Massive WIN :D They look fantastic - would definitely make all the waiting worthwhile!
-
I'm sure you can all relate to this. 2 cars driving side by side on the motorway doing 20kmh below the speed limit
Even worse is when it looks like they're passing each other and they just keep swapping places but never get far enough ahead of each other for you to make it around them <_<
-
These are going to look H-O-T :D Can't wait to see them on the car!
-
Heheheh - glad to have another gold owner on board, they look marvellous :D Completely agree with your comments above about it changing colour in the sun, have you had an overcast day yet?? The colour really pops on overcast days too :D
I hope the plates arrive very soon in the mail then! Pics please as soon as you get them :)

Pretty mixed date range here! Struggling to think of which one to pick :) Looks like the weekend of 21st/22nd is the goer, now to decide on a Saturday or a Sunday meet-up.
Any thoughts yet on where to go/what to do?

quick reply... but im not going to be able to make this one... family commitments as most of you know :)
Very important family committments too! :D We totally have to have a BBQ or something later on so you can introduce us all to the new bubby

Hey guys. This pinned thread will be the Victorian thread for future meets from now on.
If you would like to organise a meet, please let either Tash or me know via private message and we will update the first post as soon as possible. This will keep the "Upcoming Events and Meets" as clean as possible. If by any chance you make another thread by accident we can merge the topics to this one.
Please note: This thread is only for people in TOCAU who are organisng the meets. If there is an external meet, you can make another thread outside this one.

Thanks for the pink D.
And seriously guys, I have been to three of these now, and they are a LOT of fun... especially when you travel to a different city to do it... IMO it good to stay on for a few extra days if you can and see a bit more of the city. The Brisbane guys will be happy to help there.
+1 to this - I have been looking forward to this for months :D And am also looking forward to checking out Brisbane again, I have not been up there in about 8 years.
First page plans look great, especially Saturday - afternoon show and shine is excellent too, plenty of time to get everything looking spic and span!
I have just applied for another job so am hoping that doesn't throw a spanner in the works holiday wise, fingers crossed it won't :)

A bit late but a few days ago the car had a service and Green SMD LED's put in the interior, no door lights though in the car :( So I will have to work out some sort of lighting arrangement for the floor/feet. Also had the Ultra Racing 19mm rear sway bar put in at the service, initial feelings are great but have really only been through roundabouts in town, waiting for an opportunity to do some more spirited driving.
Also with benji's help took off the front bumper to suss out the grille, can't mesh it myself without some angle grinding action to a donor grille so will look at importing a mesh set from the states one of these days I guess.

Very very very nice :D Loving the red and black (I'm an Essendon supporter) It looks very mean from the back with those tinted tails
-
Certainly a good project at any rate - not too many limits with where you can go with it and you've got a pretty good blank canvas to start off with too :D
Any thoughts on what colour you'd do the respray??
-
Hahah that is fabulous!
-
Very nice! I'm guessing silver is a fave
Any upcoming plans?
-
Hey and welcome :) The stivo is very nice looking - they always look great in silver :D Seen quite a few Starlets around done like this, must be something popular to do that I'm missing
Any mods for the stivo??
-
Very nice car, love the colour!
-
Love the chair :D The giant Yoshi is even better!
-
Definitely - I reckon it would come in very handy indeed, I've often founds lots of good things for the Camry/Aurion on my searches that I'm sure others would be interested in. Perhaps a pinned thread?

Those photos are fabulous - what a great location! Definitely worth getting kicked out for So many lovely cars over in WA!

Ouch! And I bet the monthly cost is pretty pricey? I understand your point of view much more now, for me its "only" $900 at the moment if I hit someone, next year when I turn 25 it'll be $450. It's pretty ridiculous how they work it all out though, different streets and different suburbs, and then because there are many accidents in Camry's they charge you more, that's not really fair when you consider how many Camry's are sold. I just changed mine back to RACV recently because AAMI's premium went up again, I couldn't believe there was an increase because I'd moved basically 1km from my old house, still in the same suburb and within 5 min walking distance of the CBD and they wanted another $6 a month. I know there's got to be some way to work out their premiums but some of the conditions seem pretty unfair, but I guess as with all insurance if you want it you have to pay for it (case in point, private health insurance has just had another price rise).
Anyway, here's a new stupid question - Twitter. So I'm getting the concept of a #hashtag, basically I can use the # and put whatever I want after it? So the update I made today was that I wished I could be home playing #3DS instead of stuck at stupid #work, so it just means if people search for 3DS or Work my Tweet might come up in their feed? I'm trying to get into using it a bit more but can't say I'm really across it as yet, I was a slow adopter to Facebook too

Looks like you all had a great time! :D The pictures look awesome - haven't had the opportunity to check out any of the video's yet. And what gorgeous weather, the footy was perfect too (Go Bombers!) Top stuff on all your results too

IMO I would still go through insurance, even if it is only "just a scratch" - I had pretty much the same scenario in my old Camry, someone hit me from behind while I was stationary at lights. Even for a light hit it broke the board that sits over the spare wheel and put a few decent scratches on the bumper, the person who hit me said he knew a panel beater blah blah blah Easiest option for me was to go through insurance, when they're at fault they have to pay whatever their excess is, so too bad for them - they should have been paying attention and not hit you in the first place.
Let the insurance company do all the running around chasing him up and all you have to do is take it to your choice of repairer :)
But if the person was a good person, and had a option to pay 300 dollars instead of the insurance sending a quote for $1500. I rather help them out because we could be in a similar situation one day and karma's a B*tch
That's only if they don't have insurance though - although I do get your point, it could be a 21 y.o with an excess of $900 or so dollars but still, that's what an excess is for. I just think its better to let the insurance handle it all on your behalf, that way you're not getting involved in making promises to someone and you've actually got proper record of it happening, otherwise it can all just break down into an I said/They said scenario, not much good to try and threaten them with insurance later on. That's just my thoughts anyway, because yes I agree karma is a b!tch but after all, you've got to protect yourself in these situations because no one else well.
Best of luck with it all Synthetic05, just stay positive and do what you can do :) And then just think, when its back you're going to have a gorgeous shiny new rear end :D

ROFL!! I am laughing so hard @ the Asian Talk
-
Dw, if I go, I'll probably be the only camry there as always rofl.
Only cos I live like 150km away! :P
Have fun guys, won't be able to make it down for this one but hope to get to another Friday night meet in future :)

Hahah well yes you do owe and yes, you are a show off :P
Alrighty then so Sunday May 22nd it is, I will get rid of the poll and we'll put on some serious thinking caps. Is there a park close to Duy's family fish and chip shop?? Could cheat this time and have every contribute some $$ and just put in a big order and eat in the park, and just BYO drinks again. Will still be Autumn but some April days have been cold so no idea what the weather would be like.
Garage Cafe is closed on Sunday's so if the weather forecast looks no good is there another good location with plenty of parking we could sit, eat and chat? Then maybe a short cruise somewhere for some afternoon photos and break off. TBH I don't think I'd be up for a cruise next month as there's a bit on, so my vote is for just a general catch-up style meet.
