you have so much to learn.....the 2zz needs backpressure, go and drop the rear muffler off your car and go for a drive and you will be amazed how much power and tourque you loose.
all depends on what part of the rev range you use and want to maximise.
For midrange torque though, yes you need the backpressure, but if you are looking at running at peek revs all the time, like on the track then the less restriction the better. But even then you need the exhaust tuned to the right frequency range (ie the correct length and diameter) to maximise the harmonics of the entire system at the rev range you most wish to use.
i was refering to street use, not track hehe.

that muffler will be so loud you will be defected within a week....one of the guys here in brisbane had the same one, took it off because it was soo loud.

You know the 20v 4age is infamous for poppin a flame on the shifts but I have not seen a 2zz do suc
Has anyone here seen a Sportivo poppin any flames?
Is this a common thing or is it rare for a 2zz to do so without ecu tuning and cat removal?
What I'm getting at is - Will it backfire with just a straight through exhaust?
I absolutely love that vroooom......PAX!!! - with the accompanying flame.
if it had a straight through exhaust it would, but it would be that loud you would also get a massive headache....

ok cool. thanks northy. can i buy the tape n screws from toyota? I see there is old tape around the top of them which ill have to scrape off. But there is holes along the bottom of them as well? what are they for? I could just go into toyota to find this stuff out but some people on here would prob no more lol
bunnings should have all you need...
the clips are special ones that clamp onto the car when you screw them up, the doubble sided tape is also special as it has a lip on one side, the holes along the botton are for push in clips (forgot about these in previous post) all of which you are going to have to try and get from toyota.

good qestion, had me worried for abit, i'v been looking into bucket seats too... i'v been searching ebay for a cheap one with universal rails..
i don't wanna hi-jack the tread but if the seat is ADR aprroved does that mean it's legal to have them fitted with out an engineers aproval?
are the seat rails ADR approved?
-
there is doubble sided tape that runs around the top edge of the skirts, then at each end there is 3 screws and clips that hold the ends on.

I'd like to invite all those with a 2.5" CES catback and who are not 1,000,000% happy with the gains to make a post now, im thinking we are going to hear the crickets.
All these places that claim that 2.5" is too big are talking out their *****....id say its because they dont have the skill & knowledge to design a system that works and dosent drone like a milo tin. Time and time again these places claim to know what they are talking about and CES is still the only system with proven gains accross the board.

Hey guys, just curious on what size piping the majority of you guys got cat back on you sportivos.
Im thinkin 2 1/4 after hearing from exhaust place that with 2.5 itll have 3kw xtra gain top end but be a little bit laggy lower end. And seeing as the sportivos arnt really torque monsters id rather not have any more lag down low.
Thanks guys
to put it in simple terms, the place your talking to dosent know *****.

wont have any effect on the airbags at all, they are only for the seatbelt indicator lights.
