  1. I dont think that is nessisarily the truth. I think the best thing to do is find a dealership (and a service advisor) you like (ideally the one you buy the car from) and build a relationship with them. I do agree there are some dodgey mechanics out there but they are not exlusive to dealership (or private) workshops. However if you dont have any luck with a local dealer a private workshop can be the best way to go.
  2. www.hitechcarsound.com.au speak to Martin, tell him you spoke to Toby
  3. Incl stero, fitting and all ancilleries eg, facia and USB leads etc
  4. Approx $400 fitted for a new unit (Clarion) incl all facia trims, and USB leads required.
  5. Bala, I know a guy that does audio upgrade and is mobile (does alot of cruise controls etc on new cars for dealerships), if you want more info i can get you prices etc.
  6. If it looks like a fuel bowser with a dotted line underneath it's the fuel sedimentor light and doesnt need a scan too to clear it. You will need to drain or possibly replace your fuel filter.
  7. Timing belts will usually add AT LEAST 1 hour on to service time plus the belt is usually $90.00ish so straight up theres and extra $220.00 on top of a basic service price but as is perviousply mentioned in most moddles post 2000 they are only done at 150,000kms service if they are fitted at all.
  8. Most Dealers actually use a Toyota branded Semi-Synthetic 10w30, made by caltex specificly for Toyota, but agree 100% service history is a massive factor. Min 15k/1year between services, but more often is better. A few other issues VVTI controllers (brief rattle on start up mainly when cold).Steering intermediate shafts (clunking noise from steering, not a safety issue just annoying)Leaking water pumps (look for any pink chalky residue in the engine bay
