  1. Based on that Go Auto article and the pictures above, if that's the way they're going to look the next gen Camry is much better looking than the next gen Aurion imo! Echoing the sentiments of the comments above, it doesn't look right at all. The spy pics indicate something pretty decent underneath for the Camry, can't wait to see what the next gen Sportivo looks like :D

That midnight blue colour looks amazing and I love the grille and lights :) (middle picture of the Go Auto article)

  2. Just wondering, is there only one carpark along Albert Park Drive? Seeing as I don't know anyone here, I don't want to end up in the wrong place LOL and would there definitely be enough space for all our cars?

alistersh has answered your question perfectly, there is heaps of room there for our meets :) If you look at the Google map reference (first post of this thread) its the first car park off to the left which is Albert Park Drive, you can only turn into it and you can't get in from the other end. But yes, definitely won't be easy to miss a whole heap of Toyota's ;) We don't bite either so please come along and introduce yourself!

i''ll pop down for a catch up on the arvo, but i'm not able to make it for dinner

Good stuffs - I don't think I have caught up with you in aaaaaaaaaages! Not sure where we're heading after Albert Park so have you got someone's mobile # in case we're not there? But I daresay we'll be at Albert Park from 2 until at least 3 before moving onto other photo locations.

Speaking of photo locations, is there enough room to park in front of the pits at Albert Park? I know technically its a road but last time they had chicanes and a heap of room so it looked like maybe you could park quickly and get a few snaps and then move on but correct me if I'm wrong :)

  3. Have been slack and yet to comment but I absolutely love this thread :D Agree 100% with all of the above on the products I have tried, if there are any others I can add over time I will but you've basically covered off everything I've used except a couple of new Meg's products. I will put some thought into what I can write about Ultimate Polish ;)

  4. The main thing at the moment is some photo locations to fill in time between meeting at Albert Park and heading for dinner - I definitely want to go under the Bolte again and in front of those sheds where we took photos, but as for other locations apart from Albert Park I'm not sure, so anything you and others can suggest would be great ;)

Ah, Bolte Bridge! FYI, that was about two years ago - the first meet I organised! Not sure if we'll be able to go into that industrial area like last time though. Otherwise, we can also go to the other place under the Bolte that Reece showed us. :)

This might be a good idea or not, we can go to Royal Botanic Gardens/Shine of Remembrance before going to Bolte Bridge and Garage Cafe? It will be kind of a double up, as in it will be another park scenery..

hoping to be able to make an appearance at the end of the month :)

    Come mate! :P

Jeffy, sorry to hear mate. Come if you can; meet some new faces. :)

I know, it was such a long time ago! I loved those shots in front of the sheds so if we can't get there it's a shame but never mind, would love to see Reece's location as well.

Would be really happy to go to the Botanic Gardens/Shrine of Remembrance as well, I think that'd be really cool and a great place for some photos. You can never have too many parks ;)

No worries Jeffy, hopefully you can make it. And huey and Nath, you both better be there! :P

  5. I never really understood having a wood trim (real or not) in a modern car. Something just doesn't seem right.

As for the Camry, once could only hope that it is somewhat improved. I like how Akio Toyoda mentions "we have listened to our customers" etc etc. If they mate a manual gearbox to the 2GR-FE, then I would say they have listened.

+1 to this, although all the articles/rumours of late suggest that the manual gearbox is essentially dead in Toyota's eyes when it comes to the majority of their cars :( I don't understand how they can market it/progress with both an Aurion and a Camry, sure one is 4 cyl and the other a V6 but if they are both automatic only then there's not a great deal of point of difference other than the engine, wouldn't you just bring back a V6 Camry and drop the Aurion moniker? Or vice versa. I suppose though it is an easy way for customers to tell the difference in engine.

It looks pretty nice at the moment anyway for a start, I quite like the new headlights. Will be interesting to see what the new Aurion looks like in comparison.

  6. if you can arrange some please, that'd be great :)

I will see what I can do :)

might have another gen 6 camry taggin along with us tash!

Hooray! :D I wonder what happened to Josh I think it was too, he had a silver gen 6 sportivo and met us one day at Lilydale Lake. The more Camry's the better, won't be so outnumbered by the 'rollas

  7. oh a quick question,

is anyone going to bring some tocau support car sticker thingies ?

id like to get my hands on a pair,

Hi Jeffy - unless Andy (Blind Kid Seeks) still has some left then no, the TOCAU supporter stickers get sent out from Steve when you become a Silver member, and the rounded style that a few of us have (common place is on a rear door in the triangular section of glass) I haven't seen down here for a while. Brendan in Brisbane had some though so I can probably arrange for a few to be sent down, they cost $10 each.

    Too easy tash

He will reserve a table for 20 for us. I will book it by the end of the week (most likely friday since i may go there after work for a feed)

Excellent thanks Reece, I'd say 20 should be more than enough even including the +1s :) Yum, looking forward to it!

  8. ok went to gc lastnight, and cause there were 2 cars parked on either side of the driveway i couldnt angle it as much, and front lip dragged...

    so be very afraid LOLOL

tash if you need me to book it let me know. Im there a bit and the owner knows who i am so atleast if you need a hand to book just let me know numbers

Hey Reece, if you could book it that would be fantastic - saves me trying to catch them when they're open to call. At this stage please book for 15 based on the attendance list, but let them know we may want to up that to 20 :) That way we can update them again a bit closer to the date.

    its all upto Dwee....

iim bringing my dslr as well, plus my cousin and his dslr,

Awesome Jeffy, not all the pressure on me! :P

Tash, let us know too if you need a hand! :)

  9. might be a small issue with my camera for this meet...the missus is going to Sydney to visit her sister the same weekend, she want the DSLR for that trip.

i can beat her up and just take it,but it's prolly frowned upon in this day & age,so chilvary is not dead...she can have it. :D

    its all upto Dwee....

Hahaha, it would most definitely be frowned upon, so you better let her take it

iim bringing my dslr as well, plus my cousin and his dslr,

Excellent jeffy, a lot of us have digital camera's but the dslr shots are of course even more spectacular :D

Keep thinking up some locations people to hit up after Albert Park as well!

  10. Wow!! What a great turnout of some new members :D Really looking forward to meeting you all and checking out these cars - should make for some fantastic photos  Lee and Peter, I'm looking at you with those DSLR's

To those worrying about getting into Garage Cafe, with the numbers we have I doubt many of us will be parking inside!! :P Street parking for me.

  11. Alright its set then this meet will be Saturday the 30th July! ...

Damn! Not happening the week of my b'day, 1 week too late! No cake for me noooooooooooooooo lol.

Anywho's, hopefully I'll be able to make this meet and finally get the chance to meet some fellow Vic TOCAU'ers!

Heheh, I'm sure the cake can perform double duties for both you and Trung ;) I hope you can make it as well!

    1) Tash

    2) Alistersh

    3) 1st kill

    4) private_numero

tash, ill come until 4pm then boot off to work then meet you all at garage cafe at around 8pm if you guys are still around!

hopefully the car will have a few extra goodies on it by then too!

No worries Reece sounds great to me, I'll update the first post again with the initial meet-up location, and I reckon we'd still be at The Garage Cafe at 8pm, 4 hours worth of chatting and photos in the arvo and then many more hours chatting over dinner :D

  12. Hey and welcome :) The rims aren't my style but they definitely suit the black Aurion - everyone has different taste ;) There's quite a few Aurions in and around Perth now too which is great for you, so plenty of inspiration locally and on the east coast, best of luck with the coilovers and any future plans!

  13. Looking gooooooooooooooooooooooooood :D :yahoo:

Thanks Tash, congrats on getting runner-up interior.

Thanks heaps Rob - was very very chuffed on getting it :) And I have lots of ideas now heheheh

The new photos look great, even 'dirty', that stance is just mad :D What's next on the agenda, more camber? :)
