  1. Particularly figuring out the offsets and whether or not the rims I look at and want will fit and not need alterations to the car like rolling the guards and stuff...
  2. Damnfuzz - can you PM me all the information you know in regards to wheels heaps dumbed down? I'm STILL having trouble understanding all the stuff about the offsets... Thanks for having a shot anyways mate.
  3. Was at the mechanics the other day and this guy with a Lexus rolled up and had the exact same problems, except his car would stall cause the RPM's went so low. The mechanic got some sort of key and turned something around near the gear selector lever and it was perfect afterwards. Same thing happens with my 318i, but that was a power issue.
  4. Long term solution = raising your car.
  5. They aren't the Speedy Cheetahs as they dont have the design on the outer lip of the rim. I've been doing some searches and can't seem to find these in 4 studs, has anyone got a link or something for rims that look nearly identical and have a decent offset, without changing the accuracy of the speedo so I won't cop fines or defects or whatever, of the Sportivo? Thanks guys...
  6. Thank you, DamnFuzz. Do you know of any rims that are similar to the one on the Corolla in the OP that come with 4 studs? Am a huge fan of these rims and would love something similar. I will shoot you a PM when I have more time to compile a list. Thanks again.
  7. Taking it to an auto electrician would probably be your best shot.
  8. Damn dude sorry to hear, wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy... Our old Ford stationwagon got stolen back in the day, all the robbers did was drive it to Dromana and leave it in a ditch. They didn't put paint in the car and sand into the engine and whatnot. I'm also on the other guys' side - definitely done with malicious intent. Again, sorry to hear.
  9. Right. All these offsets and whatnot are gibberish to me even though I read all the stickies and whatnot, can you tell me how rims that size will affect the car? Will it affect the speedo/turning circle and all that type of jazz? Thanks for the speedy reply. EDIT: The stock Sportivo rims are 4 stud, how can you get a 5 stud rim onto the car? Sorry for being a complete noob at this. Thanks.
  10. Hi guys, these rims are on LFT20Y's Corolla Sportivo. Now he says that these are 18" HP Design rims, but I can't find anything similar to them. I've done some research and have found these: ^ These are Toro TR9002 17x7.5 ^ ^ These are Toro TR9003 17x7.5 ^ Both taken from: http://www.torowheels.com/collection.html I'd ask him himself but he seems MIA and probably won't reply to my e-mail or PM. I'm thinking they are the TR9003's but I could be wrong. If anyone had any information about these rims and their offsets and whether or not they will fit on the Corolla Sportivo, please tell me. Thanks!
  11. where'd you get the injen cai from in melb? will it also fit the zze123?
  12. Thank you, lateralus, these were the answers I was looking for. -Gee.
  13. What was the cause of the drained battery??
  14. Sick ***** rims. Do you know where I can pick these up from in Melbourne Australia? I'm trying to find some but I can't.
  15. Sorry, and yes distilled water. I should have added that. If your car's working after the jumpstart and is still dying on you get the alternator checked out.
  16. Did you get the car to start? Some batteries need water in them too so if your battery is like this then pop the caps off and check how much waters in them - obviously after you disconnect it from the terminals.
  17. Yeah I'm looking at this one on CarSales, it's an 05 Sportivo not an Aurion. Thanks anyways! Yeah you're right, this is a given however. I was mostly wondering about the callbacks of the Sportivos and was wondering if the 05 model had the issue with first and second gear, and I think it was the ECU? that needed modification because they weren't getting their true 141kW output at the engine. Thanks.
  18. Is there a writeup on what you did to your stock headlights?
  19. Hi all, I've been a long time reader and have decided to register now that I'll be buying a Sportivo in the near future. Excuse me if this has been posted before, but I'll be (HOPEFULLY) upgrading from my 1993 BMW 318i to a 2005 Sportivo and was wondering a few things, any help is appreciated. What should I look for when buying? My list is as follows: - Motor. - Exterior. - Interior. - Check all doors close properly. - Check all windows work properly. - Check all speakers and head-unit work properly. - Check AC unit works and heats/cools accordingly. - I have read before that the Stivo's have had gearbox problems in the past and that the engine was not actually producing 141kW's and for these reasons they have been called back - do the 05's have this problem? (the facelift ones I believe). If it has then it should have a sticker indicating that it's been taken back for the recall, yes? If so, where can I find this sticker? - Are there any other problems that the Stivo's had that required callbacks that I am unaware of? - What is a good price for stock Stivo's, for the following KM's? - 80K - 100K - 120K - 150K+ - Is there a free REVS check website of the likes? I had one before but I've seemed to have lost it! Again I am terribly sorry if this has been posted elsewhere or if this is in the wrong section, and again, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Gee
