  1. Heheh I got it from a very special source :) Basically just a bulk shipment from Amazon, so I've also got some gallon bottles of their Detailers line at home now too :D The endurance tire gel that is now in a spray bottle is a stack better as well (can now get trigger or aerosol, Autobarn tell me they expect to have the 2011 products around July - pretty terrible considering Amazon have been selling them since January!)

What you've said about the M205 is basically spot on, and I think their use of the word 'Ultimate' is mostly marketing spin, and designed to get consumers to line up the products in their mind as in they will have Ultimate Compound, followed by Ultimate Polish, followed by their Ultimate Wax, which I think is available as a liquid and as a paste. I am keen to try the AG regime too, but with Meg's doing such a good job for me at the moment I am finding it hard to stray too

In terms of a write-up I will knock something up, I've only got the one photo of it on my car before I hit it with wax but you should be able to see enough of a result from that :)

  2. Oh dear - that was a very old post! I did do some work on Saturday but no Ultimate Compound, however I did try out Meg's new Ultimate Polish. It's not out in Australia yet as its part of their new 2011 product range. I am very impressed with it too, does exactly what it says on the bottle which is to add a layer of gloss and reflectiveness, and it helps to even out the swirl marks as well, and I did notice it had this effect.

The only annoyance with it is that you cannot let it dry, so as soon as I applied it I had to remove it before it dried. So I can see that having one of their Dual Action polishers would make this step much, much easier!

Have only clayed, polished and waxed the car, lots of work to do before the annual still! (most of which will be done up there)

  3. Hi there,

just wondering if you may be able to keep me posted with when the next meet will be as I am keen to come along for my First time !!

    Cheers

    Wayne Jordan

Hey Wayne, of course! :) Just keep your eye on this thread as this is our pinned one for Victorian monthly meets, the TOCAU annual is taking place next month so looks like the next one will be in July.

There's also a meet planned for this Friday night too if you check out the rest of the Upcoming Club Meets & Events forum :)

  4. ......stay with BG Pete and then is Sydney - Brisbane doable in a day?

Yes, Sydney > Brisbane is doable in a day.

And my door is always open....with notice :)

Awesome, thanks very much, I will let you know asap :) Definitely want to drive so am just sussing out how that would work, the more I think about heading home to Bright first and then to Sydney, and then from Sydney to Brisbane the more I like it. Still the same amount of petrol but saves on accommodation, and still puts me up there the week beforehand so I can go check out the Gold Coast etc Then at least I'd have company on the return trip to drive back to Syd :)

  5. Public transport isn't fantastic, but if you know your routes it isn't so bad. Worst case scenario, I can (if available) ferry you around.

Would love some tips from the Queen of Cleaning but I would have offered shotgun anyway.

Heheh Queen of Cleaning, I like that! :D Thanks heaps for the help, really means a lot to me :)

There is public transport to the GC and all around brisbane, it depends what your definition of good is though.

Lol fair enough Mick, I still really want to drive, I just need to work out the sums better. I don't so much mind $600 odd worth of petrol, but since I'm driving up by myself I'll have to pay for accommodation on the way up too. Unless I maybe go home to Bright first, Bright to Sydney (was about 7 hours), stay with BG Pete and then is Sydney - Brisbane doable in a day?

  6. Heheh yeah, very apt way of putting it!

The more I think about it, I will fly, just weighing up the costs of driving and I am pretty sure I wouldn't be able to afford to do that, especially when Tiger Airways had flights up for $1 and the return flight was $70. That way I've got more money to spend on fun holiday things :D Is there good public transport to get down to the Gold Coast? I might be able to hire a car, but at 24 I'm still a year under their usual 25 y.o limit. And I guess is there good public transport around Brisbane in general?

I'll help you clean your car Andrew if I can shotgun around the meet activities :D

Oh and count me in for the go karting now too then, can I direct deposit you the $20 Daryl?

  7. Alrighty - well I just found out I didn't get the job, which sucks, but in a piece of much better news I will now 100% definitely be coming to the National :D I have hols booked in the current job from the 6th to the 20th, so now I'm just working out if I can afford to drive up on Saturday the 4th (as I want my trip up there to be good holiday time, and time to see and do things) or do I fly up and back and just use public transport/bum rides off you QLD'ers :)

  8. Hey Kirius, certainly a pretty big project you've got on the go there :) The new wheels look a lot better than the old chromies, and I do like the front end of that kit. Good luck getting it all fixed up properly and painted. What's next on the agenda?

(and yes, your signature piccie is far too big, please at least halve it :))

  9. Totally agree Andy, not living in Melb I originally pitched it as a catch-up and was looking for suggestions on places to meet up that you guys have been to. My plan is to check out Mt Macedon this weekend and it can be the cruise for July, and then on the 22nd we can just catch-up for a lunch in a park somewhere. To save on organising this time we'll just pitch in and get fish and chips. Sooo... is there a good park near Kenshin's family fish and chip shop joint? Or another awesome one in the city?

If its the week before, the 22nd, it won't conflict with Reece's 27th Friday night meet-up, I mean we could have two meets two days apart but that probably won't work

  10. Hey fellas, new to Toyotas and new to Melbourne (sorta). Never been to a meet before but very keen to take at look at some other corollas.

Not sure about Mt Macedon, im in Keysborough and have no idea where Mt Macedon is?! Are there any regular gatherings around the suburbs?

Hey, we'd love to have you along to a meet :)

Mt Macedon is on the way to Bendigo, its about an hour and a bit from Bendigo towards Melbourne, and I'm guessing from say Essendon/Sunshine it'd be around the hour mark too. I didn't know where Keysborough was so I had to look it up :) There are a couple of members down that side of Melbourne and our Melb members try to tee up Friday night meets and things. For the rest of us we generally try and plan something once a month to meet and catch up.

For anyone interested dwee and I are going to go check out Mt Macedon this Saturday, meeting there (just off the freeway in Black Forest Drive) at noon. Cos I'm still keen to organise something for the 22nd to catch up with people, I can't make the Friday night one Reece has planned and obviously nothing will be organised next month because its the Annual.

  11. And stuff you both Daryl and Andrew with the jacks, that's just not fair! How on earth I am going to get the car fully clean is anyone's guess if I get up there lol I'm sure I will think of something though :D

You can come to my place and put her up on stands.

I can help if you trust me :D

Done and done :D You are awesome! And of course I trust you, you're a fellow Camry owner  Please cross your fingers for me then that I can still drive up there then :) Otherwise thank goodness there are last minute flights!

  12. I'd love to do the go karting but its all so up in the air for me at the moment RE my attendance, as I've mentioned earlier I have applied for another job, so if I get that I don't know if I can get all of the holiday time or come at all, if they let me take paid leave then definitely, but I can't afford it unpaid. If I don't change jobs I'll be up there as planned :) (as I have had the time booked off for months now)

But yeah, I will just have to say no to make it easier as you need the money by this week. If I do make it (which is 100% my aim) I will just play photographer :)

And stuff you both Daryl and Andrew with the jacks, that's just not fair! How on earth I am going to get the car fully clean is anyone's guess if I get up there lol I'm sure I will think of something though :D

  13. Excellent stuff - I will pass on that winery website too, cheers paradigm. Lol, sorry Tasmanians :( All in good fun! I must admit the only time I've been over there was when I was about 13 and didn't really enjoy myself, but then again now I'm older and from the things above there is lots I missed out on, so I'll definitely have to go back.

Mum was stunned when I sent her your replies, busily working out now what on earth they are going to fit into 7 days hehehe As you guys said above, a week probably just isn't going to cut it! You should take a photo of the spirit of the sea sculpture for us all

  14. Wow, thank you all so much - what a gold mine of information :D The scenic railway sounds pretty cool, as do a lot of the museums and bush walks and that. Mum and Nick are big into wineries as well so the Tamar valley would be a goer I reckon!

Top stuff on selling your home state :) Now I want to go there too! :D
