  1. Alrighty, so I got the wheels put in and lowered. 17" Advanti Talon in Gunmetal Grey Lowered on Pedders Sports Ryder Lows on stock shocks (couldn't afford to go for coilovers just yet) Looks pretty shmick in my opinion. I like the smokey look of the wheels against the black car. Hopefully when the springs settle in over the next couple of weeks it will look even better at a slightly lower level (especially the rears), but even at the moment I really like the look. Took about 30 mins to get the wheels installed and about 2 hours to get the springs installed and wheels aligned afterwards.. after that, brought it to the carwash to give it a bit of a washee washee... so nice and clean now. Pics attached below - wish the lighting wasn't so terrible in my apartment complex's parking. Hopefully some good weather is upon us Melbournians soon, so I can take the car out to the beach and take some shots there :)
  2. Niiice mate. 3, 4 and 1 are my favs (in order of preference) but you really gotta see them against the car to really have a feel for what they will look like on ur car. (or a decent photoshop job lol). Almost time to pick up my car and take it for a washeewashee.
  3. Lol thanks man. No worries. Well my wheels are installed and they look pretty slick IMO. Just dropped the car off at Pedders to get lowered. So will be taking the car for a washy washy afterwards and hopefully it will look all sweet and shmick. Photos to come later today :)
  4. Yep quite certain it's TRD. And yeah, it's so damn hot!
  5. Second pic is awesome. Your bro got skills lol you can see the cropping but i didnt catch it until i looked at the pic carefully. but yeh.. we'll see how things look tomorrow when I get them installed tomorrow and my lowering done too :)
  6. lol sometimes it's good to break away from the norm. Plus I saw some pics of gunmetal rims on black cars and it looks hot. smokeyyyyy. Still keeps the stealthy colourscheme too. My brother just photoshopped some pics for me lol.. the "not lowered" pic (left) looks completely lawl - like a mini SUV. and the lowered pic (right) is a bit too low especially at the front lol.
  7. Nice DRL mods man. Can't tell cos I'm posting on my phone, but are they outside or inside the headlight covers? :)
  8. Didn't really want to cheap out on the tyres too much so opted for 17". Think I'm going to bite and get them done tomorrow with the gunmetal. Will post pics once I get it :)
  9. thanks Juvenille :) they actually called back and told me they only have the gunmetal grey version in stock. Not sure which to go for because they both look nice! gives it kind of a smokey look.
  10. Well I just got off the phone with Bridgestone Select and they offered me a wheel and tyre package including the 17" Advanti Talon in black and fitted with Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001's as tyres (215/45/17) for $1500 (includes $200 trade in of my old stock wheels). What do you guys think about that?
  11. Hi guys, So I'm going to go shoe shopping this weekend (tomorrow hopefully - so excited! :D) and wanted everyone's opinion on a set of rims: Advanti Talon (in black) - http://www.bigotyres...vantiwheels/142 Wanted to go with the black-on-black colour scheme (stealthy look).. already got my windows tinted pretty dark so think it would suit pretty well.. gonna lower the sucker too. 17" big enough? lol.
  12. So I'm looking to go shoe shopping this weekend and intend to drop my baby a bit too. Hopefully that goes well :) what do you guys think about Advanti wheels? Kinda interested in the Advanti Talon wheels in black to go with my black on black stealthy theme :) Also, with lowering, I'm trying to decide between pedders or king springs. And is there any issue sticking with my stock shocks? Cheers.
  13. Haha this will be on hold until after I get wheels installed and my ride lowered. That is more of a priority for me :)
  14. Ah. Thanks for that mate - so I guess this means the key needs to always be in the ignition? I got a quote from Ace Automotive - $105 for first half hour then $105 for every hour after that.
  15. Hey guys, I was thinking of getting RKE kit with push-button engine start installed in my 2011 Ascent (wish it came standard like the Levin ZR!), and found this system by Advanced Keys: http://www.advancedkeys.com/Prod_AK103B.html Anyone heard anything about this kit? I love the button too - looks very OEM Toyota/Lexus to me and its not a bad price for the kit itself. Only thing is I probably wouldn't be able to install it myself (no mechanical/electronic knowledge) so I wonder how much it would cost to get someone to install it for me professionally.
  16. Ahh yeah, 4300k should be white lol nice car though btw ;)
  17. What 4300's have you got installed mate? I thought 4300k would be more of a warm white than blue. Btw, my HID's have only just been installed so haven't really used them for that long (probably 3hours in total so far).. I read that HID's have a "break in" period of about 50 hours to reach its true colour, so I'm no where near that yet lol.
  18. They're actually white buddy, if you look at the pics taken with the DSLR.. the closeup of my lights were off my iPhone. And I don't think they look more yellow than your 4300's, if you look at the pics of mine compared to yours which look a lot more amberish (unless you're referring to your blue lights, which in that case I'd be wondering why 4300k's would be blue lol)..
  19. Ahhh thanks mate. Gave myself a fright for a moment. Did some more reading on the different patterns and yeah completely understand now why my beams are like that. Due to being ECE RHD cutoff pattern. Cheers man
  20. Hey guys just out of curiosity, should HID beams have a straight horizontal cut-off on the top of the beam? Mine aren't completely straight and have this slight sort of angeled "pattern" so not sure if this is normal. Cheers. this is about 1.5m from the wall: a bit closer (about 1m from the wall): and even closer (about half a meter from the wall):
  21. No no no to the blue ring. Toooooooo tacky. All black or maybe chrome trim. Too tacky? Why's that? lol Guess I'll see how they look up against the car when I do go shoe huntin. Probably will stick with the black with chrome lip though. Or might look at how gunmetal looks on the car.
  22. Post Edited. All photos in gallery..
  23. SICKKKKKK!!! Definitely digging the audio setup man! Awesome work. Oh and not to mention the folding windows when you arm/disarm the security system. I wish mine would open/close automatically - I sometimes forget to unfold mine when I get in my car LOL.
  24. Thanks guys :) My next installment is definitely going to be new wheels and lowering. Trying to decide between black with machine/chrome lip or maybe black with blue strip/trim (just to be different from all the red strip/trims). Either way it will probably be another month or 2 before I've accumulated enough funds :)
  25. Hi guys, Got my 2011 ZRE152 last month (after my old 2003 Rav4 and I were in a bit of a fender bender), and started to do some slight mods here and there.. The mods started coming in quick; never knew modding would become such an addiction for me :S Anyways, thought I'd update this first post. Finally decided to name my ride.. 'Leila' , a variation of the name 'Layla' which is of an Arabic origin that means "Dark Beauty".. thought it was a pretty appropriate name for my black ZRE :) Current Mod List: Aftermarket Slim Tinted WeathershieldsWindow tints: 33% driver side & front passenger side and 20% rear passengers & rear windshield (had to fix up the fronts due to defect issued)HID headlights: 6000k low beams, 8000k high beamsLED parker lights and rear license plate lights17" Advanti Talon (Gunmetal Grey) WheelsBridgestone Potenza Adrenaline RE001's (245/45/17)Lowered on Pedders Sports Ryder eXtreme XA CoiloversExhaust system modified with Xforce S10 Twinloop Rear Muffler and Catco Metal Hi-flow CatInjen SP2079BLK Cold Air IntakeGenuine front Netz badgeDebadged Rear (TOYOTA, COROLLA and ASCENT badges)Matte Gloss black rear Toyota trunk emblemVG Sharkfin Antenna modLarger rear roof spoiler - similar to Levin rear spoiler (on the way)Levin Side skirts fitted BENEN Industries Rear Towhook in blue (removed due to defect issued for it)Couple of decals Future Mods: new wheels (absolutely hate stock steelies)lowering (possibly King Spring Lows - not sure if I will be scraping/rubbing on SuperLows)possibly coilovers later on down the trackCAI (Injen?)Sports exhaust Will maybe look into replacing the stock cat+resonator with a highflow cat and sausage resonator later onRear Roof SpoilerBodykit (possibly comprising of TRD Front Lip and Modellista Rear Spats and Toyota Motorsport Sideskirts)Foglights (when aftermarket ones are available - not paying $800 excl installation, for genuine Toyota ones)New headunit (Eclipse?) + sound system setupOEM Toyota Auris LED FootwellsLED DRL's cbfFront Netz Emblem (on the way now from JP)De-badge the rear (Toyota logo, Corolla logo, Ascent logo) and paint rear Toyota Emblem flat/matte black (will be doing this the coming weekend)
