing the muffler will yield little if not, no gains in power at all. it's all noise!!! changing the exhaust from cat. converter back, if done correctly will give some small gains, im talking like coupla kw's at the wheels. by correctly, i mean the right size piping etc. i'm not too familar with corollas and their factory piping sizes, however, you guys should find out what size piping the TRD system is, and tell ur local exhaust shop for some mandrel bent piping in that particular diameter piping. the most gains are to be had in the header, matched with a hiflowing cat and well thought out catback piping + muffler, expect to get some decent gains! when getting a catback exhaust, expect to lose a bit of torque down low, its not really noticeable, since civic vti'rs are gutless down low anyways (im assuming ur corollas are the same), however topend, is where u'll find gains, besides, when u want ur car to go quick, ur just playing with top end anyways right, ie in the LIFT ZONE! :) so yeh - that is my opinion based on my own experiences when researching to upgrade my factory system. its easier for us honda boys as there are plenty of JDM bolt ons made for our cars.. however, toyota's aftermarket is somewhat smaller in comparison, so do ur research !!! PS: sorry for the overly long post.
  16. hey, just want to provide a bit of info most proper short shifters, arent exactly shorter than your stock shifter. the throw is shorter, however height is usually the same as the stock shifter.
  17. hey dudes, my names tony, i own a stock honda civic vti-r, xoom msged me about this meet and somehow i found my way over here :) as for this quote hehehe.. theres a lil joke on the OH board.. that particular Prelude has lost to an integra GSi few times in the past, and also a Pulsar SSS once, but still holds his chin up high.. the quote is slightly sarcastic, and the general consensus is that we'd like to see one of your 'stivos beat the prelude just for some laughs... so yeh.. its not a challenge by any means, there are faster civics/integras on OH than that particular prelude... just wanted to clear things up as for a lil meet, i have not spread the word yet but i will probably invite a handful or so hondas, anymore and we'll be attracting too much attention and making too much noise, especially since u got a few guys + frends coming already! also, i've met most of the boys on the forums that attend the meets, i can safely say that none of them will go pyscho or be disgruntled after losing a funrun.. so yeh hehehe.. dont worry about any disputes or anything like that :D riteo, 'nuff from me, cya around the boards!
