  1. Why the hell is it more expensive when there is ethanol blended into the so called 'racing" fuels??

You have to burn more of it anyway to maintain the same amount of power. Never tried those ethanol blended fuels before cause the price is too high.

On a side note my brother put V-power into my sportivo and from his experience the car picked up better and had a smoother idle (he borrowed it for a week)

  2. Read your insurance policies carefully people. If their insurance sounds like a bargain, all the more reason to got through every single part of it. If the premium is cheap, then the excess is horrible and vice versa.

They have to make their money somewhere. I went looking for Just cars at one stage, and once you add all the excesses etc...it brings the grand total up to about 2 grand.

  3. I used G-Spot sound deadener last time, but I was applying it during a hot summer day. Just leave it in the sun and you don't need a heat gun lol.

Anyways, if for most people you believe that its too expensive to use sound deadener. The very least you could do is cover up the service holes with some tape and pieces of cutout MDF. Makes a huge difference to bass response.

I went overboard with my conquest corolla, I sound deadened the inside and outside panel and also applied a layer of foam on the door trim. After that I didn't see the point of a subwoofer and everytime I close my door it gives a nice THUD.

  4. Don't like

    Cabbage

    Cauliflower

    Beer (<10 cans)

    Like

    Fried Rice Noodles

    Beer (>10 cans)

    LOL

I'm a Cook (won't say Chef) so there is not much that I don't like. Even bitter melon is nice!! (If you know how to prepare it)

  5. Thats why keep it, but I'm not 100% sure.

Look around in the celica forums on 7AFTE build ups, and you can always cross over to the 7AGTE which involves combining both the 7afe and 4age to procduce the 7age or GTE. I did some brief research on the corolla turbo as I was deciding between the turbo and the new corolla sportivo. I didn't like the look of the AE112 (I think) corollas, so I got the ZZE123 instead. If it looked alright, I would of went for the turbo model.

You can acheive 160kw at the wheels...but thats pushing the limits of the engine. 160kw at the flywheel would be the safer upper limit.

  6. Walk into uni with the right attitude and it will reward you....if you are unsure about the whole uni thing then take a year off or do it part time, that way you will be sure of what you really want to achieve.

I enjoyed my time at uni, although I regret lumping through it.

  7. I have a rattle in the sportivo too...I hate it. Occurs at approx 2300rpm in every gear...but disappears past that. Its somewhere in the dash board on the drivers side, going to rip out alot of things this coming summer and sound proof the whole thing.

Also I have a constant whine coming from the transmission, whether in gear or out. Its the only thing that is making the whole car noisy. When the car is at the traffic lights its quiet compared to my conquest corolla, but once the car is in motion its more noiser. My friend and his dad (mechanic) went for a drive in my car and they said its normal and could possibly be the tires...I'm not convinced until someone else has the same noise in their ride

    Cheers

  8. Well I haven't actually got anything installed on my car except for a trust airnx II panel filter, but I'll offer what I know so far.

First question is what corolla you have and what engine? 1zzfe or 2zzge? or maybe the more older engines such as 4age, 7afe, 4afe, 4age (20Valve), 4agze, 4AGTE...

If you have a 2zzge its better to get the factory exhaust manifolds ported as they provide the best gains as we speak.

With exhaust manifold, 4-2-1 provide better mid-range power output which would be beneficial for everyday driving. Go for 4-1 if your after outright power.

    Cheers

  9. There are three screws that you have to remove before unclipping it. Remove the arm rest lid by using your hands and fingers. You will find that you have two of the three screws there. Then unclip the central power window console. The remaining screw can be removed by unclipping the cover on the door handle. Remove the the tweeters by pulling it out. Finally reach behind the trim where the speaker is, and you'll find that it comes off pretty easy. I can't make it more easier to follow...as I'm in need of lots of sleep............Weddings are not fun....

    Cheers

  10. With most US made intake kits, the brackets most likely will not fit correctly. Although the engine layout is the same, the fact is there steering wheel is on the left hand side. You could probably fabricate some yourself, I know that even the TRD ones will fit but the brackets do nothing. I think the CES ones have brackets to bolt them in, not sure though.

    Cheers
