  1. Wow!! lol, been awhile since I visited here. Been so busy with work. Nothing much happened to the Yaris, except it had it's 50,000km service last week. Pretty much all fluids changed etc. Though I will be looking at getting some new tyres in the coming months
  2. So, ended up not going to work as planned today, going tomorrow instead. So used the day to install another form of laziness; Keyless Go Keyless Entry Keyless ignition Remote start Just keep the fob in your pocket It even winds up my windows on lock Works a treat New discs and pads are in, lowered the car another 10mm allround, benefits of coilovers.
  3. Pics of new style DBA 4000 T3 Clubspec discs; No left or right discs anymore as they work on either side. I ordered the T2's, they gave me these. Now, just gotta find time to fit them.
  4. Not much to report, car is now on WA plates, got a service done, was commented on how well looked after the car was by the service guys. Bought a pollen filter, didn't come with one from factory, you had to option it. And it has recently clocked 41,000km. Not bad for a 5 yr old car.
  5. Hey, As the Yaris didn't come with a Pollen filter from factory, unless asked, does anyone know what the Part No is for it?
  6. I now have some K Sport coilovers fitted and what a difference it has made to the handling of the car, more direct steering, flatter stance in cornering. The coilovers have 32 way adjustbility in compression and rebound, height adjustable both spring height (F/R) and bottom strut mount adustabilty (fronts only) meaning I can keep full spring and shock travel but still lower the car via raising the lower strut steering mount. And also camber adjustment on the strut tops. I'm still playing with settings, but so far very happy with them.
  7. Well not much to update, myself and the family have made the move back home to WA, both cars have come over also. Got a few ideas on some more mods, been looking at some K Sport coilovers, CAI intake and a possible exhaust upgrade, nothing drastic, just enough to get a bit of free flow going. And also looking at adding a 4 Ch amp and slimline sub for a wheel well install.
  8. 11th of April, car will be loaded onto a truck and 5,000km and 28 days later, will end up at its new location in Mandurah WA Then will have to see about changing the rego over after that. For those in WA with a yaris, what is the average rego costs?
  9. Have you thought about getting a replacement rim for the car from either Toyota or from the classifieds, chuck them on, get the RWC, then throw the 18's back on after? At least that way, you can sell the car with the rims, and throw in the OEM rims as spares.
  10. If all goes well, the car will be on a transporter end of next week and on its way to Perth, with myself and the family following a day or 2 behind.
  11. Not much of an update, Got some new Sony 6.5" splits today, on special for $63, was $179. Had a heap of Dynamat left over form my other car, so did the front doors, made a speaker baffle to replace the OEM one and mounted to tweeter on the trim piece forward of the window controls. For those, I went to the wrecker and picked up a set for $10, used them and save the others. The only visible clue of after market speakers; The OEM ones, being intergrated into the baffle are so light!! But the new ones make such a difference to the sound, alot clearer and crisp. Now that the doors are dynamatted, the doors close with a solid thunk and really bring out the sound in the cabin.
  12. These new headers were a PIA to fit!!! lol Mainly access to the bolts on the exhaust manifolds. But, after much cursing, sweating, many coffees, doing housework, fixing other stuff going to a 1st birthday party, they are in. All set and ready to go; Out with the old; In with the new; OEM and Aftermarket side by side; In terms of the drive, there is a definate increase in mid range punch, I'll have to see how economy goes now with the headers and the flashed ECU, got a full tank to go through. Plus I must of had a small exhaust leak or something as the car now idles smoother and is quieter!! The weight difference between the OEM header and the HM is very noticeable. Just from feel, the OEM headers weighs the same as 2 HM headers and the OEM connecting pipe is about twice as heavy as the HM version. It really does like to rev now, mid range has definately improved. Have to keep an eye on the Speedo now caught myself over the limit a few times. That's how much difference its made, well to me anyway. I would now like to see what it does down the 1/4

  15. Where we live, there are no places that fix rims, plus, it would cost just as much to fix as to but a new one. So, we bought a new one.
  16. Not much on here, except missus says I have a big task of detailing the car when I get home from overseas in 3 weeks. Plus we gotta get it ready for it's move interstate so we have transport when we move.
  17. So, HM Headers, Coilovers and new black carpet and parcel shelf are all paid for. Now, after I get home from overseas in 3 weeks, gotta find time to fit them all in between work, and moving states.
  18. Missus picked up her new 5th rim and tyre today, and, apparently it doesn't fit in the wheel well. I was certain it would as there is plenty of room between the bottom of the boot floor and the steelie spare, and the Rim won't go. Guess the steelie will have to stay there for now.

  20. The mirror tilt can be done on any car, it is just the wiring will need to be worked out, like on mine, on the mirror controls, 1 wire does 2 functions, so a bit of splicing was needed. Yeah the Verada is the upper spec model, like the Fairmont is to the Falcon. The 3.5 goes real hard now that the ECU has been flashed. Coupled with the AWD, it scares alot of other cars off the line now! lol Though the 3.8 from the 380 goes even harder! The plan is to put a 3.8 into the Verada, it has been done before, it really transforms the way the car drives.
  21. Ring the Toyota dealership where the car was bought from, and ask for the code, give them the VIN and they can look it up and tell you, sometimes they won't charge. Failing that, buy a cheap aftermarket replacement, no PIN to worry about. If you now have issues with the battery, now might be the time to change it, depends how old it is. Also, check that the terminals are on securely, they may be loose, causing the radio to reset and ask for a PIN
  22. So, trying not to, but, spending more on the car, Got HM AWD Headers coming and a new 200CPI Cat, along with new Black carpet and parcel shelf and finally getting Coilovers aswell. And lastly, new rims and tyres, reducing in size by 1" to 18's, more choice in correct load rated tyres. As I'm still overseas till mid Feb, these will be fitted over time when I get back.
  23. I didn't do anything, but the wifey did. As she damaged one of the rims on the Yaris the other day, she has purchased a 5th matching Enkei rim to replace it, therefore relagating the damaged one, which will have a cheap tyre put on, as a spare. She used my account to pay for it haha At least now, she won't have to worry about using the steelie now
  24. Well, it's happened..... the missus has scrapped a rim. She is all upset because she was so careful not to, then her mum made it worse by saying I was going to kill her for ruining it lol I told the missus, these things happen and even my rims are scrapped. She found a replacement on special, and I told her she can get it and a cheap tyre, so the ruined one can be used as a spare. I haven't seen a photo of it, but she tends to be over exaggerate things a little haha
  25. Yes I do, then when I take them for a drive they are shocked it doesn't creak, groan or rattle like some cars at that age or newer. I'm very happy that as a 2004 model, it is still tight as a drum. You can tell it has a stiff chassis as the frameless windows don't pop out when going up steep driveways at an angle. If they pop then your chassis is twisting.
