Yesterday I was next to a Ford Focus XR5 at the lights, gave it some around the corner (2 lanes turning) just to see what they'd do, they gave it some. Ended up stopping at the next red light. A couple of trucks turned left into my lane, but there was still room to do some testing before getting to the speed limit. It was pretty close in 1st gear, actually pulled in front a little at redline, sloppy change into 2nd, still pretty close before I backed off as the back of the trucks got closer. 166kw in them apparently, not sure if it had any mods. Happy with the little standard Sportivo.

I just got '1' Eonon DVD/TV stereo with 6.2 inch screen off Ebay, but inadvertantly got 2 (don't ask, I'm a munson and was in a rush because I wanted to install it this week and ended up bidding on 2 at the same time). If anyone is after one they're $225 'Buy it now' so I've got a spare 1 available for about $200, free delivery for anyone in Brisbane (Logan and Inala is extra for 'danger money' ; ) other cities postage is negotiable too. Brand new unopened of course. Could potentially get it shipped straight to you if you're quick because it hasn't been shipped yet. Blah blah. Price is only $185 (what I paid) plus postage.

Yep. Disagree! Expecting to find a dicussion on a forum, what was I thinking... Not keen on the CAI's that go right down the front of the car. We have little flash floods up here in Brisbane all the time. No biggie, I'm not trying to have an argument on which one's better. I know other people have the shorter CAI/SRI's. They're the people I'd like to hear from with their experience with ease of fitment eg. the K&N. If not the K&N, then one that people have had good experiences with. If K&N guarantees a power increase, I'm not too worried with having to return it if it doesn't.

Thanks for the replies guys, has anyone got any recommendations for an SRI (I'd prefer the term 'normal' ; ) or equivalent for the 2ZZ-GE that they've actually had installed or done themselves? Do you know of anyone around here that has it?

Is there a way to tell if the pre-facelift models have had the 'ECU fix' (by Toyota) done?

The engine is smack bang in the middle of the engine bay. The pod will end up all the way over to the right - where the stock airbox draws it's air from (cooler air obviously when you're doing what the car was designed for: driving). There is always the option to put on a heat shroud and/or an actual 'cold air intake' (not just a pod in a different location).

I'd be happy with an SRI that works as it's supposed to eg. gives some power gain; and that's easy to install eg. fits the Sportivo easily with no cutting or too much fiddling/jamming. Preferably around the $200 mark (delivered) like the K&N (I had a K&N on my old SSS Pulsar and was very happy with it, but I welcome other suggestions that people have used that work).

I've read just about everything here, the ones you mention are out of my price because I want to do some other things as well eg. wheels. Looking to buy the 698751TP K&N for about $200 delivered. Unless there's a compelling argument not to go with that because it's too hard to install yourself...

Hey guys, just sold my Celica. After doing some research and finding out the 2004 Corolla had the same engine and gearbox I bought one. Can anyone tell me what 18 inch wheels are available, it's proving very difficult to find - they're all mostly 5 pin. Also, has anyone had an 'easy' experience with installing a K&N CAI?
